Who knew you could enjoy coffee and treats in a green house in Little Italy!!! My friend invited me here for a coffee date on a beautiful Sunday morning. The green house has a great selection of herbs, plants and perennials. Attached next door is their café and gift shop with trinkets, kitchen gadgets and many gift ideas. I love the variety of beautiful floral arrangements placed in the store for purchase. There were lots of traffic in this cute local gem.

Zocalo has great coffee, a greenhouse and supports local artists works. I will be back many more times and I look forward to each visit! I usually only go for an americano and sit in the greenhouse at the long table and enjoy the sun while writing in my notebook or reading a book. I love that they provide a dark chocolate square with each coffee/tea as it hits the spot once you’re done. I’ve only ever had a bowl of soup here so I’m not really gonna rate the food but everything looks decently priced and made fresh regularly.

Always the greatest service! My husband and I love this place for its variety of options! It is always a pleasure being able to walk a block away and be on the doorstep of such a wonderful shop. Exceptional, honest service. We will be back again and again. Our daughter, who’s three, even gets excited. Keep up the good work!

I absolutely love this place! It’s exactly the kinds of business I would open myself. Their coffee is good, amazing hot chocolate, yummy snacks… and plants! They have a wonderful selection of plants, including some that I had been searching for to add to my collection.

Must. Have. Decaf. Expresso. And did I tell you about the chocolate almond torte? Share with someone special. Chocolate almond feel good high. The truffles, oh they call me but I haven’t yet answered. I’m only pretending to play hard to get, as I’m still buying flowers some of their flowers for my garden vases. I’ve not been disappointed by their plants in the past, so I’m forgoing these sweets until I’ve bought all my garden treats. More costly than some but the plants are healthy. Funky little things abound here and if I had the budget I’d splurge more, but they do have some things I can always afford. Horizontal bud vases, colourful pots and tiles, garden knick knacks. Great for little hostess gifts. A lovely and unusual variety of fresh flowers. Very clever designer porcelain, fabric and other pieces too. Check out the floral display now = soccer ball has 200 carnations and the sneakers are brilliant. Special ambience inside greenhouse with country table or in the store at bistro set to just chill and enjoy your coffee.

What a happy destination in Edmonton! On a dreary winter day, it is such a great treat to surround yourself with beautiful plants and flowers, home décor and a cute little bakery/coffee shop. Bakery — THEBEST hot chocolate I’ve had in my life. Seriously. Great selection of coffees and other cold drinks. And treat yourself to truffles(espresso one is fantastic), cakes and more. Flowers — Fresh, beautiful, great selection. Plants — So many choices including framed living walls(I would love one in either white or orange if you’re buying!), potted plants and more, in a range of pricing. Great shop — if you’re looking for the most unique gifts at all price points, check it out! This past weekend we browsed through the shop and grabbed coffee to sit in the bistro chairs by the window, also conveniently located by the flower cooler, and chill with a book. It was a great place to be and we look forward to visiting again!

Now that I’m the duchess of Zocalo, I guess I should write another review?(Disclaimer: I live right around the corner now, so I’m here all the time.) There are so many pretty things here, and I find myself feeling happier just by wandering around inside. It’s my go-to place for fresh flowers(a weekly indulgence), which are always gorgeous and reasonably priced for the season(and never anything nasty, wilted, or just plain ugly). I love the vases, dishes, kitchen toys, potted plants, and everything else, just as I always have. My landlady calls it the $ 999 Knickknack Store, but it’s really not that dramatic(which isn’t to say I could afford just anything in there, because I certainly can’t). But I always manage to find something I want in there, and often gifts for friends as well. It’s rapidly becoming my favourite coffee shop, too. I love sucking down an Americano in the humid greenhouse every other morning. I’ve also discovered that they carry Dry soda, which is delicious and not too sweet(try the cucumber flavour!). It’s been the perfect thing several afternoons in a row now.

I only shop here for my flowers, and also try and buy gifts here as well. I can’t say enough great things about this place. The flowers are fresh and great prices. When they have sales, they’re great too. Staff is always helpful when I need something. They have some treats and a coffee bar, delicious offerings!

Does it get better than Zocalo’s for a Winter afternoon’s walk on a lunch break? No, it does not! Located in the heart of Little Italy, this little gem boasts a second room that has a warm and bright greenhouse feel that is perfect to warm up and soak up some sunshine on a chilly winter Edmonton afternoon. The espresso bar will give you a shot of what you need to perk up before you head back to work! Like the other reviewers have mentioned, the price is what you would expect for a moderate to high end floral shop. Gifts, gardening supplies, dessert, coffee, sunshine… What’s not to love about Zocalos in Little Italy?

Zocalo is a lovely little shop located in Little Italy. Offering gifts, gardening tools and supplies, and beautiful fresh flowers, the shop also serves dessert and coffee. This is best enjoyed in the humid and sunny greenhouse portion of the building. You can definitely escape the bitter cold of an Alberta winter in here. The price point is what you’d expect from a moderate/high-end floral shop. Staff are helpful, and the vibe is cozy, cute and relaxing. Throw in a tour of the Italian Centre, and a yoga class at Lotus Soul, and you have the makings of a perfect weekend afternoon.

This funky flower shop meets home décor shot meets cappuccino café is a fabulous little place located at the beginning our our(very little) little Italy. Upon first walking through the doors of this beautiful shop, your nose is greeted with a wonderful aroma of flowers of all different varieties. The ones that really stood out for me were the orchids, but maybe that is because I love orchids. They really do have wonderful ones here. They have them in all different colors for about $ 30 a «set.» The other thing you are greeted with when you first walk in is the smell of fresh coffee. It may seem like an odd combination but it is deliriously wonderful. There is certainly something special about the smell of Italian coffee. After your nose gets used to the wonderful smells wafting around this store, your eyes are enlightened by all the different colors and cool vases in the room. This place has some of the most unique vases I have ever seen in Edmonton. They also don’t JUST carry vases. They also have tablecloths, napkins, wine racks, coffee mugs, pots, glasses, and tiny art pieces. Zocalo is filled with beautiful gifts for yourself and others. I came here in the winter and saw that they also have a little patio outside, so I will definitely be checking it out come patio weather! Prices are a little higher for some things, but I think the quality is also well matched so it is worth the extra penny.

Zocalo which is located in Edmonton’s Italian district sells beautiful flowers and everything one may need to display these flowers proudly. This store is worth checking out if you are looking for a bouquet for a special occasion or if there is a woman in your life who enjoys gardening. Zocalo carries unique vases, pots, decorative objects, and of course live plants and flowers. There are also occasional bowls, masks, table linens and glassware. Some of the items which are imported and look particularly unique, cost a lot of money. How would you like a hand blown vase for $ 1000? My mom enjoys gardening, so I will be coming back to Zocalo looking for unique plants, but I wouldn’t shop here for myself.

This is a really cool store I first discovered when leaving Lotus Soul Gym, located next door. I was told about the beautiful things they have so I had to take a peek. Your eyes are serenaded with an orchestra of colour as you step into the shop. There’s a rich selection of hand-painted pots and vases, some blown-glass ones that are unique, and many other items including dish wear, kitchen décor, table clothes and more. They have a small café selling muffins and tea, and it seems that some people conduct daytime small business meetings here. A great place to pop in if you’re in the area, grab a coffee have a chat or close a deal. There’s also a gorgeous small garden centre attached, with more beautiful pots and hanging plants, or just a tranquil walk through to decompress during a hectic day.

Zocalo is a very unique shop in Little Italy. It sells all kinds of goodies for your home and garden, including hard to find, one of a kind, and imported bowls, vases, and items you may never even have though of before you visit the store. Prices range from inexpensive to thousands of dollars for some of the more intricate ceramic and glass pieces. Zocalo also always has a wonderful selection of potted plants and fresh flowers. During gardening season, find bedding plants and all of the supplies you’ll need to make your garden look its best. The courtyard hasa variety of unusual garden items such as a fountain, ornaments, and all kinds of different trees. The selection depends upon the season. Zocalo is also the perfect place if you simply need a bouquet of beautiful flowers for that special someone. Relax for a while at the espresso bar, and enjoy a freshly brewed latte, mocha, or Americano, all served with a small piece of chocolate. There is also a variety of teas, muffins, cold drinks, and other snacks.
