Hands down, one the best places to grab a bite in Fort Langley! They’re wonderful because they have dairy & gluten free bakery options, and their dishes are so, so, SO amazing! I can’t even begin to start praising it! They’re attached to a bookstore, and are meant to be more of a café style, but realistically speaking they’re so busy they should be a restaurant. If you visiting for the first time, parking can be found in the back or on the streets, and don’t be surprised if the line up is almost out the door if it’s near lunch or dinner time. Customer service is always on par! Staff here are knowledgable about the dishes they have available, and when they’re crazy busy and wait times are long, they’ve been known to offer a drink or pastry on the house to apologize for the wait. Speaking of wait times… there have been times where I’ve gone and it’s a 40 min wait for a meal. Pretty brutal, and I wish they were better staffed for rushes like that, but unless they decide to expand, that’s always going to be a risk for dining in or eating out. So, if you’re on a lunch break, best to call in advance for take out! Every item on their menu is delicious! Breakfast is the best if you get there early enough. If not, their lunch and dinner options will still be yummy in your tummy!

I wanted to check this place out for quite some time. Minimal seating and a huge line up. We thought about trying somewhere else for brunch for just a second. I’m glad we didn’t. You line up to place your order at the counter & they give you a block number to put on your table. There was only 2 of us so he quickly nabbed a table when one became available & I waited in line to order. The lineup moved quickly & our food came out promptly. He had the farmers omelette w/sourdough & I had the portobello & goat cheese omelette w/brown toast & a side of bacon(of course). He was certain his meat was not farmers sausage but ham, so that was disappointing. And my bacon wasn’t that great. very salty & meh. But the omelettes were delish regardless of the ham sitch & the jam they serve w/the toast was very yummy. I’d like to go back to try their lunch items & many many choices of baked goodies.

Wow! This place is a little bonkers in terms of how busy it is, but it is busy for a reason, it is awesome. Every item we had was delicious and made with love. The Salmon Burger was awesome, as was the salad, the dressing, the Yam burrito and the Potato Leek Soup. Even the coffee and smoothies were fantastic. Its expensive, but they can get away with it, because everything is so good. The book store adds a quirky charm that makes this place special. Ideal weekend destination.

Great place for but too busy with tourists? Has those people that sit at a table all day with one cup of coffee and the paper, same people that read books and magazines all day at Chapters but never buy. Good, coffee and service always great which makes this coffee shop always packed! Plus those pet owners that monopolize the outside seats thinking others like their dogs as much as them. Can smell like spca sometimes. To bad there in inconsiderate people…

The frappés here are delicious! Outside seating is dog-friendly with a nice view. Wraps and sandwiches here taste fresh and with lots of variety. Keep in mind it can get busy so service may be slow and seats can get taken up quickly.

Love this place! I could eat here everyday. Try the hot avocado chicken wrap with sundried tomato mayo only gave 4 stars because the room is a bit tight and you end up eating your meal next to the people in the line up(which there always is one since everyone loves this place) but all in all, I always come back. Feels like a coffee shop but you can get such great dishes! Please bring back the amazing spinach dip!

Used to come here ages ago and now I don’t even give it a second thought. They use«Moja» coffee which tastes like burnt dirt and it doesn’t help much that their baristas have no idea what they are doing. Their baked goods have deteriorated throughout the years. The gluten free products that they sell are thought of in a healthier light than the others although, their gluten free brownie has more than 45g of sugar… However the actual meals that they serve is relatively the same as what it used to be, mediocre and not good enough to match the prices that they charge.

Always good. Lineup indicates so! Hot drinks, baked goods, lunch and dinner are always good. Good start to a walk or day outside. Lovely to sit outside even when it’s raining or cold. Covered patio with heat lamps.

I’ve made the trek to fort langley multiple times specifically so I could go to wendels. They’re comfort food is always so comforting and delicious. And who doesn’t love good books and great food all in one place? I really wish this place was bigger though, every time I go, there at least a line of 5 or 6 people in front of me. Worth every second of the wait :)

This restaurant makes me wanna come back to fort Langley every single time for their amazing good and pastry. Their service is amazing and they really care about your opinion as a customer. I’ve visited the restaurant in different occasions including Father’s Day and it always fulfils all my expectations of what an spectacular restaurant should be like. You can always bring your dog and sit outside to enjoy the fresh weather.

Beautiful atmosphere inside and out… if you can get a seat. Not easy to eat with kids. Food and drinks are delicious but maybe a bit pricey.

This place is great! For a café, the food is homemade, fresh, and delicious. They have ample healthy and indulgent meals and snacks suitable for all hungry types. The prices are a bit expensive considering you don’t get served($ 12 for wrap and salad) — more align with restaurant but you don’t necessarily need to tip. The big downside is the environment– super noisy and crowded; hard to find a table on most days.

The excellent food almost makes up for the crowded atmosphere — don’t expect to get a seat with parties of more than 2 or 3. No wifi, and they don’t seem to be a fan of extended studying or business sessions, but a great place to grab a delicious lunch & latte! Wild salmon and goat cheese salad is phenomenal.

I saw their booth at the Gluten Free Expo 2015. They had samples of their ginger cookies = amazing and moist and I purchased an entire flat of gluten free, egg free Nanaimo Bars. The people at the booth were super friendly.

Coming back from a rainy trip to the zoo, Wendel’s was a haven of refuge for my soaking wet feet. And they have big fat juicy gluten free butter tarts. You can’t really ask for more can you?(Although, they could serve me a butter tart in a cold, damp, prison cell and I would probably give them a decent rating.) They also have gluten free bread and wraps so I want to go back for lunch and give them a try. Their menu is small but it looks tasty. The décor is nice and cozy. It seems fairly busy so probably going on a rainy day is smart. We also tried the quinoa date square but it was lame. If you have a stroller, go in the side door. And be prepared to have little room for navigation. There are some books on the one side but WHOCARES. I came for the FOOD. haha Actually I will probably look at the books next time.

Fabulous little café. The sandwich was a panini style turkey and pesto. So good. Also homemade soups. Great place for a Saturday lunch while walking Fort Langley. Get someone ahead of you to grab a table though as these are hard to find. They also have an awesome breakfast menu until 1230 on weekends. Great for the ones who sleep in. Definitely recommended. The food was awesome home cooking.
