We decided to have an early Valentine’s Day dinner at The Creperie. We have made reservations for 4:30 pm as it was the available time slot that wasn’t too late in the evening on 02-14-2106. The Creperie is located downstairs on 103 Street NW. It’s a quaint little restaurant, quite the romantic atmosphere. Once we arrive, we were greeted by the hostess who was friendly and seated use promptly to the area that was to the left of the hostess table. During the time we were there, there were a few other tables occupied, so it wasn’t as busy as i thought it would be for Valentine’s Day. Our server, a lady with short blonde hair said that it was busy the night before as people thought they would beat the Valentine’s Day rush the night before. Throughout our time there, our server made us feel rush, as if she would prefer us to quickly order and leave. We had over heard her introduce some type of fried crêpe to order to the next table but we weren’t offered the choice to order it. We had decided to order the 3-Course Valentine’s Day Special($ 48.00). I went with the Potage Dubarry Aux Asparagus Soup to start and had the Crêpe Americaine(Scallops, shrimps and monkfish in a tarragon lobster sauce in an herb crêpe) with the Combo Crêpe(Crêpe wrapped vanilla(?) ice cream with a chocolate and strawberry drizzle) for dessert. He had the Mediterranean Salad to start and the Crêpe Stroganoff(Strips of beef tenderloin grilled with peppers, onions, pickles and mushrooms in a demi-glacé paprika cream sauce). He has the same dessert as me. At this point, we had order but we haven’t ordered our drinks yet, so we asked for a drink menu and ordered the Peaches and Cream Slush($ 4.95) and the Strawberry Swirl($ 4.50). They were okay, ice were abit big to suck up the straw so we just waited for awhile for the drinks to melt before we were able to drink some. At least we had water. I am assuming that normally the restaurant’s noise level is medium to high as the blender in use was quite high throughout our meal… which does not make for a romantic atmosphere. The food came out and presentation doesn’t seem to be appealing. It resembles something from a buffet table or cafeteria… steamed vegetables, with the crêpe in the middle and a scoop of rice on the side. Luckily, our entrees tasted better than it looked. Let’s talk service; service doesn’t seem to be the great here. Our waitress was a hit and miss, from overhearing her with her other tables and our experience with her. The way she mentions the price of our meal seems to be like it would be too pricey for us. Also the way she rushed us through our order. Overall, the food at The Creperie wasn’t bad, the service was tolerable but unfortunately, i don’t think i would come back. The Creperie | 10220 — 103 Street NW, Edmonton, ABT5J4C9

All in all, I was very disappointed in this restaurant. I ordered french onion soup for a starter. The chef apparently forgot my order, and decided to rush a new one out. The soup was completely luke warm… I ordered steak medallions for my main course. I could tell they’d been sitting on a counter for far too long. They were almost cold by the time I got them. On top of that, the chairs looked older than I am. It was probably the most uncomfortable and cramped seating I’ve experienced in Edmonton. I won’t be going back, and I suggest you avoid it as well.

This place is fantastic! Came here with my boyfriend the other night. I ordered the crêpe florentine(creamed spinach and mushroom) and I fell in love. The food is different from the norm, the service was great during our visit and the place is very romantic and quiet(even on busy nights like thanksgiving, when we went!). If you’re looking for a date night spot, I highly recommend this restaurant!

Something tells me this place has seen better days. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. I ordered the crêpe miramar. The pilaff was very bland, the vegetables were obviously from a frozen bag, and the crêpe portion was just okay nothing memorable. We split a few appetizers and I must say all of them aside from the cheese cruistille lacked flavour and quality. I decided to come here because I wanted to try something new and had heard good reviews about it in the past. We made reservations but the place was dead for a Sunday night when it’s always full at other places. Upon speaking to the waitress we also found out that they haven’t been receiving many visitors therefore they no longer open during the day on weekends. It was also odd that one of the waitresses decided to seat another family right beside our table when there were at least 7 other empty tables in our area and another set of at least 5 on the other side that were not occupied. Our chairs were literally back to back with the other family and we could both hear one another’s conversation. Very poor set up and thinking on her part. I definitely won’t be back again.

Nothing better than to hit the Creperie for some sugar after a day of shopping, Service seemed a bit slow and although our crepes were yummy, they were a little on the cold side. I will probably still go back if in the neighbourhood, but not a «to die for» place.

I don’t know what happened to this place. The food use to be so good. Not any more. My husband ordered the veal with potatoes and veggies. The veal and potatoes were dry and overcooked, while the veggies were under cooked. My veggies were also undercooked. The rice was okay, until I got a big chunk of seasoning in one bite(the rice had not been stirred properly). My Crêpe ratatouille was nothing like described in the menu. Our waitress was fantastic and our drinks were good, along side the deep fried cheese crêpe appetizer, but those things were not enough to bring us back.

The food is delightful! We had these crêpe sort of chips and wanted to order more just to take home. Very very good food. My complaint would be however in the service. It may have been just an off night but I had a dinner reso for my birthday for 12 people and it took forever to get our food. The orders were also mixed up. In the end we were all ready to leave but we’re still waiting for our desserts. It was quite frustrating as we had other events to get to. We also had ordered a bottle of wine and it was brought to the table opened and poured without showing or tasting. It turns out it wasn’t even the right bottle. We felt bad returning it but it seemed odd that a place who comes across as high end would make that mistake. A second bottle was brought, but luckily un opened as again it was the wrong one. There were many little things here and there that just all added together made it not the best night out but not the worst. I’d being willing to give it a second chance, perhaps with a smaller group only though.

Poor group service. Paced very slow. Took 4 hours for a meal. Over 2 hours just for entrees. Cold soups. Ran out of desserts. Management insisted that a surprise cake was ordered even though it never was adding $ 60 to the bill. I am very very disappointed in the creperie. It previously was high on my list of must go to restaurants in edmonton. But now its gone completly downhill. There are lots of poor 1 to 2 star reviews for good reason. But frankly this place barely deserves the one star it is getting. First off, parking is terrible in this area. Its metered parking with a maximum of two hours or underground city parking. That blows! Reservations are easy via opentable and I easily changed my reservation using the restaurants website online and was contacted within two days. Our reservation was on wednesday at 7pm. We all arrived early at 630. Then it goes downhill from there. Our waitress is friendly but snarky. She makes rude comments to herself which are quite Insulting. Drink orders are taken slowly for the first 30 minutes. We had requested the signature group menus in advance to our online booking but were not provided the menus for at least 30 min after being seated. Then it was a long long wait. Literally one hour and 20 minute wait for our soups to arrive. My soup was served cold with a layer of hardened goup on top from being under a heat lamp for way too long. It was the feature soup of the night, but was served room temperture. It tasted good but was too cold. So minus a star for the nasty layer of stuff on my soup and minus another star for serving a room temperture soup. Next entrees. almost 2 hours of a wait by now and its almost 9pm. What was the delay… just one table of 5 happily eating in the empty restaurant, while our table of 15 sat with grumbling hungry stomachs past 8pm. When the food arrived it was good. It all came out at once which was nice. But I was pretty annoyed by the waitress serving the young adults before the children at the table. Yup she served my son last! Out of 15 plates. She served his dead last! As any mother would be upset and try to explain to their child to wait while everyone around them is eating when its clear they are hungry. I have eaten at almost all of the mid ranged to fine dine dining establishments in edmonton. And not once was my son treated this poorly. Most restaurants serve children first, even if they are sharing a meal with the parents. So for this I minused a star. Service was poorly executed. After this it goes downhill. The waitress claims they only got 7 crème brulees left and that one person will need to order something else bc there were 8 orders. Someone agrees and orders something else… low and behold 7 crème brulees come out but one person didnt get their ordered dessert. The waitress miscounted the desserts. In fact 9 crème brulees were ordered. So one person didnt get a dessert at all. The waitress offered but the wait would be too long. So one person gets jipped a dessert that they paid for and it wasnt taken off the bill. To make the night complete… the waitress says theres a surprise cake in the back that she needs to bring out. She says its a big surprise. We ask who ordered it and she says it was called in. Our party of 15 ask eachother who bought a cake and nobody can figure out who brought it. Next thing we know she comes with a cake and starts singing happy birthday. Omigod. The waitress insists she takes a picture of the celebrant cutting the cake. The birthday celebrant asks who bought the cake and theres silence. Nobody knows where the cake came from. Yup you got it right. The waitress brought out a cake and made the celebrant cut a cake that nobody ordered. Wow. The creperie has got to score points for literally scamming our party to pay for something we did not order. Yes thats $ 60 on top of whos bill??? Bc nobody ordered it and we had our ordered desserts already! The waitress Insists someone called it in for a large party tonight and spoke to her manager a guy. I insist my reservation was made online via opentable and there was no mention of a cake ever! She claims well theres nothing we can do bc theres nobody here to fix it since everyone has left for the night.(It was 1030 pm when we were waiting for our bills). She just stated she assumed it was ours bc we were the only large party and«well at least theres lots of cake». Then she states to me(I made the reservation) you never called in? «Do you have any enemies who will call this in?» Im all what? Appalled and speechless. I ask for my bill and leave early. As I left. The waitress was having problems issuing bills as she was missing one… bc theres supposed to be 9. The party stays well past 1030 im sure. Terrible service. Period. Scammed for the last time. Will not step foot in this establishment EVER again. I complained to management. And they just said sorry and ignored the complaint.

I really wanted to like this place. I am only giving it one star because I have to and because the food actually tasted good. I came to this place this past Saturday night with my boyfriend for a date night. Made a reservation and was seated right away when we arrived, but they didn’t have any menus because they were all being used? Ok fine so we waited. We waited around 15 minutes and still no menus, no water, and no one had come to speak with us at all. Waited 15 more minutes and finally the waitress(Josie) came to bring us water. Still no menus but we had already looked online at the menu for an appetizer because we were so hungry. We asked for our appetizer and decided against any further drink order but she didn’t even ask us anyway. Still took 5 more minutes to get menus! After about 15 more minutes waitress(Josie) came back over and asked if we had ordered any drinks and confirmed out appetizer — except she told us we order a different one. I corrected her, told her water was fine, ordered our main courses, and she rushed away without any compassion. Really she was quite snotty and had a bad attitude. After waiting a little over a full hour we finally got our appetizer after I asked about it again. I asked if our meals would be sitting under heat lamps because of all the time delays and she assured me they wouldn’t be. After eating our mediocre crab dip, about 10 minutes later our meals came out. Waitress asked if we wanted some more bread after she placed down our meals… weird time to ask about bread and considering we never even got any in the first place! Luckily our meals tasted very good, looked like they were under heat lamps for a bit but whatever we were so hungry after waiting so long. Our waitress seemed to get more friendly as the restaurant died down, since we were there for over 2 hours(not by choice). In the end she did apologize and try to explain that lots of large parties showed up unexpectedly. For which I understand, but still the service and wait times are inexcusable. Also, I found the atmosphere kind of creepy and dismal. Usually I am a huge fan of old school, rustic, very Italian looking places but this place just didn’t seem very friendly inside. Overall, likely I won’t go back unless it’s just for a dessert… and never on a weekend.

Went here for my birthday. Had a house red wine, stromboli crêpe and some dessert. When we got there we were seated immediately. The ambiance is beautiful. Since I went with my girlfriend it was perfect. The bread we got was delicious. Warm and soft, nice whipped butter to go with it. My crêpe was absolutely amazing. The sauce was rich and creamy. It was so full of flavor it just melted in my mouth. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because some quite obnoxious teenagers were sat near us close to the end of the meal. I will absolutely be a repeat customer and this is now one of my faves in the city.

My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out for an anniversary dinner. We had a coupon from a SUTP book and were excited to try a place we’ve never been to before. I made a reservation through Unilocal and we were off to the races. When we arrived, they were busy. Like«host is stressed right out» busy. Something went awry with their reservation system and it seemed to be a point of stress for the staff, however despite this problem, they were kind and professional taking our jackets and getting us seated. The décor is pretty neat but as someone with anxiety and claustrophobia, I did have to talk myself down a little bit. It was cramped but despite close proximity to others it was still intimate. Our server informed us of a special they were offering which put our coupon we were originally going to use to shame. The food was fantastic, the server knew exactly when to clear dishes and bring the next course and he was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our stay, had some amazing food and service and mad props to the host. You kept it together man. I will definitely be returning in the future.

This place was not exactly what I was expecting. It was really old fashioned and quiet! The ambiance was more romantic and I thought it would be more stylish especially considering the décor was quite unique. But the crepes were really good and it was nice to have a quite atmosphere. But my boyfriend ordered the maple salmon and it wasn’t that great. I don’t think I would recommend ordering anything other than their crepes. Our server was nice but didn’t talk too much and couldn’t pronounce any of the names of the dishes.

The third stop on my Downtown Dining Week adventure was at the Creperie. The only other time I had been here was on a date quite a few years ago and while the food was great, the date was really awkward and awful and so to suppress the memory I’ve avoided the place since. I had made a reservation, but when we got in there it was very clear that it wasn’t necessary. We stood waiting to get seated for a while, and then when the guy finally came over to us the first thing he said was«did you make a reservation?» Almost like, if we hadn’t made one that it would be a travesty and there was no way we would be able to get a seat. When I said that I had, he had a genuine look of shock on his face, and then just seated us. We chose the Creperie because it had a $ 25 dinner option, but once we sat down and compared the menus we both decided to upgrade to the $ 50 meal which had 2 starters, a crêpe dessert(weird that the $ 25 one had no crepes on it…) and a glass of wine. Things really started to get weird from the moment we ordered. Our waitress was training a new server — not something that I am unfamiliar with and I tend to find the service is ultra excellent in these circumstances because they are trying to make a good impression on the new employee. My issue was that they would come to our table, do their spiel, and then analyze/discuss what had just happened within ear shot of us. Example: Waitress brings us over our bread, asks us if we need anything else, we say no we’re fine and they walk away. As they walk away however the senior server tells the new one«normally when we do bread runs you are supposed to give two pieces per person, but I always give three because bread runs are the bane of my existence. People are always asking for more bread.» Huh, ok — that was kind of weird. Then it got worse. We had vegetables with our main dish and they were seriously undercooked. When our server(s) came to check on us we mentioned it and she was really apologetic and asked if we wanted new ones. Standard stuff, but we declined– it wasn’t worth the fuss, we just wanted to mention it since she asked. However, as they walked away she turned to the new server and said«so, we actually undercook our vegetables on purpose because most people like it that way». WTF dude? Don’t make me feel like an asshole for telling you that you served me raw vegetables. We didn’t want mushy veg, but definitely more cooked than what we got. Then I ordered coffee. With cream. I overheard her talking with the new girl about how if the table only has a couple people at it to give out the creamer servers that are smaller. Then, once they are done she was supposed to check if the creamer had been«tampered with» and if it «looked ok» to JUSTGIVEITTOANOTHERTABLE. I seriously couldn’t believe I heard that — pretty sure that is some sort of health violation. If you can’t afford to dump the cream that is still in the serving cup, then buy the little packaged cups. Look, if this is standard practice in restaurants, I think that is crazy — but at least I was ignorant of it and just assumed I was getting fresh cream every time. I remember as a kid I used to take little sips out of those creamer things when my parents had coffee. It definitely didn’t look tampered with, but no way should that have been served to someone else. Luckily in this case I was the first person to order a coffee that day(we had gotten there right when dinner started and she had to prep the coffee) so I didn’t worry about it for myself. If I was a confrontational person, I probably would have said something. Instead I just bottled it up and let it all out on Unilocal. For some reason it just bothers me more because it’s The Creperie — it is supposed to set and uphold a standard and it really didn’t. As others have said the place looks very dated and needs a makeover. The glass door on the women’s bathroom was broken and it was boarded with cardboard. The only redeeming thing about the whole experience was the lobster bisque and the crêpe dessert. But that was not worth the $ 100 that the overall dinner cost. I noticed another DDW patron also had a terrible experience, so at least it wasn’t just us. Looks like I have yet another memory of the Creperie to forget. Unfortunately this time it was because the restaurant sucked and not the company.

Wow, what a complete disappointment. We came here for downtown dining week 2014 and it was probably one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. We paid $ 25 per person and it was so underwhelming. We sent our soup back because it wasn’t served to us hot which was fine, the server was actually really good about it. However, it just went downhill from here. Our mains were terrible. My pasta was absolutely tasteless and the bf’s stuffed flank steak wasn’t very stuffed at all there was way too much peppercorn. The dessert was just as bad, the bread pudding was mushy with amount of whip cream on top. I don’t know what’s going on with this place, it was so empty but I don’t think I’ll be back for a while.

Oh I hate to go to restaurants like The Creperie when I’m not feeling good. I was here for a friend’s birthday and there were 4 of us. It had been many years since I’d been to The Creperie, and I was looking forward to having some delicious crepes. Alas I wasn’t feeling so great and it was not to be. Instead I got an order of the French onion soup and a side spinach salad. To be fair the French onion soup was delicious, and salad was pretty damn good as well. I would have loved a crêpe, but I didn’t want to take the chance. My friends all enjoy what they ordered, one got French onion soup(like me) and the baked brie. Another had the Crêpe St. Jacques(a seafood crêpe) and the lemon crème brûlée for a dessert, and the fourth had the ginger beef crêpe(she really liked it) and the crêpe au pommes(apple crêpe) for dessert. My friend appreciated that the applies were real fresh chopped apples, and not just applie pie filling from a can. Our server was nice, and very attentive filling up our water glasses whenever they were near empty. We were seated close to the entrance and it would’ve been nice to have a table a bit further in where it is quieter, but that’s not really a deal breaker. The creperie is a nice restaurant and hopefully the next time I go I’ll be feeling up for crêpe and crème brûlée. The fact I didn’t have crème brûlée when it was on the menu is a first for me.

I love this place! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday(he’d never been) and the service was great, drinks were great, and of course the crepes were to die for. I always have the cordon bleu crêpe and love it. He had a meal crêpe and a dessert crêpe and loved them both. Construction in the area presently makes it hard to get to– we had to walk practically in the street due to lack of sidewalks.
