Very good McDonalds. Most of the staff is nice and kind and they pretty much understand everything you say. A star is missing because they have to keep their bakery soft and fresh which isn’t always done.

I come here at least once a week for breakfast at around 7am. Probably the best McDonald’s in its«freshness». The coffee is always hot, the way I like it. I do worry about the rock-hard muffins they sell, but they replace it after asking them. The Danishes are fresh and smell great all the time. I’ve never tried sandwiches, but I’ll update this review after I do. Parking is always available. Free wi-fi. I always take the complimentary newspapers in the morning. Brand new, up-to-date, newspapers. The staff is also very nice. The only problem, however, is the time they take to make your food. In fact, every McDonald’s takes quite some time. You could have to wait for 10 minutes to get your 5 coffees. But it’s worth it, in my opinion. You can’t expect more from Mcdonald’s…or can you?

I often liken this particular McDonald’s to visiting a drug-addled relative. When you were younger it was really fun going to grandma’s house and seeing uncle Joey because he would always play boardgames, cowboys and indians and do other shit with you. Going to grammy’s and chillin with Joey was like the highlight of your god damn weekend because he was an adult who actually wanted to have fun with you and he could relate to your childlike sillyness, for some reason. Yeah, in your eyes Joey was one bad ass 45 year-old uncle. So what if he had like three teeth, still lived in the basement and called you by the wrong name! Joey was a good fucking guy and an even better uncle. He never bought you any gifts or took you fishing or anything but who cares! Joey was your favourite uncle despite these shortcomings. He was definitely a lot nicer than uncle Bruce(the strict, unibrowed uncle who managed an IKEA and told his kids to stay away from you at the family picnics). Joey was miles better than uncle Bruce. But then one day he just disappeared… You would visit grammy’s and it was almost like Joey never existed. No one would speak of him beyond referring to Joey in passing as «the asshole». His shit was being kept in the garage right next to your grandpa’s really old porn magazines. Like 1970s shitty porn. Eww. Something was wrong and uncle Joey was now outta the picture. You went on with your life — had a few lovers, did okay at the racetrack that one weekend, sang in that god awful ABBA tribute thing you did for awhile. And all the while you wondered about ol uncle Joey. What ever became of him? Does he still look like he smells like pee? Then years later you’re reminiscing and things start making sense. You have a gut-wretching realization: Joey was just really high all the time and he robbed a gas station to pay his drug debts and they locked him up for like 15 years. Your memories of all the good times are kinda tainted now, aren’t they? Poor Joey was just wrecked on God knows what all the time. All the fun you guys had was just the result of a lot of pills and booze. You start resenting your uncle Joey. He’s dead to you. Anyway, Mumford Rd. McDonald’s is like my uncle Joey. I had some good coffee there, the odd breakfast sandwich that was, you know, not terrible. Then one day things kinda went to shit. The tipping point was when they served me a raw chicken nugget. You ever bite into a raw chicken nugget? That’s not a rhetorical question. Again, have you ever taken a bite of a fucking partially cooked chicken nugget? Words can’t do the experience justice. Picture your worst moment maybe it’s the time you dropped your kids off at the wrong school or when you stubbed your toe on the dog’s face. Whatever. Take it and amplify it to the nth degree. That was my Mumford Road McDonald’s experience. It was bad. And you know what, these things happen. I get that. Mistakes happen. McNuggets fall through the deep fryer cracks. The orders are coming at you at a furious rate. We’re all human. You’re emotionally distaught because you’re girlfriend didn’t want a ‘hot dog in the bun’. I get it, dude. So, I manned up and went back. Why you ask? Stupidity and obesity, partially. Proximity being another painful part of it. Did I get the nuggets? Of course not. That’s like asking«Did Joey love copious amounts of illicit substances?». But once again my second chance giving came back to haunt me(see my review of Jeans Chinese Food). I’m afraid a recent experience at Mumford McDonald’s has now ruined all McDonald’s for me. For good this time. I mean it. I went in for one of those McCafe Mocha drinks. As soon as I tasted it I could tell the simple syrup hadn’t been changed in a long time because it was starting to ferment. It was like alcohol gone bad. Awful. Not nearly as bad as the nugget but fuck man, that’s like comparing getting kickrd in the nuts by a horse to being kicked in the nuts by some other amimal with strong legs — it’s a bad experience no matter how you slice it. So between the fermented drink and the raw nugget, there’s no way I can go back. To any McDonald’s. Ever.

I went to this location on a whim and can’t say I will be going back. I went around 11am on Thursday August 7th, 2014. There was a small line but nothing I was impatient about. I was promptly greeted by the cashier who seemed less than enthusiastic to serve me. I ordered x2 Junior Chickens and the smallest size of Strawberry-Banana smoothie. The cashier seemed rushed to return to the conversation with her friends. She asked how I was paying and I said«debit» with an unsure voice. The cashier took off and joined the CIRCLE of friends talking– yes circle. it seemed as though over half the workers in there were just showing up to work to socialize. It literally took her 1 second to dash away, and 2 seconds for me to decide I was actually going to pay cash. I said«excuse me» fairly loudly, and was not responded to, she merely glanced at me and continued speaking to her friends. Another employee helping a different customer responded to me which got the attention of my server, who came back to the register. When I said I now wanted to pay debit she gave me the most rude face and forcefully selected the debit option on her computer, then RANBACKTOHERFRIENDS right after I put the cash in her hand. Mildly awful experience but I was very turned off by her and the other employees who clearly don’t need a job. McDonald’s isn’t a hard job. and some people would be more than happy to take it seriously. These kids don’t deserve the job.

I just came by this location for iced coffee through the drive-through. The attendant understood my order quite well through the speaker phone, which is a nice departure from the norm. The lane was quiet even on a busy Saturday afternoon, suggesting that they’re efficient at handling a large number of customers. The payment and delivery of my iced coffee all happened within 5 minutes and I was impressed with the whole experience. Would definitely recommend

I wish there was a negative rating as well. First of all I want to say that myself and anywhere from 2 – 12 of my friends frequent this location 2– 3 days a week, as there is a hobby shop that we are at 2 – 3 days a week. EVERY single visit is an adventure! What I mean is that you never know if the service is going to be satisfactory or appalling. I decided to contact head office as I was so frustrated at the horrendous service. I contacted customer service at a NON toll free # that is listed on the mcdonalds website. I spoke to a very pleasant person to approx 15 mins. She was actually shocked by some of the customer service experiences I shared with her. she ended the conversation stating that the owner/operator would be in touch within 3 business days… on day 4 I called back. I was told that she would reach out directly to this owner;s office to see why I hadnt heard back. Well…I have to say that now I understand why this location is the ABSOLUTEWORST I have ever been to. The owner doesnt even care ! let me give you the list of issues: * My friend orders a mocha, and LITERALLY9⁄10 times, she gets a coffee… no mocha, no apology, just a sigh and rolling of the eyes when she asks for the correct order. * Orders are VERY slow… even when the restaurant is NOT busy. * employees do not LISTEN when you are ordering, they barely look at you, they have NO personality !(to be fair, there are actually TWO employees that we all pray, will be there and take our orders) * Employees are not being trained on customer service… They do not smile, welcome you, or apologize when the orders are either slow or incorrect. * the supervisors and management are no better in their customer service skills.(No smiles, or apologies) * the restaurant is very messy and dirty, the last time one of my friends and I tried to find a clean table, we had to wipe it down ourselves… again the restaurant was NOT busy. Every table that was empty was full of trays, empty food cartons, and the seat were covered in crumbs and grease. * The most recent visit was with 2 friends for coffee… I ordered a medium coffee and a medium mocha…15 mins later a young employee, who actually too my order, walked up to the counter with 2SMALL coffee cups in her hands… she had no idea what receipt went with which order, she stood there for a minute with the cups in her hands, and had no idea what to call out… finally she said«2 small coffees??» No one had ordered that… she went back to the coffee station, made 2MORE drinks, and proceeded to do the same thing, she finally just stared out to us, and the other person waiting for orders… her look was of sheer confusion… She went back to the coffee station a THIRD time… Finally I recognized one of the 2 staff that is good at his job, asked why I was not getting my order… I showed him the receipt on the counter, and said that we ordered 15 mins ago and the girl had gotten it wrong twice already… Finally a supervisor came over, and made the coffee/mocha…no «i am sorry«just slammed them on the counter and walked off. * This location has become a comedy of errors, and all the people that frequent it regularly now expect the orders to be SLOWANDLIKELYWRONG ! * once when my firnd ordered a mocha, she yet again rec’d a plain coffee, so when trying to explain this to the counter staff, explaining that a mocha has chocolate and whipped cream… as the employee walked away the employee said«WHOPUTSWHIPPEDCREAMON A COFFEE?» luckily one of the 2 good employees was there and walked up t the employee and said«There is a chart to follow to make mochas, and they DO have whipped cream, just read the chart!» * THEONLYREASONWECONTINUETOGOTOTHATLOCATION, is that it is convenient, however we have lately been going to the mall or sobeys, as the food and service is so awful *

I went to McDonalds today and before I left the parking lot, I thought it was incredibly important to take a picture and do a review! I will actually say that I have never gone to McDonalds and received service quite as good as I did today! The girl in the drive thru was so nice and she was so quick getting my food that I asked her name. She said it was Shayla. I am making it a point to go onto their website and send an email to pat her on the back. She made me feel so welcomed it was MCDONALDS!!! WOW! She even thanked me for my business and told me to come again. I almost chocked! Great customer service. I‘ll be back for sure!

This McDonalds is located in the shopping plaza of Halifax Shopping Centre. We go here for convenience sometimes, but we have never been wowed by the food. Not that one can get too excited over McDonalds. It is a hit and miss here. Sometimes the burgers are hot and the fries are cold or the other way round. The service can be questionable. I know most are doing a job and not liking it, but we are all doing that sometimes. If I am paying, give me a hello with a smile.
