I was pretty excited to see another ALL-U-CAN eat Sushi place in town. We went there and was disappointed. We order Salmon Sashimi twice and the first time it was Atlantic Salmon, good and fresh. But the second time it was those cheap frozen Pacific Salmon!!! We also ordered Maki rolls but they used A LOTTTT of rice!!! It is really bad even for an ALL-U-CAN eat! Will never go there.

First I don’t understand why people have to complain and compare this place to Milamodo? Who cares if it looks the same?! Also Halifax is NOT a great place for Sushi. If anything cities like Halifax have ruined it for me. You’ve probably never been anywhere outside NS to have Sushi, because if you did… you would be as disappointed as I am on finding a decent place to get it. Sure there are plenty of other places to have Sushi and if an all you can eat Sushi is what you’re looking for, you would probably say Happy Sushi is the place to go… which is Horseshit! With that said, I know people who love sushi. L O V E it! Has anyone actually had authentic real Japanese Sushi? If so. you’ll know that sushi is not expensive. and it’s not fancy. it’s actually considered a snack. I really enjoyed my meal here for the three times I’ve been. I have nothing to complain about except that it’s always empty. The food was right-on, the service was awesome and we were in and out within a reasonable time.(Probably because we were the only ones there) Try something else besides a typical California Roll and Udon. Anyone can make that crap. Anyway, it’s good sushi for what Halifax offers. For those who thought their rolls were«OK» or «nothing special» … you’re an idiot! Just because Hamachi’s(for example) is more expensive, downtown and where the«cool kids» go doesn’t make it «special». What the hell does«special» even mean? That there wasn’t a Geisha there to give you a happy ending? Come On!

I’ve gone to Kagami 3 times since it’s opened. Twice for lunch and once for dinner. Sushi was good, not the best I’ve ever had but definitely nothing to complain about! Appetizers were also good, small portions to give you a chance to try a bit of everything. The all you can eat option is a great idea and for a good price as well! I really enjoyed that aspect of it.(I had it all 3 times!) Service is good. It was the same waitress all three times I went and the most recent time there was also another waitress there. Both were helpful and nice and provided quick service. I was there this past Friday and, like the previous reviewer noted, there were a lot of fans instead of air conditioning but when I commented on the weather the waitress told me their air conditioner is on the fritz and will hopefully be working soon. I’m hoping ‘soon’ isn’t like their alcohol option, which I was told they’d be getting soon aswell. That’s right folks, no sake as of yet and it really doesn’t seem like they’re trying too hard to get alcohol. Other than having no alcoholic beverages, this place has a lot of potential and I look foreword to going again!

Halifax has tonns of sushi places. That being said, Kagami Sushi is not my fave. The all-you-can-eat feature is new to Halifax, this is the second one to open in the last few months. For all-you-can-eat, the prices are actually pretty decent costing about $ 24 per person at suppertime. The rolls were well OK I suppose. There was nothing really special about them. I enjoyed their apps much more then the maki. The sashimi was small pieces. Service was good! The waitress was always topping up our glasses with water and when she brought something we didn’t order she replaced it with no hassle. Milamodo Sushi used to occupy this space, and it still looks like they do. Nothing has changed inside, except the sushi itself. Also, do not go here on a hot day. There is no A/C, there are fans that blow your napkins everywhere though! All-in-all, an ok experience but it could’ve been better.

Kagami sushi is now in the same location that Milamodo sushi once occupied. I believe the site is under new management, as they also have a new business platform, which is all-you-can-eat! I’ve been here twice in the past few weeks. Once for lunch, and once for supper. Both times, I went for the all-you-can-eat option. I believe lunch was around $ 12, and supper was approximately $ 24. Both the sushi and service was great. I especially liked the spring rolls, so I would definitely recommend those. I’ll definitely be returning in the near future for more.
