I agree with many of the reviews about this hotel. I definitely felt a high level of care for clients. But I have to say that the good vibe was largely negated by the parking fee. At just over $ 20.00($ 18.000 + HST), I simply felt gouged. My opinion is that you can’t justify that amount, this is not downtown Toronto. It’s was a money grab. Very disappointed. Also, and a small point, the TV signal at the hotel is not HD. The reason I was at the hotel was to watch the Super Bowl with some buddies. Not having HD was a bummer and not in keeping with the standard of this hotel.

The best in Kingston. I stay here in the winter only because the rates go waaaaaaaayyyyyy up in the summer. Too expensive. I prefer to be downtown when in Kingston, and this is my first choice.

I had to create an account just to review this place because I feel like the experience I had here was exceptional. I’ve been to many hotels most of them four to five stars and this place is my favorite. The service from the beginning was impeccable from the cleaning staff to the front desk. The staff was very responsive to any concerns we had. The 2 bedroom suite was the most spacious I’ve had; each room had a flat screen TV, their own bathroom and shower, closet, and king sized bed. The kitchen had all kitchen items you could think of stocked, there was a beautiful standing shower, and useful lighting and finally, the right amount of plugs! The bathroom also provided Paul Mitchell body wash, body soap, facial soap, shampoo and conditioner which I actually used this time! When we wanted to watch a movie(it was mid November, cold and snowing) as a family the front desk was able to provide a DVD machine, a selection of movies and a HDMI cord. We also forgot to bring toothpaste which they give complimentary. One day our room was not cleaned and the housekeeping staff was so apologetic and brought us new towels and offered to clean our room at night. They also had a hot continental breakfast each morning with everything you need go start the day: cereal, yogurt parfait, breakfast sandwiches, eggs, turkey sausage, pancakes, waffles, juice, coffee, tea etc. I really enjoyed my experience in Kingston and the hotel was a big part of that. If I would have to say anything critical it would probably be to use softer towels other that it was wonderful. I felt that finally there was a hotel that put some thought into the guests experience for once.

We always stay here because of our family needs. We book the 2 bedroom suite. The beds are comfy, the rooms are clean, the service is good. They would have earned the fifth star if the WiFi worked properly — hasn’t the last 3 times we’ve stayed. Paying for parking? Seriously? Despite these shortcomings we will most likely stay here again in the future.

We usually book at Marriott hotels when we travel, this hotel is not as clean as to be expected. Our room, on the 5th floor had the spare bed sheets on the bed that didn’t look like it had been changed. We have yet to visit the salt water pool in the basement, here’s hoping it’s ok. Currently in the grill/restaurant and the menu is quite limited.

I like the Marriott Residence Inn in Kingston for a few reasons: 1. It is modern and up to date. 2. It has great views of Lake Ontario. 3. The rooms are large, and suites are available. 4. Breakfast buffet is included in the price. I find myself being disappointed when I come to Kingston and cannot get a room at the Residence Inn.
