We did not have a good experience with Porter. To start things off the movers didn’t show up! After a few hours of calling them we were told that the movers had been in an accident. We then missed the elevator time slot — having to delay the move 24 hours which caused a domino effect of problems: the cleaner who was meant to come had to be cancelled last minute(unable to be rescheduled), the girl who was meant to move in(and her movers) had to be postponed 24 hours and we missed a whole series of very costly personal commitments which I wont even get into here. We tried to keep our cool, knowing things like car accidents happen and it was out of their control. What happened the next day caused me to question whether this accident even happened. Although the movers arrived the next morning to move us out, they did not stay for the entire move out — causing us to have to finish the move ourself. The reason they gave was that they’d been double booked for another move. They also were not able to do the agreed upon bed dismantle because they did not have tools. Then when we get to the new place to move in we received a call from the movers notifying us that they’d be 2 hours late. Fearing our elevator timeslot, which was only 2 hours, would be missed again leaving us stranded for the night, we had to move in OURSELVES. Our calls were left unanswered by their HQ. By the time they showed up there was only a couch and a mattress left. To add insult to injury — at the end of the night we find out that our bed was never put in the moving van. We had to drive to our old residence and fish it out of a dumpster. I’ve had highly complicated moves across countries before and nothing compares to this truly an awful experience. There were a series of complete failures on behalf of Porter which lead me to believe they are far too concerned with booking as many moves as possible and much less concerned about customer service. Consider yourself warned!
