I have to say I was really upset that this place closed! It was one of my fave sushi restaurants! I can also say I’m not surprised it closed. Ever since it changed hands it has continuously gone downhill. the recipes slowly changed, the spicy became spicier and the service seemed lacking. I miss the good ol’ days of great Milamodo Sushi!

I’m Britt, and I’m and addict… addicted to sushi that is! In my books, Milamodo and their high quality sushi rank up with the best in Halifax. The folks who work here pay special attention to detail, when they prepare rolls and such with careful use of only the finest ingredients, and they focus on creating the perfect presentation, no matter what your meal selection might be. Prices are in keeping with other sushi bars, and if you stop by this little restaurant, you’ll likely find that the quality you receive far exceeds the modest pricing. Fabulosity!

Very expensive and not very fresh when compared to sushi Nami Very dark and gloomy atmosphere. Depressing place:

I love, love, love sushi, and this is my favorite place in town. I probably come into milamodo once every couple of weeks. I would suggest that you try the fire dragon if you like spicy, it’s fabulous. I really like that in addition to the regular stuff(California, spicy tuna/salmon, dragon etc.) they also have some other inventive(and delicious) creations(fire dragon, halifax and milamodo rolls). I normally go in for rolls but have brought so many people in as well, some that weren’t as keen on sushi as me and they all left happy as well.

As you know I am not a huge Sushi fan, I do like the California Rolls., however this restaurant has a very extensive menu. I choose to have the Beef Kimichi Ramian. This is a wonderful soup with noodles, beef strips and a wonderful broth. This is a great spot, they even offer sushi cooking classes. The offer delivery and catering as well. The interior is very tastefully decorated, clean and wonderful atmosphere.

I’m not crazy about sushi. Even while I was in Japan I barely ate any raw fish or any kind. The cool thing is they have plenty of other cooked dishes. I can only review Milamodo Sushi based on the non sushi related items. I always get the edamame beans, anything in a tempura batter and the miso soup. I find it is well priced and the food is great!
