I love local businesses that cater to Montréal strengths like young, fun, fashionable design. I pop in here from time to time and pick up some simple articles that speak to the minimalist esthetic and beautiful pieces. It’s a little understated and the people that work there are a little on the reserved side. I would have liked some more engagement and an explanation of the pieces I am looking at. How it was made, why fabrics were chose, something about the style, etc. I bring my teenage daughter here once so she can understand the difference between an atelier and a retailer. Between a process and between a transaction. I support this business because what it means for the young urban Montréal fashion scene. It’s certainly not cheap, but the pieces are meaningful.

What absolutely beautiful clothing! The pieces designed and produced right in the store are both classic and unique, well made and oh so totally Montréal — I am %100 saving up to buy a pretty summer dress/skirt from here. What I liked most about the dresses was not only their fit and fabric but I can just tell that they will be able to withstand the wear and tear that is inevitable for me when I spend all summer biking around Montréal. The space itself is cool and is host to a variety of events supporting local art and music. Big fan!

Gorgeous space helping to bridge the gap around the underpass at St Laurent and Van Horne, Yay! Bright, open — watch the designers make new clothes while you try things on in this combination atelier/boutique. Lots of sharp basics for men and women in eco materials with clever, tasteful twists. Thanks to MP over on talk for pointing me at Atelier B!
