2nd Glance reminds me of a more thrift-shop-y carpeted Value Village! There is a lot of stock of EVERYTHING. The quality of items seemed low to average overall but I found some Ann Taylor pants in perfect condition for $ 4 and some Stride Rite slippers for my daughter for $ 3. The biggest draw IMHO is the price for books! 50 cents per page thickness so your average novel will be 50 cents or less! I will be back for more books for sure and will enjoy browsing the racks for other treasures! The proceeds go to support various local organizations — they passed along more than $ 150000 in funding in 2014! That’s good reason to donate and shop at 2nd Glance! There are regular sales and a customer appreciation card based on visits(one circle for a min $ 5 purchase). After 10 visits you get $ 10! So that works out to about 20% savings — not bad considering their already low to fair prices from what I saw. All in all, worth the short drive to Leduc for a «little» thrift shop experience.

Even though this store has changed ALOT over the years since I last lived in Leduc I will still pop in the odd time when I am in town and visiting my mother. Some of the changes have been positive and other leave a lot to be desired. They made the move several years back next to the Tim Horton’s and Sobeys which has helped a lot with the parking issues they had over at their prior location.(not enough stalls and getting stuck in snowdrifts in winter) The larger location has also allowed them the ability to take in more donations making it so there is more items to go through when you are in the store«treasure hunting». The biggest issue they have right now is also alienating them a lot from the community. In the last few years the prices have gone up almost double on some items and whoever prices their brand name clothes has no idea what they are doing. Yes I am more then happy to pay a little more for a Roxy hoodie but not when the decal on the front is worn and the string is missing. With the recent improvements made by their competitor Salvation Army I am really not sure how much longer these folks are going to be around. I usually stop in once a month and sometimes when I go I will see the same items for sale that I saw the month prior… definitely not a good sign.
