My previous review had taken into consideration some growing pains at this location. Sadly nothing has changed. A simple order of «coffee-black», paying, and then hearing «I only have enough for a tall, can I top it off with something else?». Who would have thought a cup of their medium roast would end up impossible 80% of the time?

I would live here if it was a bit bigger inside, maybe with some comfier chairs. But even the décor isn’t enough to make this place a 4 star joint, because the staff is absolutely lovely. I always come by late into the night, about an hour or so before closing (which is when people usually rush customers and make mistakes) and the staff here is consistently positive and friendly, and super welcoming. They also are always willing to give drink recommendations (unusual among baristas, as far as I’ve seen), and are super speedy. These guys are the best!

Stopped in before an appointment today. Much better service! The girl at the till was very friendly and nice. And when I pulled a no-no and answered my phone when I was ordering, she was very patient and retained the smile on her face. Plus my drink was made correctly.

Never disappointed in Starbucks, and I especially like the blended tea’s that they have. Y-U-M!

I’m finding that this location is growing on me more and more. Just on the fringes of UofA’s campus, it’s the perfect distance for a good lunch time walk and a «Venti Iced Green Tea with Raspberry Syrup”(That is of course, only when the weather is beatiful!)
While there are plenty of other Starbucks kiosks on campus, this is «a legit» Starbucks and comes with a fair amount of space — both inside, outside, and in the lobby of the College Plaza building. The staff are much friendlier than those working the café within Sobey’s next door, but the lines can get long and overall the service seems to be somewhat mediocre.
Like I said though, with the warm weather, I’ve found myself here twice in the past week. Not my preferred location, but it does help my day to be a little bit sweeter :)

This Starbucks has a good vibe and decent seating. The speed of the staff seems up to par. The nice thing about this location is that there is 30 minutes of free covered parking in The College Plaza lot, so if you want to park, grab a latte, then head to Sobey’s and the pharmacy in the building, you have enough time to do it. I gave them 4 stars because one of the days I went in they had run out of soy milk and didn’t plan to have any for another 3 days. To their defence, the store was new at the time, so they were probably figuring out ordering quantities. This will definitely become my regular spot for latte’s!
