We are from Ontario and were looking for somewhere for our kids to get their feet wet on the ocean. We found this beach and it was perfect. Better than expected as we were able to swim and play in the surf.

Nice beach although the parking was insane! My advice is to fork over the 4 bucks to park on buddy’s lawn and start your day off sooner than later. Driving around looking for a free spot isn’t worth the aggravation and it increases your chances of running over noodles and toes that are crossing all over the road.

I was never a fan of this beach for many reasons. I do not like drive up beaches with parking lots so close. Beathing in fresh ocean air NOT! that smell is car fumes. This beach has cops driving around the parking lot? Weird OK I came to the beach to cause trouble today but I guess it does keep people from riping each other off like breaking into cars etc… This beach seems to be a fan of south shore folk and teenages who like to bump music from their cars which I would be OK with if they played somthing I enjoyed listening to. My last trip reminding me of all the reasons I do not like this beach we were nearby that day so thought why not? I now can answer that question.

I just spent one of my best beach days here today! Here’s what I loved: 1. We could see our vehicle from our spot on the beach. This means there was minimal walking and we were traveling with 2 little beach bums in training, so this is a definite plus when you have all the bags, bundles and other items that come along for the ride. 2. The water was some of the warmest I have swam in in a long time. According to the lifeguard it was 21 degrees. Very minimal seaweed and no rocks. 3. The sand was lovely and not piping hot on your feet. 4. Overall experience was great. Here’s just a few downsides: 1. You better come early, because parking can be challenging later in the day. When we left at 2:30 we were swarmed by people asking«are you leaving» and breathing down our neck for our coveted spot. I recommend an 11:00 or earlier arrival. 2. The beach is a bit small for the amount of people that come on a busy day like today. Meaning that you are just a cigarette’s flick away from the people beside you. When I go the beach I like a little distance, my own little oasis, have you. I didn’t find that here. 3. Facilities consist only of outhouse type bathrooms… a little info about me: total princess, outhouses are not my thing and are only to be used in a major emergency, i.e. the world is coming to an end. Despite these few negative points, I had a fantastic time today at Queensland and can’t wait to get back for a another dip before summer’s out. Come on in, the water’s fine!

The worst part about this beach is that you are just steps from the parking lot. Now maybe that’s good for people with limited mobility but for me it’s ugly.

I went to Queensland beach for the first time that I can remember on Natal day. What I loved about the beach is that the parking is across the street, so we were on the beach in 1 min, unlike my visit a few weeks ago to Conrad’s beach where we had a 2k walk, The beach is on the small side, and with the amount of people out and the rising tide made for tight quarters. I didn’t mind too much, except when the young boys next to us started running to and from the water, getting me wet in the process. My favourite part of the beach was the waves. I’m like a 5 year old when it comes it the beach, I much rather be in the water than lying in the sand like a beached whale. The waves were amazing, and made for some great body surfing and frolicking. What;d also good for strong swimmers is that the water gets deep fairly fast so you don’t have to go out a long way to get some good waves. To be honest I didn’t find the water freezing, after being in for a minute I found it really comfortable. Queensland beach is just far enough that you can call your journey a day trip, but your back in the city in under an hour.

I’m not much of a beach guy so hitting the biggest and longest and staying for hours and hours doesn’t really appeal to me. That’s why Queensland really seems to speak my language. It’s gorgeous, the parking is right across the street so when you’re ready to go you can just go, and all the awesomeness of a great beach is compacted into just enough to give you what you need. The sand is clean and smooth with minimal sharp bits or live sea creatures mucking about at your feet(aside from mammoth seagulls), lifeguards are on site much of the time, and you’re just a few minutes from great restaurants in Hubbards. Win all round!

Queensland isn’t a spot I can get to often, but if I have the chance I will jump at it. It can fill up quite quickly on a hot day, however, this long and breezy beach is a sight worth a little squish. I’ve noticed that the crowd tends to stay pretty youthful, and its an easy spot to read, chill, or go with friends for some ruffin’. Cold waters and tossed around waves aren’t for everybody, but we Maritimers are pretty accustomed to iceburg swimming. If you have the chance, Queensland is great and a sure spot to enjoy the day. Just another slice of loveliness that our coast has to offer; I really cannot complain.

Queensland Beach is the hot spot in the summer. Get there early so you are not sitting on the rocks. It fills up early here. It is normally filled with the young teens to early 30’s. They do have life guards here in one area, the other you can play beach football etc. Some people do take their dogs, although I’m not sure why, there is really no where for the dogs to roam around. The water here is a constant freezing, that is a guarantee. But as I have said before, it is part of the Nova Scotia culture. You will be able to grab a snack from down the road, also no worries, they do have outdoor facilities for changing and washroom. Always a fun time at Queensland. Oh yes, there is always one nice looking body builder and usually one man wearing a speedo. That is pretty much a given for summer beach anywhere.

There is nothing better then spending a day at the beach especially when it is Queensland. 300m of beach which is alot to us NS folk. Depending on the time of day that you go the waves can be rocking and tide coming in. Water is freezing and really does not warm up anytime soon. Yes we do have a summer season but for some reason the water can just not warm up. Today relaxing at Queensland was great just sunning and reading and enjoying the heat. Every once in awhile I would jump in the water or I mean ocean of ice cubes. Queensland does have bathroom stalls as well up the road about 5 minutes you can get some homemade french fries, claims, fish or some other tasty treats. If you are looking for a going on a nice drive then take a tour to the south sore and hit exit 6 and you will be on your way to Queensland.
