NCIX Langley

Recently ordered almost $ 10,000 worth of stuff to build a couple computers. Understandably they didn’t have everything I wanted in stock at the time, small store after all, so I paid a deposit to have them ordered in a week and a half later.
A week and a half later I get a call saying almost everything was in, except one motherboard. I ordered two of everything and they forgot one motherboard and now I’m expected to pay the full price to get MOST of what I ordered. The motherboard will be ANOTHER week and a half, but of course they’re not going to offer a consolation deal. I am beyond annoyed with this.
Will definitely be looking elsewhere for monitors and everything that wasn’t ordered. This is the second location that I have been disappointed with.
When I went to pick it all up except the piece they forgot I overheard one saying that the warehouse was 10 minutes away and they could go get my piece. But they didn’t! Got a call an hour later saying they got it in but I couldn’t pick it up for another day, I live 30 minutes away in good traffic (rare).

This was my first visit to this store. They seem to carry a lot of computer equipment and the store is laid out in a very organized way considering the store itself doesn’t seem as big as some of the stores back east like Tiger Direct or Canada Computers.
I only needed one item which was a display port cable to DVI so I could attach a second screen to a system and the cable was 19 bucks after tax.
The person who helped me knew what I needed and was able to find it right away. If I lived in BC this is the kind of place I’d get most of my computer stuff from.

I have been a regular customer of NCIX since they were one retail shop on Kingsway at Royal Oak. In all of those years the best approach for me has been to do my homework on the net, then go to the NCIX website knowing exactly what I need. Only then do I go to the store.
It is true that the service is a bit bursk. But at these margins it is easy to lose money waiting for an Ill prepared customer to figure out what he wants. If you want the full service experience, go to Best Buy and talk to a Geek Squad dude.

The guy I am dating and this store helped me get a custom computer made after my computer crapped out on itself. The parts work great, I am writing my review on my new fast and pimped out computer and best of all it was within budget which I am really happy about. This place was recommended by the guy I am dating since he’s used these guys before.

I bought a Benq 2420HD monitor and it was fuzzy and washed out from the get go. By the time I had tried calibration and different cables, I could no longer return it. I now have to deal with Benq directly and it’s a long drawn out process that, in the end, will leave me without a monitor for several weeks. A big shame on NCIX for not going to bat for the consumer and leaving me to my own devices. I will not be purchasing anything from them again in the future.

I keep an eye on their sales and often buy great gear at great prices.
This is not, however, a store for someone who is looking for a lot of hand-​holding and support.
Their support could handle some improvement however. It is not often that you get something in error but when you do, a speedy resolution is not often available.

I’ve dealt with NCIX a few times for computer parts and to be honest this is the type of place you go if you already know what you want and it’s on sale. When you enter the door your prompted to take a number and mill around until your number comes up for service. There are a few odds and sods to look at but for the most part you’ll end up staring at your phone watching the time pass. The service is helpful but generally a bit rushed as there is usually a line up of people staring at their phones, number in hand. Overall it’s a «meh but that was a pretty decent price,» experience.
