Tribute is fairly new, and I’ve been there twice, but only inside once. The first time, I was standing outside for about an hour, the line wasn’t moving, and it was almost closing time. So my friends and I just went somewhere else. The second time I had went, it was almost the same predicament. Except my friends were inside, and I was alone, outside, trying to get in. I was in line for probably a bit over an hour, which usually isn’t that big of a deal, except it was in the –20s and I was in a dress and heels.(Big mistake I know.) Regardless, I honestly was considering leaving because I was sure I didn’t have any toes left. My only saving grace were a group of guys ahead of me in line. What started out as probably 20 people in line, soon dwindled to around 8 when time was passing and they weren’t letting anyone in. I figured the bar must have been extremely busy, because I maybe saw two people get in over the hour, after about six came out. Anyways, after a lot of people left, the guys took pity on me, and asked me to go in front of them.(Which I gladly did.) Then came the part where the bouncer would look at me in line, and then immediately turn to the other(what I assume was guestlist line) and talk to them. It was only after the guys behind me starting yelling at the bouncer to let me in that he even acknowledged me and took pity on me. Once inside I was a bit irritated, as the bar was not even close to being full. Probably only a quarter of the people you’d find at places like Squires or The Rack. Leaving people outside to make the club seem ‘exclusive’ seemed not right. Anyways, bartenders were taking shots for themselves, trying to keep up with orders, but you couldn’t even yell your order to them because of the horrible drum player who was attempting to play drums in time to a random mix of rap and R&B. Weirdest kind of music mishmash I’ve ever watched. I was told the drums weren’t there are regular nights, and I’m thankful for that, because it was extremely awkward to watch/dance. The crowd is primarily early 20s, university students, with a good mix of ethnicities. The only thing that made me a little mad/annoyed during the whole night was when we were dancing, and the next thing I know, it’s raining napkins! Quite literally the employees were handing out stacks of bar napkins to patrons and then they all«made it rain» on the dance floor by using the napkins the same way a person would use dollar bills. Apparently this happens almost every weekend. Not only is it extremely wasteful, but the floor gets disgusting! The napkins stick to it, and turn into a big mushy mess. Not to mention they stick to your heels, so it looks like you’ve got toilet paper stuck to your shoe! What a terrible waste and a terrible mess. Completely unnecessary. Bottom line, I’d only come back if my friends insisted, but I won’t be bringing anyone there myself.

Tribute is a fairly new bar. It’s really classy inside. Nice space. 2 bars. Friday night had a good DJ, He played mostly hip hop, r&b. There was a very young group of people. GREATDANCERS! Had fun but I’ll be looking for something different next time.
