They don’t have wifi, which is something I think people should know given it is a café. They use the city wifi, since they’re beside city hall, but the connection is usually weak and often has troubles even loading PDF files. Other than that the café is pretty good. Service is friendly and the food items are generally good. They usually have a selection of sandwiches, wraps and salads. They always have a few roasts on the go, and their selection of teas is extensive. Summer is the best time to go, as their patio has a view of the water, city hall and the market square. Again though, no wifi is a killer and the reason I do not frequent this café.

A great idea for a dessert café! However the last time I went here the staff was very unprofessional. They provided me with cutlery that was clearly unwashed and still had jam on it from a previous customer. In addition, the staff behind the counter were snacking on food /drinks etc with their hands, which adds more questions regarding the hygiene of the establishment. I wish I could go back and visit again, because I love sweets, but the impression I got was one of general lack of order, so I can’t bear to return.

I have never been to a better café. This is the perfect place for a first date. Very clean and quiet. The Baristas were courteous and very helpful to my date. They asked here a few questions about her pallet and recommended an off-the-beaten path Coconut Tea andnibnoticed them doing the same with other customers. The atmosphere was classy and the external brick work provided a European feel to the patio. Will definitely be returning for another visit.

Sipps used to be a place I would regularly go to study or share a coffee with friends until today. I ordered a tea latte suggested by the manager, however when I tasted the drink it was terrible(I’m a tea lover and I rarely dislike tea drinks). I went to politely bring back the latte and ask for a simple tea in replacement(which is cheaper than the latte), and was shocked when the manager rudely refused to replace my drink or give me a refund. Normally, any manager would work to keep regular customers happy, but not this one! I am truly disappointed in the customer service of this business and will not be coming back for another dismal tea latte.

Very nice patio to have your coffee and it’s right across from the farmers market the staff was friendly and the service was excellent. Tim Hortons could learn something from this place. Thanks we will be back

Excellent coffee, tea and chocolate selection. The desserts look quite good as well. i ordered tea, and needed to remind the busy staff when it was not brought to the table. Great location, great space.

The boyfriend & I visit Kingston several times a year, and Sipps is always the first place we go to(& we’ll probably go back 3 times a day to get our tea and coffee fix)! The staff can be hit and miss. Sometimes they’re amazing, even making me my favourite drink(the chocolate elephant) when it wasn’t in season. Other times it’s like they wish you weren’t there & come across as a little rude. Neither of us have ever been disappointed by their drinks. I love trying out their wide variety of lattes, and my boyfriend really likes their teas. We’ve never gotten food(although it looks good), so I can’t comment on that. I love this place & will continue to visit whenever I’m in Kingston.

Great service, great selection of sweets, gluten free ones too! Awesome décor, love the rough hewn door headers and tin period ceiling.

Good coffee and desserts, friendly little place. Students seem to camp here for free wifi I was a little amazed to once see people bringing in Chinese takeaway from somewhere else as the guzzled coffee and pored over their Macbooks.

Surely there are better coffee shops than Sipps for a number of reasons, but Sipps keeps me coming back for their delicious frozen lemonade! Sipps has a great location, a nice interior, a great range of sandwiches, baked goods, teas and other beverages, but the one thing that deters me from coming in sometime is the disorganization of the staff. They are all so friendly and nice, but sometimes seem a bit overwhelmed. I do love Sipps in the Winter for a post-skating cup of tea, so I have a reason to keep Sipps in the coffee shop rotation year round. It’s a good spot, just not my favorite spot. PS — One other attraction of Sipps definitely is their supply of Slickers Ice Cream; if you don’t know Slickers, stop in. It’s the best ice cream around(from Bloomfield) and I don’t know if any other place in Kingston offers it!

Honestly, I can’t really comment on their coffees and espresso drinks. I ordered a coffee once and I thought it was good, but I don’t exactly have refined coffee tastes. I come here for the cheesecakes and the teas, both of which are excellent. This is an especially good place to come in the summertime, when the antique market is open across the street and you can sit out front and people-watch with an amazing iced tea in your hand. I’m always bummed that they don’t serve iced tea in the winter, but their hot tea is excellent as well. And those cheesecakes! Oh, those cheesecakes. I have never gotten a slice that tasted stale. Try a slice of the Bailey’s cheesecake and die of joy. A major downside to this place is the lack of free wi-fi. If you’re looking for a place to sit and drink and do some work, this might not be it.

I have been to Sipps a number of times and each time I can say that the service has been terrible. I will never be going there again despite the fact that it is conveniently located right across from market square. The employees make you feel unwelcome with their grouchy faces and there is no warmth to the place as is quintessential of most coffee shops. There is no reason to come to this place when there are far better options in town like Mug & Truffle, the Sleepless Goat and Coffee & Company.

Sipps is an A-OK spot for catching up with friends and overlooks this square where they have an outdoor market in the summer. — There’s a very long menu, including a zillion different types of lattes and tea lattes(everything from vanilla, coconut, chocolate chai, etc.). I went for a classic London fog, which was nice except the were bits of tea leaves that somehow came out of the tea bag and were floating around in my mug. — Good selection of sweets, although I didn’t try any. — Smile-y service.
