This place is a dive. I can’t believe it was busy. The bad: Ceaser was made with tomato juice instead of Clamato juice, we weren’t told, they just tried to pass it off as a proper cocktail. Steak was way over done & thin and pain ugly! Pepsi tasted like soda water. No syrup at all. Fries were partly raw and limp and no salt Wings came cold & with sauce on the side??? The good: Server was nice Gave our son a toy from the toy chest(he picked an eraser) Loud kids don’t stand out because the place is loud In conclusion every bit of the food & drinks were TERRIBLE! But everything besides the food and drinks was very good.

We went for a night out with friends and it was anything but a fun experience. We waited 25 minutes just standing in line, no one took our name or asked us anything. Then when its finally our turn to approach the all mighty podium of napkin folding, the hostess looks at us and asks«do you have your name in?». Well f@#k me no i dont. I was unaware i had to give my name because theres no sign or any indication to do so. Finally we get a table after waiting about 40minutes and the food was definitely not worth the wait. We went for the all you can eat wings and things deal. I ordered the thai chicken bites and wings and was completely disappointed. The thai bites were salty and rubbery and the chicken wings were deep fried to the point of being disintegrated. They looked more like hummingbird wings as opposed to chicken wings. On top of all of it, we ordered a peach sangria and it came with loads of ice, no crushed fruit and mold floating on the top and in the drink. BLACKDISGUSTINGMOLD. Then the waitress has the audacity to ask if we want the drink taken off our bill. Well laa dee f@#$ing daaa there’s a brilliant idea. TLDR long wait, bad food, moldy drinks. Bar rescue should visit this place.

Went in on Saturday, Feb 7th2015 at 8pm with my boyfriend. Our nachos were not hot when we received them, nor were they delicious. Very very bland. I didn’t mind much because I was looking forward to our meal and I love nachos regardless. Well, his french onion soup tasted not only watered down, but sharp due to burnt onions. Yuck. And I actually sent back my chicken linguine carbonera because the noodles were undercooked and the sauce was not only bland and too runny, but tasted like a pasta that comes in a 25 cent box. Extremely cheap, yet sold as a $ 14 dish. Side note(neither of these were hot either) They offered to replace my dish and I said never-mind because everything we ordered thus far was just not restaurant quality. They offered us a free dessert as an apology, which we accepted. We ordered the chimi-cheesecakes. When I took my first bite, everything just fell out the end because the dough was undercooked. I didn’t eat any more of it. Raw dough turns my stomach. Had it been crispy like they should be, it would have stayed in tact. Also — the sauce was cherry and I hate cherry. We ordered triple berry because the menu states that its a raspberry sauce that is drizzled over, which is our favorite. It’s most definitely our very last visit to Jungle Jims in Bayers Lake, unless they replace their chef. He/she clearly doesn’t know how to properly cook or prepare anything. Our waitress was great and very kind and apologetic, but we don’t go to a restaurant for the service, so much as the good food which is the main priority.

To me, I’m not sure why people go here. I remember i use to go here when i was younger with my parents, but recently I dropped in for a late night dinner and wow. Yes i know it’s called ‘Jungle Jims’ so the décor needs to be jungly, but it feels so old, having the same décor since the late 90’s… Not to mention the food is still the same, not much flavor in anything, everything’s deep fried and you just feel like crap when you leave. Until things are updated i wont be returning.

Have eaten here a few times many years ago, with the most memorable part of trying the Jim’s JUMBO Hurricane(46 oz of luscious fruit juices and three flavours of rum blended with Jim’s secret ingredient! 12.99 — current version on the menu) but remember at the time, it being five or six flavours of rum and maybe a higher price. It alone was worth the trip. Can’t say I really remember what I ate at the time because it was too long ago, and generally I find chain restaurant food to be average/unmemorable to begin with. My recent visit on a drizzly, fall Friday evening wasn’t bad. We were seated right away in a booth, which are styled in a Tiki hut fashion, with lots of colorful, loud décor throughout, including a fish aquarium at the entrance and large main bar in the center. Maybe six to eight regular tables and eight to ten booths altogether? Definitely more of a family restaurant than I generally patronize, but just felt like going again since it had been so long(I like variety and hate eating at the same restaurants constantly). Tried two of the fun drinks: Banana Mama(Appleton Jamaica Rum, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Banana Liqueur, Grenadine, OJ& Pineapple juice over ice), and the Swamp Water(blend of exotic rums and fruit juices). $ 9.49 for Jungle Size for both, equally delicious but very filling. Almost felt the diabetes kicking in! As a vegetarian, I was limited to a few options, so went with the safe veggie quesadillas with a side Caesar and cup of small guac for dipping.(Mixed cheese and peppers melted in a white tortilla. Served with salsa, sour cream 10.99). Very enjoyable, but find it’s hard to screw up quesadillas unless you managed to burn them somehow, or didn’t put in any ingredients. The Caesar was loaded in parmesan but in a good way and I’ve actually had a minor craving for this one ever since. I think this made my meal, as the standard Uncle Ben’s rice(!) that comes on the plate would not have cut it for me. When I read it on the menu, I giggled that they use it, but give them credit for the honesty. The other in my party ordered the Inferno Burger(«Wild Buffalo bacon, dusted ‘n’ fried jalapeños, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato and INFERNO mayo!» 11.99) which he gave an 8.5 out of 10 and would get again, but without his cocktail as well(was so full by the end, he complained about pains the whole way home in the car). Friendly, efficient service. Although it wouldn’t likely be anytime soon, I would definitely go back here if someone requested it that I was with…

Today I went to jungle Jim’s to have lunch with my father. When we entered the music was a little bit to loud(but it is somewhat a bar) there was a big selection on the menu but I stuck to the lunch menu. I got the quesadilla which comes with a side salad. The good * the quesadilla tasted good lots of flavour * the Caesar salad was amazing great taste and I had a lemon with it which made the taste better The bad * to many peppers in the quesadilla and to less of chicken * small portion size. Other than that a great place to have a quick lunch. Hope you all enjoy !!

Had not been here in years and then I remembered why. Thought it would be fun for the kids but it was deep fried everything and not really fun for anyone. It’s certainly not the place I remember it as when I was younger but most things are not.

It has potential but so does communism. Just serve real food. If you look at my plate and see the food is burnt don’t bring it to the table. Also it never hurts to check on a table and see if they need anything else. Over all a terrible experience.

Well today was my Granddaughter Amber’s Birthday and my son Rick and Daughter In Law April decided we are going to Jungle Jim’s, I have to say that I was a bit Skeptical due to the Dart. Location which was not a good experience for me. But I thought hey i’ll give it a go… we were greeted by our Waitress Courtney who was very attentive to our needs, as well as the Owner Operator Bruce who sat us at our table, we ordered our appetizers Triple Dipper and SpudMANIA… Fantastic they both were. Then I had the Great Big Splash which was served as an Order of Fish and Chips by mistake they brought me my Scallops and Shrimp and discounted my meal… which was so unexpected. Rick April and Amber also had great meals… we then ordered the desert Chimi-Cheese Cake… all i can say is OMG… delicious. My overall rating is a 5 star but would for sure give a 10 Star… Great staff Great Food and felt so appreciated as a customer that i would definitely be dining there again. So Thank You Jungle JIm’s for my Great Eating Experience goes to show you that one bad Apple doesn’t spoil the whole basket. Deb

Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and now … Jungle Jims. It has been years since I’ve visited Jungle Jims. In fact I don’t think I’ve been there since first moving to HFX for University. JJs was always favorite of mine in my younger years, It’s where we celebrated birthdays or just wanted a fun place out to eat, but now that I;m older, my palette more experienced in the ways of food, that in a recent visit to JJs was very disheartening as I realized the quality of the food they make. The chicken Taquitos were served luke warm, and the flavour was bland I realized the chicken in my pasta was processed chicken cut into strips and the sauce had a watered down cheesy taste to it, I don’t think it was a bad night in service, as everything tasted just like I remembered :’(

We really only ever go for Wing Night(Wednesday) so I can’t comment on much else since I’ve probably only ever been there twice any other night. Wing Night is awesome! Not a fan of wings? That’s ok! You can also get fries, taquitos, and more for the price of wing night and you’re allowed to mix and match. Even when it gets busy the food arrives fast and hot! Usually, the servers will ask what your next dish will be as they’re serving you what you previously ordered to make this quick service possible. The servers are also really nice. You have to order a drink in order to get the special but honestly, you will want to anyway! Their drink selection is the best I’ve ever had! Try the Chocolate Monkey even though it sounds odd. It’s frikken amazing! Actually, just close your eyes and point to something off the drink menu. They’re all really tasty. So why 4 stars when I love this place? Because I never get a craving to go unless it’s Wing Night.

An awesome place to eat when you are under 12. Sheer terror when you are over the age of 13. The worst meal that I’ve ever had in Halifax was served here. I ordered a spicy Thai chicken wrap. What I got was sliced up, lukewarm chicken fingers, no sauce, in a cold wrap with a bit of lettuce and a smear of Miracle Whip. Yum. The service was fine, but I kept thinking the server was trying to warn us when we’d ask about certain items. Her eyes would go all crazy and we’d know to stay away. Good place for people with kids(the crazy décor is something I loved when I was younger), but not if you want something palatable to eat. The food was so bad I’m actually surprised that it has stayed open this long.

I used to love Jungle Jims when I was younger. And by younger I mean when I was in my early 20s and liked to drink hurricanes(because what’s better than a whole lot of liquor and juice right?). But now I have slightly more sophisticated tastes, and Jungle Jims doesn’t really do it for me anymore. The menu is pretty broad, which can be both good and bad. Good because there’s essentially something for everyone, bad because it’s obviously frozen fare. It tasted alright — but when buying a bowl of pasta you’d think they’d offer some fresh ground pepper or Parmesan. The garlic bread tasted like soft styrofoam to me. My fiancé’s meal was good, although not as spicy as he had hoped. Overall, it was ok. You can pretty much always count on the good selection, just don’t expect anything spectacular. Oh, and the liquor is still good(in smaller doses for me).

Jungle Jim’s. There’s not a whole lot to say: Jungle Jim’s serves up a varied menu of items designed to appeal to a wide clientele. Unfortunately, it appears that a lot of the items are merely defrosted from frozen, and that there is little care taken to the presentation of the food. A menu as wide as Jungle Jim’s can often mean that only a few things are done well, and this is the case at Jungle Jim’s. You’re probably safe with a salad, but their variety doesn’t extend past the token Greek and Caesar salads, with a house salad attempting a go as an Amazon salad(which is greens and cheese). Prices are decent, especially for what you get, and Jungle Jim’s can handle a crowd of people without too much fuss. If you’re not too fussy, Jungle Jim’s might suit you just fine.

What a fun place to eat! The atmosphere is great! Obviously the theme of the restaurant is a ‘jungle’(hence the name). I loved the big palm trees that surface the dinning room tables. We didn’t have any kids but the restaurant was packed with kids! In fact, it was incredibly noisy and a little too busy for my liking. I sort of felt as if I was in a jungle! The prices are reasonable and the food was your average Canadian favourites. I would have rathered a different meal. I had the nachos and I found them to be overcooked and bland tasting.

Jungle Jims has been a place we wanted to try for some time. It lived up to our expectations. Fun atmosphere, casual attire and great staff. The safari look inside works well for this place and the menu reflects it as well. We liked the Crocodile Skins. It is a great place to take kids, you can relax eating here, no one will be upset if you make some noise.

Jungle Jims is a fun and great place to go for a birthday or other group event. The restaurant boasts a safari theme with bright colours and crazy jungle decorations throughout. It’s a great place for kids and adults, with free children’s toys and children’s menu items. Jungle Jims offers a terrific menu with items like Crocodile Skins, Amazon Salad, St Louis Rhino Ribs, and the Kitchen Sink(a bit of all their favorites). They also have a Slim Jim menu with a selection of lighter items, and are famous for their Jumbo Hurricanes, a 46 oz rum cocktail drink, priced at $ 12. While the prices may be a little steeper than average, for the fun you have, it’s worth it.
