Wimpy’s Diner

I had lunch today at Wimpy’s Diner. It’s the first time I’ve eaten at this chain.
It’s fun and colourful inside.
I ordered Wimpy’s Famous Burger and a Diet Coke. The burger was okay and had a processed patty. The bun was soft … the bottom part could have been a bit thicker as it didn’t really support such a larger patty.

It’s new years day, most places are closed, and I was super hungry. Found wimpy’s and man am I glad I did. Delicious pancakes, great eggs and excellent coffee. Add to that, an ever smiling staff. Really liked this place.

Absolutely awful customer service. Waited an hour and a half for delivery and was given the wrong order when it finally showed up. Staff were rude when we called about the mistake and instead of offering to send the driver back they said they would remake the order and send it out again. I’m not willing to wait 3 hours for a hamburger. Between the long wait, lack of communication and personal skills on behalf of the staff I won’t be returning here again

Our orders were taken and filled in their usual quick manner.
The entire menu is available at any time. This is really great for those on other shifts. Our party was half on day schedule and the other half on midnight cycle. So that lead to some having a typical breakfast and the others having more of another type of meal.
The meals are not spectacular but are hearty. With such a lather variety of meal types do not expect all to start as fresh as some head to be frozen to allow the breath of variety.
The décor is similar in all of the restaurants I’ve been in of this chain.
The entry has had a minor change from the past as one is now compelled to enter the interior from the eastern must door and not from both. This can be an advantage to getting service quicker as you didn’t somehow sneak onto a table without a server catching that.
This location has their main washrooms in the lower level but if that is an issue there is another on the main level nearer to the parking area.
It’s a bit awkward to walk in the driveway from the parking lot if there are vehicles either parked along the drive or traveling along the drive. The door directly from the parking area is no longer available to use.

its not great, but it doesnt suck. its a good place to go if youre hungry at 5 am.

Wimpy’s is on my way home from work and if I want a meal that is like home cooked, I call and order it as I’m leaving work and pick it up on the way home — dinner’s ready as I walk in the door! Love it! When eating in, the décor is very 50’s dinerish. It could use an upgrade but I rarely have a complaint about the service or the food.

I’ve only came here after 3AM when everything else is basically closed. My prior experiences were okay but my last one was atrocious.
Avoid the Chicken Souvlaki at all costs. It honestly looked like I ordered rice with a very small side of chicken. ⁴⁄₅ of the plate was covered in minute rice while .05÷5 had some chicken sprinkled on.

But on the bright side, the waitress was decent. She was attentive (as she could be with half the place filled) and moved the drunker people to the other side of the restaurant.

I wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Staff was attentive and pleasant. If you put a quarter in the table top juke box it let’s you select two songs which it plays throughout the entire restaurant. Food came fairly quickly, potions were large and everything was tasty. Good diner food. $ 30 for 3 of us for lunch.

Pretty bad breakfast joint — food usually comes out cold, service is inconsiderate and not very helpful.

I have visited this place in the past and found it ok, not as good as the Queenston Road location but acceptable.
Building is really run down and needs and upgrade.
Last visit was not good at all. This was in the morning, normally I would visit this location late night.
Had to wait ten minutes before our beverage order was taken.
I ordered a coffee. It came, but had to wait and actually ask for cream and sugar.
Waitress had an attitude.
Both waitresses were so focused on this one table (assuming a regular) and ignored many other tables.
Ordered eggs over easy. Got eggs barely cooked, still slimy eggs whites. Returned the order. When it came back, eggs were nearly over hard. Guess the cook was being a smartass.
Had to wait nearly 15 minutes after requesting the bill.
NO TIP.
Will not be visiting this location again during the day. Staff are terrible. Night time crew is ok.

Worst breakfast ever! Place is a dump and so dirty. My breakfast came and my eggs were green around the edges, my hash browns were mush and bacon burnt. waitress never came back to check up on my uneaten breakfast. They don’t even have fruit on the menu. Total waste of $. Save your money, even a fast food joint. which I never go to sells better than this slop. I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog.

Not the cleanest doesn’t look the best.
But the workers are amazingly friendly and work very hard each day. It’s open ²⁴⁄₇ and they serve very good food for a cheap price

Four stars… And an explaination.
The place is a bit of a hole in the wall. It doesn’t scream cleanliness. A bit tired and run down on the inside… BUT as a bartender who sometimes puts in a 9 hour shift without a chance for a lunch break… if you’re starving at 3am it is AMAZING. Real food. Cheap. Fast. Open 24 hours 7 days a week! My personal favourite is the philly cheese sandwich (chicken) and… a cup of green tea.
