Walked by the store countless times, yet I never bothered to venture inside. ‘Cause let’s face it, this is Halifax– not exactly a tropical oasis(sure you get sunny days, but the way the climate is down here, your color-changing gear may not be visible at all if the fog rolls in!) Well, I finally stopped by a few weeks back when I discovered my fiancé and I were heading to the Dominican in March for an engagement-iversary gift. Awesome!-somewhere I could actually test these products! They actually have a great assortment of products to choose from, for kids and adults likewise. They have t-shirts and cover-ups for women, but I’m not so fond of those; I prefer their accessories. I wound up buying these cute flower hair clips, earrings, an tote bag for my beachy belongings and a couple bottles of nail polish. Now I dunno if these will actually work just yet, but even if they turn out to be a dud, they’re so gosh darn cute that I’m a-ok with them just the way they are

Well the tag-line here states that everything in the store changes color. Not particularly a pull for me personally, but hey, I’ll give this place a shot. Walking in, Del Sole appears to be another small waterfront locale to tend to the tourists. Cruise ship visitors may find something quick and easy to grab, as Del Sol hosts an array of apparel for adults and children, flip flops, miscellaneous trinkets and accessories. A specially designed display shelf allows customers to observe the«color change» abilities of the product with specially paneled counter tops. Are you amazed? I’m all for rainbows, but I think I’ll stick to skittles. A nice idea, this isn’t something I’d actually invest in. Although browsers looking for a special gift for kids or that quirky pal may be some luck.

Color changing in the sun products. Ready for some pranks? Okay. This is what you do. A friend of mine who worked on the cruise ships told me about this practical joke. You buy some of the invisible nail polish that changes to a bright pink in the sun. You wait for your father or male friend to fall asleep on the couch. You apply a generous amount of the invisible nail polish to his nails and wait for him to go out in the sun! I did this on my father. And yes, he did run back into the house screaming after five minutes wondering if we had to take him to the hospital. The only problem was we were laughing too hard to tell him it was only a prank. This is the kind of fun you can have with the products at Del Sol. Their staff are friendly enough and helpful. The store is located on the waterfront in downtown Halifax and is a franchise and with many locations in the Caribbean. I was happy to see them open a store here even though their items aren’t that fashionable and really lose their appeal after a while. But their Frisbee’s work fine and some of their sunglasses are pretty cool. So its a fun store to stop by and pick up material for a party or a prank. And if you are walking around with the kids and need them to be distracted for a few minutes, this is definitely a place you can take them.

These shops are everywhere in the Caribbean and in Mexico, so I usually associate this store chain with warm climate regions. Pretty surprised to see a store up this far north. For those who don’t know, this store specializes in apparel and accessories that change with light. We probably would not have gone into this store, if were not for a coupon from the ship for a free gift from this store. Well just the word«free» was enough to bring my wife and kids to this place. The kids got a plastic color-changing ring. Oh well. One our our friends bougnt a color changing canvas bag, but unfortunatly, the handle started to wear down after the 3rd day.
