I have been to Planet Bean a few times now and love their coffee. Wish they offered more of a selection for snacks and food to grab on the go. The atmosphere is ok, not a lot of space to sit down though. The location is very convenient for those who are going/coming from the Guelph Go Station.

I have been here a couple of times already. I first found it on my way to the early morning GO Train and ended up with a great coffee and a fantastic muffin.

Great service, great atmosphere and their lattes and London fogs are the best in town. The baked goods selection is limited, but everything is fresh, flavourful and thoughtfully prepared. The gelato is incredible and the atmosphere is exactly what you would want from an independent local café. Put down the Tim’s and Starbucks and check out Planet Bean.

Possibly the best coffee on the planet. It’s ait LOUD inside, so not great for studying. Try the gluten free cookies!

The best coffee!!! But sometimes(about half the time) the service isn’t great(read: rude). A really nice atmosphere to sit and read a book or chat(once you get your latte and get away from the grumpy baristas!)

Man! The dude behind the counter with a nose ring, etc… knows how to make a latte that is 10 on the richter scale. I dropped by on a Sat afternoon with some friends and this fellow did a masterful job. Not only is it done perfectly, but he also throws a cool art design on it. Its a small place, a few tables, but hey, it is the best latte in town as far as I am concerned. So Kudos to Planet Bean. Great staff, and service. I’ll Be back, next visit to Guelph

I am in here every workday morning to fill my thermos mug with dark roast goodness. The coffee here is the best in the city and the staff cares about how they brew it. A bit pricey but worth it.

Great local business in a prime location. The place itself is small but the floor to ceiling windows give a nice frame to the downtown Guelph scene. I ordered the feta bagel sandwich and the carmel latte(which is worth all the hype). Good food — fast service and supporting a non-chain business… two thumbs up!

I have probably been to everyplace in town that serves coffee, and this is the place to go. I try to come down every week or two to get my caramel latte. They are delicious, they are reasonably priced for a medium at 3.77 with a flavour shot, and they do use organic milk. I love how they have mastered their latte designs, they are always so pretty. I await summer every year because this is the only time that you can get their delicious iced lattes and iced coffees. You can order them plain, but the addition of either vanilla or caramel really elevates this beverage.

I am not afraid of giving 5 star reviews. Planet Bean is wicked. The Orange floor, yellow walls and reddish pink curtains are awesome and make any hipster wannabe feel at home. I moved to Guelph 2 days ago. The first place I visited was Second Cup on College and Gordon. It had nice seating but the Americano was lackluster and commercial tasting. What did me in was the sneaky WiFi that didn’t let you get past the welcome screen. What to do in a new city akin to hick-ville — or so I thought — without a decent cup of Java? I found my way over to Planet Bean and ordered a super tasty Americano. It tastes like Seattle in here. The alternative music blaring and Vinyl records shop across the street are very convincing too. Inside, you will be greeted with greenery. Every table is anchored with an over-sized mug topped with soil and some sort of plant I can’t name. The lighting is soft and jives well with the music and colour scheme. It’s a cozy place but there are bar stools tucked away all over to accommodate a rush of people. The barista is attractive, cheerful and knows her stuff. Prices here are slightly higher than what I’m used to in Canada. An Americano will run you $ 2.50. I haven’t tried anything else yet. It doesn’t look like there is any food served other than a few baked goods. The place unfortunately closes early in the evening. That’s enough to knock off a star but the coffee was made well enough to make up for it. You can consider this your morning to Noonish spot and cut out the Starbucks. As I look around, every table is taken and it seems like I’m the only guy in here. I’ll end with that and start getting some work done. p. s. I forgot to mention the free wifi, 2-hour parking and *plugs*!

In my opinion, this is the only place in town worth going for a latte or an americano. They give a shit about the product they put across the counter, and what’s more, they know what they’re doing. They roast their own beans and sell a great variety in the store as well. Prices are excellent, coffee is delicious(if you sit in, you get a free refill!), employees are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is warm(complete with WiFi). They also do latte art! They made one with a heart in it for me to surprise my boyfriend with :) If you like coffee and live in Guelph, there’s really no excuse for not having been here yet.
