This is my favourite grocery store(yes, I do enjoy grocery shopping!) This is a excellent place to get fresh meat(antibiotic-free, grain-fed) such as steaks, chicken, pork. They have a good variety to choose from. The fruits and veggies are very fresh here. They have a good selection of organic produce as well. The best part about shopping here is the customer service. In north america, the customer service has gotten worse and worse over the years so I am happy to find a grocery store that has good service and fresh food. I come here very often over the last 3 years and have not had any bad encounters. The employees seem happy and cheerful and very helpful. The produce staff even taught me tricks on how to pick fresh produce. And the cashiers always neatly bag your grocery in a systemic way(separating the meat, veggies, and bread). Will continue to be a loyal customer

A great place for quality fruits and vegetables. You can get great deals on ripe fruit so if you want fruit today be sure to look for the specials. Also if you’re vegan you can often get a case of organic bananas for a discount if you ask

I love groceries, markets, farms, orchids. There is nothing that makes me happier then seeing an array of vibrant colours of different fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately a lot of grocery store leaves me disappointed but not this one. The garden basket is an extremely well run grocery store. The place is neat and everything is well displayed. What sets them apart is their selections of fruits and vegetables that are usually of a higher grade with lots of organic options. The meat here is also always of a better grade too with lots of locally raised hormone free meats. Their lean Italian sausage is pretty darn good. Really refreshing to see a grocery store run like it should be. TGB is a wonderful bonus to the neighborhood.

The Garden Basket has been around as long as remember. Back then when there were no Sobeys, No Frills, Longos in the area, this is where all the local residents shops. The fresh products, meat and deli departments are still great and fresh. The weakness is their dry goods and staples which are limited in selections and is a little more pricier than No Frills just North of it, They do carries awesome seasonal garden plants and their flower baskets are the prettiest and with great flower combinations! The Garden Basket really involves in the local communities by hiring a lot of students and sponsors local event like the Markham Home Show.
