Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Food was decent — fries were a little too salty, but the portion sizes were quite large. Service was surprisingly good, considering it is an order at the counter style restaurant. While I didn’t feel it was good enough to consider going regularly, it would certainly satisfy a BBQ craving in a pinch.

One of my favourite places in Kelowna for sure. Besides serving up heathy quantities of awesome and delicious food, the prices are very reasonable and the food comes out quickly. Great food, good pricing, quick service. Don’t forget to order yourself at the till.

I tend to seek out barbecue joints in places I visit. During my travels I have found a few outstanding spots, a few horrible spots and a whole lot of good, but not great places. This place would fall into this category. I had the ribs and the pulled pork, each were good but not great. If you are looking for a good place to eat nothing wrong with this place. Food is good, beer is good(they also have a full bar) and staff is friendly.

Last night my friend and I arrived from Big White a few minutes after 9, having starved ourselves all day the smokey BBQ smells where making the saliva juices flow. How sad were we when the waitress told us that they closed at 9 and the kitchen was now all shut down. We were disappointed but understood it was bad timing on our part. Then too our surprise and delight the manager bought us a drink on the house! A first! We are so looking forward to going back and tucking into their BBQ offerings! See you there

The initial smoky smell upon entering the restaurant was heavenly! Pulled pork nachos were devoured by our kids, bbq pulled pork poutine very tasty! Friendly, FAST service. Great music! They also make a fabulous caesar, great rimmer! Stopped by chance, glad we did!

Traveling through Kelowna on business and decided to stop in and get a Pulled Pork sandwich. I was definitely NOT disappointed! The food was great, the serving sizes excellent, the service fast and friendly and the prices reasonable! I thoroughly enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere. The next time I pass through Kelowna I will be stopping in!

Ribs done perfect. Atmosphere was great with blues playing live in the background. Plenty of bourbon choices. Yes that’s right is it’s done perfectly! Southern style.

The six of us were incredibly hungry and slightly chilly as we walked the streets looking for a place to eat. We had originally drove to Kelowna from Vernon to eat at Krafty Kitchen and Bar but were disappointed to find that they were only serving from their brunch menu on a Sunday afternoon. We weren’t feeling brunch-y but we were definitely hungry. The moment we entered MBBH we knew we were staying, the down home blues memorabilia and tunes lured us in to stay… We ordered the Elvis platter which basically contained every meat they had plus some really amazing sides. Side ribs, rib ends, pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and smoked sausage were arranged on the platter along with some really great fries and sides. My personal favourite were the baked beans but the others in the group really liked the coleslaw. No one was really crazy for the potato salad. This restaurant is a chain though to me it didn’t really feel like it. The food was flavourful and plentiful and the list of available bourbons literally took up a huge section of one wall. I would like to try an authentic BBQ house in the south but for now I’m pretty happy with the platter we had at Memphis Blues Barbeque House. I hear they are expanding into Alberta soon…

After eating BBQ at Rudy’s in Texas, thought I would try something in Canada on our recent vacation. Wasn’t really sure to get here as the menus are more meal focused, rather than the a la carte I’m used to seeing. We decided to get the Elvis Platter, recommended by the waitress since there was 7 of us. Comes with potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, BBQ sauce, corn bread, fries(overdone and super salty), sausage, beef brisket(too dry/lean), pulled pork(moist and tender), back ribs(flavourful), ribbletts, and ¼ chicken(dry white meat, pretty good dark meat). Definitely a lot of food and more than enough for 7 or 8 people. In terms of taste, the pulled pork was the best, but a lot of the rest was either too dry or too salty like I mentioned above. Tough to beat real Texas BBQ though, so not bad. I’d probably go back if I had a real hankering for BBQ, but I’d save my appetite for that at Rudy’s in Houston.

Ordered the platter to share and try everything. Was all tasty. Really enjoyed the ambience but the food maybe didn’t quite live up to the expectation the ambience provided. It was more like a 3.5

Love it! The ribs fall off the bone and they’re meaty. You get what you pay for here and if you want great ribs this is the place. I’ve eaten here many times and their catfish sandwhich is also a favourite of mine. They have good specials daily and you can eat for under $ 15 but the ribs will cost you a bit more.

Only one sauce choice and we did not like it. Same dry rub on all meats. Has potential for more stars, just needs a few more options.

I love Memphis Blues. I almost always get their pulled pork sandwich. I ordered it this time as well, but the cook made a mistake and made a special instead. It was the pulled pork and sausage sandwich. I didn’t mind, because as long as it has pulled pork, I’m happy! The server came by to check on our water levels and was very kind. Food was hot and flavourful, and the music was good. Not very busy for a Wednesday lunch service, but many people were seated outside.

The ribs were very good & tender. … the pulled pork sandwhich on the other hand had no seasoning on the dry and boring pork… and the sides… they were litteraly less than ½ a cup. Plus they forgot our cornbread. For the way way over priced choices, I didn’t like it and wont eat here again. i can make better BBQ at home

I can’t say I had a good meal that night. No sirree. I enjoyed the idea and atmosphere of the whole bluesy theme. But, the food just didn’t cut it! I talked to a local, and she admitted that it was a hit or miss for her as well. So, what can I tell you? Try your luck? We were there on a Tuesday, the special was All-U-Can-Eat ribs. I only got the ½ ribs(thank goodness), because I was already struggling to finish the very dry and bland meal I got in front of me. Bottomless lemonade got me through the meal, really.

I can’t help myself. There are 2 things I can’t resist. #1. The Blues and # 2. Bar B Q’d anything. I loved the pulled pork, the coleslaw was alright, the beans were good and I ate some southern biscuit or something. Hearty, good ol’ fashion Southern fare in the Okanagan. I have to mention that the music you’ll hear is all Blues. I love it but I can imagine there are teenagers who wish they’d play some other type of music. Too bad! The Blues rule! The atmosphere is a bit casual so don’t expect to dress up before dining here.
