Spence and I finally had a week for vacation!!! First stop… Langley, BC. After a loooooooong drive for Spence and hours of napping for me, we were hungry! We arrived around 2pm and decided to hit up our yearly visit which is the Langley Museum of Flight. After our little tour, we finally got the chance to try the Flight Deck café. The past few years we’ve come, we always notice this place(as it is just steps away from the museum) but never had the time to stop and eat. We were greeted, sat and given menus almost immediately. I noticed the dining area is pretty small but it’s comfortable… it has a ‘homey’ feeling to it. They’ve also got a fenced patio and yard located right off a taxiway with an unobstructed view of the main runway so if you’re lucky, you can have a bite to eat outside and watch some planes take off or land! At the flight deck café, they only serve breakfast and lunch. The menu can be described as fresh homemade foods… traditional breakfasts(bacon, eggs, toast…) and for lunch they’ve got soups, sandwiches, burgers, hot and hot dogs. Spence went for the grilled ham and cheese with a caesar salad and I went for the hamburger with french fries. The food came in a timely manner and we dug in. Spence really enjoyed his grilled ham and cheese and I didn’t mind the burger. My burger came with some lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and sauce. It was a tasty homemade burger patty but I don’t think I got the freshest bun which was a bummer. The fries were home cut, not as crispy as I would have liked them but they were good enough. I also got a side of homemade gravy which was awesomesauce! Overall, the service was great! Our server was very attentive, the food was good and the prices were decent for homemade meals! We will be returning next year to try some breakfast!!!
