Well the warm weather and a seat on the patio did not fix the troubles that seem to be here. Again the service was great but the food was lacking. Being a long weekend they were slammed, which is generally a good sign. A slightly«longer than it should have been«wait for our food was met by my immediately noticing that perhaps my wife fish tacos were a tad undercooked. She insisted on eating them anyway so here’s hoping! But once it came time to pay we could overhear the servers explaining that the portable debit machine wasn’t working and so you had to say inside. No problem. Except when it came to our turn and their system wasn’t working. So a quick jaunt to the closest bank, and a $ 3 fee to withdraw cash later, I managed to pay and leave. Most likely for the last time. I can’t fault the restaurant or the servers for any issues with their debit system. However after 3 tries, this place just hasn’t done it for me. Perhaps others have better luck.

I went to the Village Pub on Good Friday since I was craving fish and chips, and there weren’t many places open. I have to say, it was the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. The batter was rock solid, and actually required a knife to saw through it. The fries were frozen and the coleslaw wasn’t fresh tasting. I should have sent it back, but I was really hungry and ate it anyway. Other than the truly awful food, the place is nice. Nice atmosphere, nice staff, great location for those of us that live in the neighbourhood. Nice place to go for a drink, but maybe skip the food.

The Old South Village Pub is a great local watering hole and a lovely spot for a pint on the patio! It’s fun to sit outside and watch the other Wortley folks wander by. The patio is probably this spot’s best attraction– it’s large and inviting. The interior is nice on a cold night and I’ve enjoyed a spot at a corner table with a cider and a beef stew! The food here can be really hit or miss. I’ve had some pretty good stuff, but sometimes it can be sub-par. Service has always been good and the drink prices are reasonable for the setting and the area. It’s a nice spot to sit and have a beer with a friend. I wish the inside was larger, as I know they host a trivia night but I fear that my group would have a tough time getting a seat!

Great place for a pint on the patio on a warm evening. Wood oven pizzas are phenomenal, rest of the menu is standard pub fare but nothing to rave about. Friendly service, wonderful atmosphere.

Fish and chips: should be good standard fare at a pub. The fish was over cooked and the batter was thin and too hard — not crispy, but actually like an egg shell. The tartar sauce seemed a bit off. The fries were semi okay and the service was decent. The patio is nice and spacious.

The one thing I think a pub needs to get right is fish and chips, and alas I was very disappointed with them here. The fish was overcooked so it was tough and chewy. My boyfriend made the same comments on his hamburger – overcooked and chewy – and the focaccia bun they served it on, while it looked nice, was very tough so it made the burger difficult to eat. Server was very friendly though. Seems like a nice place to come for drinks(moreso when the patio is set up, since the interior is pretty small), but don’t expect much from the food.

Came here for the first time on a Friday night with my boyfriend. Atmosphere: we actually didn’t set foot inside. We ate on the heated patio which was cozy. Food: potato skins for an appetizer which were standard. I had the cheese, fruit and nut salad with chicken. Huge portion and quality ingredients. My boyfriend had the steak pasta. The pasta was a little undercooked and I didn’t think it was restaurant quality pasta but he enjoyed it. Service: kind of slow. Appetizer and entrees came out together. Our server was incredibly awkward but I suppose that doesn’t reflect on the restaurant as a whole. Price: $$. I found it to be overpriced for what we got. $ 17 for pasta and $ 19 for salad is a bit much for a pub in my opinion. I would come back for lunch or drinks but wouldn’t drop that much on dinner here again.
