Super Buffet

I was very excited to see a buffet place open up score to home. A place where everyone can go and you can all find something you like. NOT! we were there for dinner right as they opened. Food was fresh… but ohhhhhh so tasteless. Some items appeared to have been cooked earlier and just reheated. Very small selection. They did have fries… they were OK. The Chinese food was not at par with any local restaurant. Very saucy. Most items were cold within the first 30 min. The desert bar had bagged cookies… like no name oreos. Cake from a bulk bakery. stale…fruit cut up that was dry. Oh. honestly plus don’t waste your money. It was so terrible.

Man o man, where do I start? We walked in @ about 5:30 pm and the place was EMPTY besides a table of 4 dirty looking people and some strange contraption that one would sit in and ride down the sidewalks with a cardboard sign stuck to the back advertising this place. Why didn’t we bolt then? My bf was hungry and we had to get back home quickly so we sucked it up… BIG MISTAKE.
I went over to the buffet and couldn’t believe what horrible selection there was. No chicken balls, no ginger beef. The broccoli dish was brown and rotten, the rest of the vegetables were not fresh either. They had a weird brownish-​grey dish that was supposedly turkey that was accompanied by a dark grey coarse and grainy «gravy» then there was sweet n sour pork which could barely be chewed it was so tough. I bit into an overly salted piece of battered shrimp and to my horror — the shell was still on it and they had not bothered to devein the shrimp. It tasted like dirt and I literally spit it out onto my plate it was so bad. The entire time I felt like I was questioning everything on my plate and in the end refused to continue on once I ate the shrimp shit. Delicious.
And to think they charge $ 15.99 for this inedible crap. From the dark and dim banquet hall ambiance of this place, Titanic soundtrack and garbage dump food — this is the WORST dining experience of my life. I’M JUST GLAD I DIDN’T GET FOOD POISONING! They should be ashamed of themselves for serving this to people. Not even worth the 1 star.

This used to be the worst Thai place in the world, so when I spotted that it changed owners and became a Chinese buffet, I had to at least try it.
I respect anybody that is willing to take a chance and put their money where their mouth is. So I will always try and support a new business, especially in my home town.
The young lady that greeted us at the door is simply the kindest sweetest person I think I have ever met in Langley. I want her restaurant to succeed so bad just because she is so nice. I so wanted to give the place at least a 4 star rating.
First thing you will see is that they have spent some money renovating. The place is clean looking, beautiful clean white tile, nice chairs, clean buffet area, modern equipment and so on.
I give the food 3.5 out of 5 stars for presentation but «overall» 2.5 for flavour and taste. The variety of offerings is good, I like that the beer is 3.50, I like the layout of the place and the care taken for presentation.
Some items were a bit better than others as for taste, like the sushi is OK. The Beef and Broccoli is good and the spicy noodles are good too. I found the red sweet and sour sauce a bit too sweet for me and the meat in the meat dishes (chicken and pork) a bit tough and over done. I also found all the fried items not to temperature and they all tasted like old fish. The rice was just a horrible waste of time — greasy and tasted like the fried everything else and kind of sticky too. Be nice to have some well cooked plain white rice also for the curried dish.
You have to give them credit for trying though, all the dishes seemed to have nice fresh ingredients and seemed well prepared.
So the décor, They have to cut those ugly purple panels out of the wall and open the place up to some light!!! So, décor 3 but the overall experience and the aggressive flies that would not go away from our table brought it down to 2.
The offerings are good and the price is reasonable at about 15.00 each for dinner, the food is presented well and the staff is super caring and friendly, there are good choices but the food quality needs help for what they are charging at this point.
The girl at the counter mentioned a lot of people think its the same old owners and they are shying away because of the memory of that horrible Thai place.
Go and say hi, check it out yourself and maybe find I caught the food on an off day.

Walked in and walked right out.
What food was out was pretty old and especially considering that there was limited choice.
Definitely not going back.

Have to say this was a lack luster below average and forgettable visit.
Arrived right a 12 noon, a full hour after they start lunch service and most of the buffet pans were empty or missing. By the time we made our way to the buffet to serve our selves, they had finished loading the buffet. While there were 5 noodle dishes, and 7 rice dishes, the Beef and Broccoli a
Was missing the Beef, the chicken and vegetables was missing said chicken, the 5 lonely chicken wings in the beef and mushrooms tray stayed where they were placed the entire time we were there. Lots of sushi trays, but no one had any as they didn’t look to SAFE being left on wooden trays with no ice etc… Spring rolls tasted like a package of mr. noodles rolled up and fried,
Wife is very sensitive to msg in her food and by the time we left she had a full on head thumping msg headache…
Won’t be back and not sure how long this place will be around as the table beside us was commenting in how everything tasted the same!!!

This place in Langely is alright, the outside looks like a run down 80s-​dump, but the inside is actually really modern and nice. There’s a lot of space for groups.
The best part of the buffet is probably the Chinese food, they have there. I would stay away from the sushi, they have them on boats and look like they have been there for a while.
A good thing is the ice cream, they have a lot flavours and the icecream comes in cups that has 2 scoops of it.

Sorry gotta give a thumbs down. Clean décor and friendly staff. Food quality and selection was disappointing.
