Mac/Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale

This warehouse sale is open at the beginning of every season, but you need a ticket to get in. (You can get it through connections/​kijiji etc.) The sale is for anyone 12+ and I think the max you can spend is $ 500. It goes from fri-​sunday with friday being the most popular since that’s when it’s fully stocked. The lineups start at 7am (sale starts at 8am) and the line can be over a hr long.
The sale is a disappointment and a half. The first time I went (at age 15), I was speechless. Mac Lipsticks for $ 7?! Clinique toner for $ 10?! Smashbox shadow palettes buy one get one free ?! Estee Lauder mascara for $ 10?! SOLD! Pretty sure the first few times I’ve been, I spent $ 200 EACH time. that’s A LOT for a little girl making minimum wage at no frills. Nowadays. the sale is still a sale. but it’s not as worth it anymore (since I know the prices from before). The lipsticks are around $ 12 – 15 each, blushes are $ 15, mascaras are $ 10 – 15 etc. There’s also a $ 4 section with eyelashes, mini perfumes, pan eyeshadows etc. (It used to be the $ 3 section –_​-​)
Expect teenagers with heavy drag queen makeup and middle-​aged ladies fighting you for room. no thank you! Hungry hands ripping rejected last season coloured eyeshadow with a crappy finish from me? NO THANKS! Heavy breathing down my neck wherever I turn? NOPE. NOT FOR ME. 10 gazillion people in line to pay?! These are the reasons why I ALWAYS sell my tickets away… the retailer finds a way to jack up the prices every year hoping nobody will notice. I HAVE. I THINK WE ALL HAVE.
Honestly, I can see why people get so excited for this sale but at the same time, I can’t see why anyone would go more than once. I remember going 2 seasons ago and walking straight back out after 10 minutes empty-​handed.
