I dont think i have had a complete stranger be so rude to me. My boyfriend and I walked into the restaurant, we waited at the foyer patiently for quite some time while the servers starred at us from different parts of the room until finally we were greeted by a tall skinny girl with blonde hair. I said«table for 2 please?» She asked us if we had made a reservation and we said no unfortunately not. She looked at a piece of paper for a second and said very rudely«were completely full for the entire night, next time come back with a reservation». Sorry to say but i doubt we will be returning. The night was still young and we definitely saw quite a few tables open.

This place is doing a great job, small and could use some cocktails but loved the rest, great pasta, bread and salad.

Went to Il Corsaro about 2 weeks ago sans kids — excellent dinner — I can’t wait to go again. Loved it from start(ceasar salad) to finish(homemade tiramisu). Husband had the pasta with sausage, I had the ravioli which was perfect. The pasta on the ravioli was perfectly thin like it should be. Drank a lot of their house wine which was wonderful. Totally agree with other reviewers that it is cheap for the quality they offer. Great for a date night — probably not a place you want to bring little kids. Very cozy and romantic atmosphere.

Il Corsaro has been around for years! Their first location in Commercial Drive was owned and ran by the current owner’s parents and was moved to Maple Ridge a few years ago. This little and cozy restaurant has become one of the most popular italian restaurants in the area thanks to their consistency, amazing service, and great food. I have personally tried it many times and it always makes me come back! Their food is tasty with the old traditional Italian flavours and their ingredients are fresh and good quality. Every dish is made on the spot. I love their baked stuffed shells and also their Arabiatta sauce, their soups and I could not forget recommending their Turamisu(soo goooood!!!). They have specials for $ 18.95 that include your choice of soup or salad and an entrée. You could also choose your favorite pasta and then mix and match with your favorite sauce. Please try the Pesto Sauce! Their service is great, Johnny makes his way out from the kitchen to the dining room to talk to his clients and make sure everything is good. The restaurant manager, Michaela, is amazing! She is in charge of really running the place! She takes the orders, explains the dishes on the menu in detail and makes sure everything comes out right. I love Il Corsaro and I totally recommend it! If you are looking for home made, traditional, real Italian food from«La Mamma» and good service, check them out! They are right on 224th and Dewdney Trunk.

My husband and I just came back from a lovely dinner, service was great, prices are comparable, salad was very good, loved the dressing. The only thing I wish they had a bigger place, a little crowded. I was married to an Italian for almost 40 yrs.; although not as good as his mother’s cooking was very good but she was among the best.

Hi. Last night me and my girlfriend decided we would go out on a whim and try out il Corsario pasta bar in Maple Ridge BC. It’s a small restaurant in I guess what you would call, the city centre. The atmosphere was nice. They have a full bar, about 4 medium sized booths, and a half dozen small tables that are«just» big enough for two(don’t get the wobbly one next to the door). Several nicely frames paintings hang on the walls… whatever, the atmosphere was great. We ordered no starter, and no alcohol. Just pop and water, as well as the main course’s. My girlfriend had manicotti stuffed with ground beef, herbs, and Parmesan. It soaked in a bath of bolognese sauce, covered with mozzarella and basil and then baked. Looked delicious, and the smell was good too. As for myself I had spaghetti noodles, topped with a spicy tomato sauce then adorned with slabs of thick cut spicy Italian sausage. Again good smell, good presentation. Both meals came with a price tag just under $ 20. Was it worth it? In my opinion no. Don’t get me wrong it was good food. But not good enough to charge that much. The portion size was just enough to fill my starving belly. My girlfriends dish was big enough to fill her up, we got leftovers out of that one(she’s eating it for lunch as I write this). It was in my opinion overpriced, that’s my only negative. For traditional simple Italian food, it does not in my opinion need to cost this much. Unless your getting your money’s worth in portion sizing, this unfortunately is not the case. Food good, not great. Price bad, very bad. =(

I know I know… a lot of people out here in the Ridge love this place. Me. meh…I’ve had better. I just wasn’t crazy about it. Maybe I had heard too much hype around town about it. For me the food wasn’t great. Service was good… décor was fine… food, not sooo great. But that is just me. Maybe I hit it on a off night?

Very good veal with pasta My hubby has their lobster crab ravioli. Both are very good. Cheap for the type of quality they offer. Highly recommend!

There aren’t many good places to eat in Maple Ridge. One exception is Il Corsaro, on the south side of Dewdney Trunk near 224th. It’s a bit of a hole-in-the-wall place, a few tables tucked into long space with a tiny patio out front. Inside it is warm and cozy, with a décor reliant on rich colours and subdued lighting. Minimalist and tasteful, like the menu, which doesn’t overstretch, instead doing a few things very, very well. They have a sheet of mix-and-match pastas and sauces, a few meat entrees, a few salads and that’s about it. And it’s really, really good. They make a truly kick-ass dressing for the house salad — oil and balsamic and oregano and a touch of anchovy — that I can’t quite seem to mimic at home. Another favourite of ours is the mixed plate: a sausage, a couple of meatballs, a piece of tender braised chicken and the pasta of the day. One mixed plate, one salad, a couple of glasses of the house wine — a perfectly lovely dinner for two. This place hits all the right notes for me — unpretentious, terrific personal service, local, delicious.
