They have a nice selection of cutlery and accessories. Mostly mainstream quality brands, typical mall knife shop offerings, same as in the States. Nothing really on the high end side if you’re shopping for a knife aficionado. My first time visit was to have knives sharpened, some kitchen and some sporting knives. I had called a couple days ahead and the girl who answered was very nice and said come on in. So made a special trip a few days later. To my disappointment, I learned that the knife sharpening person wasn’t available, and that she only came into the store one day per week. No one mentioned this to me before hand, and there’s no information on their website. What a wasted trip. Worse, the guy who worked there clearly has little knowledge of knives, struggled to answer common questions, and is in severe need of customer service training. I cannot recommend the House of Knives based on this experience, unless you are knowledgeable about knives and know what you are looking for.

A very nice 3.5 stars, as one, it’s bigger than the Richmond one, plus seem to carry some more fun, juicier stuff. For example, though it’s only Wenger bags, it’s their casual line, located in the corner. Interesting, saw this silicone food ties, made by Kussi, looks like another Swedish company, that are safe to bake in the oven, for your turkey. Worker said freezer and microwave ok too. Display of Victoriniox pocket blades on the right as well. And some nice collapsible microwavable take out containers, saves room in your cabinet. Of course, they’re known for their knives, which they in the back of the counter.

We’ve dealt with this place a few times now and they’ve always taken the time to answer our questions and spend time making sure we walked out with exactly what we needed. They have a wide rage of knives depending upon your needs and a few other things for the kitchen. Go for the knives stay for the staff!
