First meal in Canada today and we happened to get some waffles with maple syrup! Everything was delicious, I especially liked the whipped goat cheese topping. Service was friendly and it came out fast. Also, some of the best bacon I’ve ever had! Smoky flavor and thick slices. I definitely recommend.

Amazing corner coffee shop. The best vanilla latte I’ve ever had! I also had a waffle with fruit and whipped cream. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is light and inviting but can get quite congested. Would definitely visit again for the food.

I had the Classic Breakfast Sandwich with bacon and it was the most incredible breakfast I’ve ever eaten. The coffee was amazing, the atmosphere was great and the staff were super nice. Unfortunately I don’t live nearby anymore but will definitely be going there again whenever I’m down this way. I would recommend this to everyone!

Great coffee shop! We’ve been here twice when visiting Hamilton or on the way to Niagara and this place is legit for coffee/food. Waffles are very flavorful and not overly dense. Coffee is spot on. It’s my go to coffee shop now when going on weekend trips.

GREAT addition to the city, ended up in Hamilton for 2 days and visited 3 times! The coffee was excellent, service friendly, good waffles! It can get crowded(smaller space), plus ‘warm’(temperature). Maybe try going at ‘off’ peak times. I would visit every time i return to Hamilton; this is the kind of stuff/place that is making Hamilton ‘newer/better’. NICE!

I LOVELOVELOVE this place! It’s just what Hamilton needs-beyond perfect coffee, great staff, cute little location, and the bathroom is a work of art!!! If I had to only drink their coffee for the rest of my life, I’d be happy! The pumpkin white chocolate pecan muffin is ridiculously good, as is the pear blackberry. I liked the bacon waffles too, and I’m not even that keen on waffles/breakfast food. The service is quick and the staff is accommodating and friendly. I went 3 times in two days when visiting Hamilton, and I can’t wait to go back. It’s in a really nice, interesting area of Hamilton too.

Donut monster donuts! Awesome scones and muffins! I enjoy the chemex coffee, haven’t tried the other coffees but they sure look good too! Did I say they have delicious waffles sandwiches/paninis? Lovely art on the walls and a nice big window for watching people go by. It’s a little pricey for my budget but I try to enjoy going here as often as my budget allows me to :-)

The food was excellent but the service was meh, just ok. We ordered the Merican waffle sandwich and Californian brunch — delicious and was worth the 25 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon! My boyfriend also ordered a latte which he thought was ok, and my london fog latte was good but too sweet. We got a goat cheese and dill scone to go. Oh my lord, it was heavenly! Bonus: free parking on Sundays at a nearby parking lot(the Ottawa Street farmer’s market is held there on Saturdays.) Though weekday parking rates are only $ 1 per hour.

Passed by on our way home to Toronto to refresh and refill. Good thing we did, refreshed and refilled we were! We had Cortado, chemex & a couple of hot chocolate to go with lemon currant and apple raspberry muffins. Everything tasted great. Such a relaxing place highlighted with the beautiful collage hanging on the walls. We’ll definitely be back whenever we are in the area

Yum! We came here for brunch on Saturday around 10am, and were lucky enough to grab a 2 person table(someone was just leaving). It was freezing outside, and Cannon Coffee was a nice, warm(albeit a little stuffy) retreat to enter into. I would describe this small café/restaurant as cozy hipster with that«Sunday brunch» atmosphere. I ordered an almond milk latte and the American fresh basil pesto waffle, which comes with avocado, 2 poached eggs, goat cheese, grilled pepper and sweet potato, and balsamic drizzled overtop. The waffle is huge for the price($ 8.95), and so filling, I was only able to finish a little less than half of it! It was truly delicious though, and the pesto/basil is cooked right into the batter! My friend ordered the Californian waffle, which comes with guacamole, 2 poached eggs, bacon strips, and chopped tomato. She really enjoyed her meal as well! I would definitely say you get bang for your buck here. My meal came out to about $ 17 with tax and tip, which is great for coffee and a yummy meal. You also get some great pictures as the waffles look beautiful. I’ll probably be back to try the sweet waffles next time!

Excellent coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. It was a pleasure to find great espresso, wonderfully pleasant staff, and a lovely flakey bacon scone. 100% would come back. The music selection was not too shabby either.

Stopped by Cannon Coffee for a Sunday brunch with a few friends. The atmosphere light, airy and beautifully lit — very relaxing. Each of us ordered a waffle sandwich of some variation of and we were not disappointed. I would highly recommend the ‘Merican Brunch; the pesto waffle added an amazing base to the meal and puts a spin on otherwise bland waffles. The coffee was great and the service was quick and friendly. We also enjoyed that although the place was busy, it did not feel over-crowded and there was space for everyone to sit. The only reason I’m giving four stars is because one order was prepared wrong, i.e., non-vegan — the staff was quick to fix and very apologetic but one of our party sat waiting an additional ca. 20 minutes while the rest of us ate(and finished our meals). A must-do for Sunday brunch.

Great java. Great food. Wish they had a Java punch card. But no complaints. Absolutely one of the best scrumptious gluten free sandwiches you will ever have the good fortune of dining on! Disabled friendly as far as a blind guy and his service dog go. Highly recommended

Lot the décor of this place, especially the light fixture over the communion table, very artistic! Very good coffee and nice small selection of brunch food, reasonably priced. Love the idea of waffle sandwich(I think waffle is the trend nowadays)! The only one reason I rated Cannon 3 stars is their open kitchen, or more importantly poor ventilation. Instead of smell like coffee, this place smell like bacon :(not in a good way, felt the greasiness following me the whole day as the smell of bacon stayed on my clothes. Don’t think I will go back for a sit down brunch, maybe for a coffee to go.

If you’re a fan of sweet and savoury, this is the place to go. I had the Canadian brunch and I LOVED it. I’ve never had apple waffles before and I was very pleasantly surprised with how great they were. The combination of flavours with each bite just made me crave more. The eggs were the perfect amount of runny and the bacon was both chewy and crunchy. The prices for all items were fair. I left very satisfied and I can’t wait to go back.

Wow, love this place everytime. Everything here is delicious and fresh. My top 5 includes the ‘Merican fresh basil waffle, with poached free range eggs, grilled sweet potato and peppers over warm goat cheese all drizzled with balsamic, and sliced avacado on the side. Ask for the locally made no preservatives Dawson Sweet Pear Chili hot sauces for dipping. Partner with an Almond milk Cortado for a brunch experience you won’t soon forget. For a quick fix try the top notch strawberry and mango vegan muffin with a pour-over chemex coffee.
