I went to Chatters in Bayers Lake to get my make up done before my birthday party with my friend, i don’t usually go out to get my make up done because i will just do it myself but today i was not feeling up to the task since i had so much prepping to do. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but i would not recommend the make up artist i saw, Tara. I brought in a photo of a smokey cat eye i wanted to get my only request was that she add more black than silver then the photo showed, easy enough to do, i have done it many times myself. While i was getting my make up done Tara would stop, look at me and clap, as if congratulating herself, she did this several times through the process and telling me she thought i would love it. When she showed me the final outcome i was extremely disappointed; The make up she applied was caked on, i was extremely powdery and when i smiled creases were left on my face from how much make up was on my face. The eyeshadow was not cat eye or blended very well, and when she filled in my eyebrows she rounded them so i looked very clown-like. When i got home i had to wash off 90% of what this woman put on my face and i had to fill in and shape my eyeshadow myself. Over all a terrible experience and i would not recommend anyone seeing this woman as my friend turned out orangey and was also very upset with her makeup.

After wanting to get my hair done for a few weeks, I decided to take the advice of one of my girlfriend’s and booked an appointment with Ashley F at Chatters. I’d never even darkened the door of this place, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Walking in, I felt like I was going into Sally Beauty — products EVERYWHERE. It was hard to see the cash and the person working, but I gave my name and browsed the product selection. They have lots of great products and the prices are quite reasonable. I saw signage for promotions but didn’t pay much attention to them. I was sitting in the chair before my designated appointment(I LOVE when that happens), and Ashley was fantastic. I had a full head of foils done — and I mean a full head, that girl packs the foils in like it’s nobody’s business — as well as a trim and I am so pleased with the results! Ashley was incredibly professional, easy to talk to and she did a wonderful job — she definitely has a new client in me. Each month, Chatters gives away a different free product to their colour clients. I think this is a fantastic idea. I also received a welcome package with coupons such as 20% off products in the store, $ 10 off a haircut and a free shampoo service! They offer a loyalty program as well, giving you one point per dollar before taxes — at 300 points, you receive a 10% off coupon. Although the prices are a bit steep, I don’t mind paying for better product and exemplary service. I’m pretty attached to my hair. The atmosphere of the Salon is pretty standard, but the stylists are lovely and the clients are obviously enjoying themselves. I have several weeks before I need to go back, but I will definitely be back.

I will have to agree with Laura on the Chatters Hair Salon. It is not my scene at all. Although I did not get a hair cut there, I just did not get the feel I wanted when I walked in. It seems like a mass production chain without the personality. Some might like this, but I will pass.

Chatters is another chain salon swooping its stakes through the East Coast. With its big-city mannerisms and the full spectrum of services, Chatters boasts the upscale product and a glossy salon style. This place has a certain flashy-flash about it that seems just a wee gimmicky. Perhaps suitable for the right girl, but for this girl– me– Chatters seemed a little too intense. The gal who swoons over fancy product, hair extensions, and the ultra primped nightlife look are more apt to get down with the interior design here. While friendly and well staffed, I just can’t get comfortable in the provided settings. My stop-in included a looksie and brief chat with reception… but I’ll take my own tresses to softer, less forced circumstances.
