Terrible. Chowder was curdled– lemon and cream together. Fish was so greasy I sopped it up with two napkins. Don’t go!

We enjoyed our seafood lunch as always. Vic had scallops and Connie had crab cakes. Yum! Vic enjoyed a local beer and I had coffee. Always room to park in back when street is crowded. Staff very pleasant.

I’ve come to this establishment several times with my wife or friends. My wife raves about the fish tacos. I like the Anchor Burger, Jack Burger and the clubhouse. Had the fish and chips recently but found the fish batter too greasy for my taste. I like the 17 choices of beer on tap. Lots of selection for just about any beer preference. Good staff and very pleasant. Great view of the bay from the deck. Parking around back is sufficient. Don’t rely on the street parking.

I was kind of disappointed on my last trip to the Mug and Anchor. I’d been there a couple times before in summers past(always brought friends from out of town there). But I think in my head — I always romanticized the restaurant. The view is beautiful and the deck is kind of nice. But the restaurant is dated, needs renovation and is overall … tired. The food also wasn’t quite as I remembered. I got the Scallops and Fries. I believe the last time I had them, they were breaded. This time, they were pan fried and kind of greasy. Sad! My bf got a burger. It seemed«meh.» I wasn’t overly impressed. However, the beer and burger was a special for $ 10.99 or something(so a good deal). On the plus side, the beer was nice and cold. Conclusion: The Mug and Anchor will always exist in a much happier place in my memory.
