After skipping the concession at the movie theater my friend and I decided to stop in for a post movie treat. I really like the bright and colorful atmosphere of the place and found it a great place to retreat from the winter blah’s! We decided to share an apple caramel crêpe and found it to be quite tasty although we felt the wait for it was a bit long considering we were the only ones dining at the time. I heard a microwave ding as well shortly before our food was brought out and I found that concerning since I paid $ 9.00 I would hate to think I got something rewarmed that had been made ages ago. This is definitely a nice change from the sea of coffee and donut places found downtown but due to the cost it’s not something I see myself going regularly to. I will probably be back if I need an interesting and different place to take a friend downtown.

The crepes themselves were quite decent(light and fluffy). Added a scoop of coconut gelato which was mostly crystallized. The expresso was quite bland. I ordered a macchiato, which arrived with a blob if foam not quite covering the top. Wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t anything special

My first time here. A great cozy place to have lunch. Portions are a bit small but the food was delicious! I had the chicken and mushroom crepes and the shrimp crepes. I would come here again!

Fabulous! We went based on recommendations on the gluten free menu and we will definitely be back. I had the French Onion soup & the Jerk Chicken crêpe. Fabulous! My companion had the gluten free Chicken & Mushroom crêpe, as well as the borsht. Both meals were wonderful. The soups were full of veggies & healthful ingredients and tasted homemade. I also saw salads being delivered to other tables and they looked wonderful. The owners are definitely passionate about good food.

Visiting from out of town, my friend and I needed a place we could walk to from the Westin and discovered this place almost by accident. A happy accident it turned out to be. The chicken and mushroom crêpe was quite good and the Caesar salad(with bacon bits) was unique and delicious. I liked that the crêpe was a little more dry than the usual drowning-in-cream sauce version. A nice change. My friend had the beef crepes with the Greek salad and enjoyed them as well. We split a piece of Napoleon dessert– great texture, not too sweet. Excellent, friendly service. Didn’t feel rushed at all. A relaxed meal and nice way to unwind from a long day. I’ll be back in the area in a few weeks and look forward to visiting it again.

Since opening in March of this year, I had looked forward to trying out Crêpe Symphony Café but never got around to it. When I passed it on my way to De Dutch a couple of weeks ago, it reminded me to put it back on top of my list for places to try for breakfast/brunch. Before doing some last minute Christmas shopping and frantic gift wrapping, Joe and I popped in for a quick bite to eat. Located right next to Tres Carnales, you won’t be able to miss it. The place was empty when we arrived, although a couple more tables did get filled as we ate our meal. Not surprising, the weather that day was beyond freezing and even walking the three blocks to get there made us shiver! The sole server there was friendly and attentive, sipping on coffee and cleaning up the counters while waiting for us to look over the menu. The menu is simple, divided into two savory menus for breakfast and lunch, as well as a sweet menu for those who need their sugar rush. I’m always torn between the two, but savory always wins when I’m there for breakfast/brunch. Something about eggs, or a nice Hollandaise sauce, will always win over strawberries or chocolate. To warm up, I ordered a hot chocolate. It was one of the better hot chocolates I’ve ever had, not even sure what they put in it! Joe had his coffee with cream and sugar and didn’t comment too much on it. I’ve learned that if he doesn’t say anything at all, he’s usually content. If he does say something, it’s either because it’s horribly bad, or wonderfully delicious. I can only assume the coffee was just coffee. Our orders arrived quickly. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict, because a regular eggs benedict just won’t do for me. The crepes wrapped around soft poached eggs, which was more like medium poached eggs, layered with smoked salmon, a bit of cream cheese, and drizzled with a caper Hollandaise sauce. The dish was well done, although I wished for more Hollandaise sauce. I surprisingly was able to finish the whole dish, which can only mean that to the average person, this might have been a small portion. Although very light, I was happily satisfied and topped myself up on my rich hot chocolate. Joe ordered the chicken mushroom crêpe, topped with pickles and, I believe, a crème fraîche. I had a bite of it and man, if you’re a fan of mushrooms, this one is for you. I don’t think I got a bite of chicken with it and if I did, the mushrooms overpowered any other flavor you might have. Joe enjoyed it, being a fan of mushrooms, whereas I’m a bit pickier with how my mushrooms are prepared. The pickles were a nice touch though. Overall, Crêpe Symphony is a good breakfast/brunch alternative. I would return to try a sweet crêpe, or if I’m in the mood for a lighter, yet filling, breakfast/brunch meal. An added bonus is a lot of their menu items are gluten-free!

The proprietor is a delight, the food is decent, and the surroundings are clean. For the price, I think that Crêpe Symphony represents good value. Recommended if you want to try something different.

Excellent choice of sweet and savoury crepes. The Jerk Chicken crêpe was great, the mushroom soup was stellar! The service was very friendly and the price was good. Great experience!

I wish there were more crêpe places in Edmonton. I love the cute location of this one, but it’s kind of hard to find if you don’t know that it is there. The café is small and decorated… hmm I can’t quite think of the word — simply? There wasn’t anyone else in the café when we went which was a Saturday afternoon. They have your choice of savory or sweet so my friend went for savory and I went for sweet. They were quite good, but when you order one that is all you get. There is no side or garnish so if you are really hungry you should order two. However, that can get pricey. I’m used to Kawii Crêpe back home which are AMAZING and creative. The staff was really nice and genuinely checked in on us and asked lots of questions about what we thought about the place. I would go again, but from where I live it would be a special trip so it probably won’t be for awhile.

I am a sugar addict. I’m constantly scouring the downtown core during lunch trying to find something deliciously sweet. I even have bike messengers on the lookout for me, reporting back to me every time they find something new. I found out about this place from one such bike messenger. The café is small, clean, and classy looking. As I stood in line, I rudely gawked at the food being eaten by people sitting at the tables and mentally cursed myself for already having lunch. The crepes looked goooood. I ordered 2 scoops of gelato from the super friendly guy behind the counter — cappuccino and hazelnut — for just under $ 5. I also saw some pastries and chocolate tart-looking things in the cooler that looked pretty damn delicious, but I fought the temptation. As a huge ice cream/gelato/frozen delights fiend, I LOVED the gelato. So sweet and yummy, and totally fulfilled my sugar craving today. I grabbed one of their little menu cards(which has the café’s name as being ‘Crêpe Symhpony” on one side — WHYDON’T BUSINESSESHIREPROOFREADERS?!?) and am currently planning my next few lunch and dessert trips. I’m excited to go back and try the crepes, especially the one with chocolate sauce and dulce de leche. Drool.

I was kind of unimpressed by my first trip here, so I decided to give them another shot before I reviewed them. I’m glad I did. I had lunch here today with a friend. A single crêpe makes a good light lunch, so if you’re starving don’t expect one to fill you up. One savoury crêpe and half a dessert crêpe was perfect for me though. Today I ordered the chicken and mushroom, which had just the right amounts of each ingredient. My friend had the spinach crêpe, which was a bit heavy on the cream cheese, but otherwise nice. Our banana nutella crêpe was delicious, although honestly that’s a flavour combination that’s hard to mess up. On my first trip, I had the meat crêpe. It tasted ok, but as the only savoury crêpe without cheese, it was a bit dry. The service was awkward on my first visit as well, but definitely seemed to have worked out the kinks by today. They have some other desserts too, as well as a daily soup.

Russian cake ‘caprice’, an amazing taste of the ‘old world’ dessert with just a hint of sweetness I could actually taste the chocolate flavouring. The Americano coffee is smooth with full body and no trace of bitterness at all(from ‘little Italy’)! What a great place to just ‘chill’. All of the menu items were under $ 9.00 and amazingly great. The friend who I had coffee with had the Chicken Mushroom Melt with a generous serving of chicken. I definitely will go here again! and again! I heard that they would soon be opening for breakfast crepes at 7AM.

I was very excited to see that Crêpe Symphony had opened a week ago. There was little fanfare and despite the fact that I live around the corner, I had no idea that it was in operation! It’s great to see 100A St. getting more lively and inviting. I popped in for a take-out lunch today and was pleased! The girl behind the counter was extremely friendly and conversational. The crepes came out of the kitchen in under 5 minutes. The décor of the café is clean, warm and friendly. Free samples of their yummy desserts were offered at the till. As for my lunch: I tried the chicken and mushroom crepes. They were very tasty and I could see myself coming in again for a light meal, especially over hectic lunch hours. The crepes themselves were perfectly made: soft and fluffy. They were filled with chicken breast, mushrooms and topped with swiss cheese. The pickles that were served along side were delicious too. A dill-like creamy sauce accompanied the crepes, and proved to be a nice compliment to the dish. Having skimped on breakfast, I found that the portion size(2 crepes) left me a wee bit hungry afterward. However, this could easily be mitigated next time by ordering soup, etc. with the crepes, or even having a scoop of gelato for dessert. The price point was reasonable($ 9) and I’ll absolutely be coming in again. Crêpe Symphony is a great little addition to the neighbourhood.
