It’s no big surprise that I ordered the pad thai. It should be noted, yea in THAT book, that I order this dish everywhere. I ordered the combo; regular pad thai and 2 spring rolls. The regular is quite large and can definitely be shared– think of Lady and the Tramp. Once I get to where I am going I prepare for my favorite treat! So I begin with the Inch Rolls, I mean Spring Rolls. They are quite possibly the smallest roll I have ever seen. Not satisfying at all, and leaves you feeling like you’ve been cheated. The Pad Thai is nice and spicy like I asked for, but there is no other taste– so it is quite bland. When you order you have the option to have some cilantro, green onion, etc which I always go for but it doesn’t do much to make this meal better. I believe that Wok Box is attempting to please customers by being fast and fresh, but in the process they making cheap-ish food– for not a cheap price. If you’re looking for Pad Thai, try other joints in the city!

After driving by wok box daily, I decided to give it a try. I tried the Indian Butter Chicken and it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten!

I learned today that Wok Box delivers, so I hit it up as I was lazy and didn’t want to go outside. Unfortunately, it was a $ 5 charge and took longer than it was supposed to. My grub was good as always though.

I have tried this location as well as the Dartmouth Crossing location and while the service has been great the food just OK. I have never has bad food, it just seems like it is missing something. My only real issue is what you pay for what you get, it kind of tastes like«fast food» Asian food but is not priced to match. I think it would be smart for Wok Box to drop their prices slightly less(say $ 1 or $ 2 a combo) to make them more desirable.

Well, well, well Wok Box! I’ll have to admit my main incentive for going here was to get Chinese food in those wee white boxes that I always see people eating out of on the big screen. They remind me of the Happy Meal boxes at MacDonalds that I could never seem to get as a child. So, with that said, I ordered teriyaki noodles and forked them from the box. The most satisfying thing was the box, the noodles were just alright. I was also expecting the prices to be lower than they were since the whole scream is fast food, but Chinese style. I wouldn’t venture out of my way to go get some Wok Box, but I’d give it another shot if I was in the neighborhood.

For all the hype when it opened, Wok Box is pretty underwhelming. The prices are pretty high(except perhaps for the lunch boxse, they’re actually quite reasonable, and while the food is not bad, it’s certainly not particularly inspiring and leaves you with the sense that you could have done better somewhere else. That is made up for, to a great extent, by their staff — great people, friendly and helpful. I certainly think they’re doing a decent job, but whether it’s franchise rules or something else that constrains them, I don’t know, it’s just never been a place I’ve left thinking«Wow». To their credit they do make the only sweet & sour chicken my wife will eat. Most places just serve those awful chicken«balls» of dough with that disgusting red sauce. Wok Box does that right. But honestly, I’ll get her take out and get something else for a meal given the option.

I’ve been to Wok Box a few times over the past couple of months, but not by choice. Friends of mine seem to really like it. And due to it being so out of the way, either location, the fact that they’re willing to travel so far for it must mean it’s quite something, right? I’ve been to Wok Box three or four times and I’ve never really been satisfied with it. It’s Americanized Chinese food but in fast food format. It seems like a novel idea but I find it to be quite bland. I do enjoy the different varieties of chicken balls but even they aren’t up to par with what I like when I go to pretty much any other Chinese food restaurant. You can get a choice of six different types of these chicken balls served in a «sharable» portion size, where it comes in a box served with plain white rice. I’ve also had a side of noodles that normally I would enjoy but they seem to lack any sort of depth in the taste department, even if they are suitably spicy. I won’t give it just one star though because the service is usually pretty reliable and I enjoy the layout and cleanliness but my thoughts seem to always be, if I have a choice between Wok Box and anywhere else for Chinese Food, I’ll go anywhere else.

Deciding what to have for lunch I took a friend of mine to Wok Box in Clayton park. Very impressed with the cleanness’s of the store and the fast service from the girl upfront asking if we need any help with the menu. Thanks by the way. It was neat to see the guy cooking in all the Wok’s upfront as he almost made it easy. All the spices and sauce was location under the burner and making it almost seem like nothing to whip up something. Well if you know me and my reviews you know I like it hot. Well OMG I had the Jungle Curry dish with rice extra spicy well thank goodness I ate it at work cause I broke out in a sweat. But wow was it good. I love pineapple and it had chunks with a coconut curry base which was delicious as well as some veggies. He got the Kung Pao which was another spicy dish that I could not try as I had to deal with mine but I took his word it was good. Each had an egg roll which I prefer a spring roll but I tired it. Now one thing that I would say is when cleaning the vents make sure that you are not cooking below them.
