Pretty decent place for a drink and hangout with friends. The music was kinda bad but the atmosphere kind of made up for it.

Wanna party with ~75−80% locals? Bienvenue! Now this is my kind of joint, aside from the one that is rolled exquisitely in a Zig-Zag(to keep it French); which is exactly what your boy from Boston was guilty of indulging in before stepping in and getting down on some Friday night fever. Hip-Hop and you don’t stop! I couldn’t boogie to anything less, and the DJ was more than happy to oblige. He brought the heat that was much needed on an otherwise froid nuit. Thaw-out accomplished. The crowd was great, super unpretentious vibe and drama free. Very«live and let live». My only gripe was that the dance floor was just a bit small, but I suppose it keeps the ladies even closer in quarters. The culture as a whole here in Montréal is truly, truly incredible, and seeps effortlessly through the pores of all who are lucky enough to call this town ‘domicile’. They also pride themselves in sticking two middle fingers to winter weather and proceed to kick it square in the ballsack for 5 – 6 months of the year. Tabernak! Individualism and creativity sans judgement is praised and appreciated on this Island oasis, which is exactly why I consider this charming city my spiritual home. Je t’aime, 514… –Bean

It would have been 5 stars if the place was bigger. The layout is basically a bar on one side and booths on the other. Walk through and at the end there’s a small dance floor. Really not that big so it becomes a bit of a mosh pit by 12ish. Went on a Friday night. $ 5 cover. No dress code, so thats a huge plus for girls like me who want to wear kicks. Okay now all night we had shooters aka shots. The price is RIDICULOUSLY good. 4 shots for $ 13. Yes you read right. Isn’t that the best friggen deal a bar has ever given?! Forget cocktails and mixed drinks. Just get drunk off cheap shots. Beer is around $ 5 – 7 which is also very good. Music was a mix of hip hop and top 40 — mostly hiphop. DJ was good since he didn’t play a song too short or too long. Good crowd ! First time and I was pleasantly surprised! Bad thing is they didn’t have coatcheck. WHYDONTYOUHAVECOATCHECKINNOVEMBER?! and it’s 1 degrees outside. Makes no sense. Then again, I guess the idea if to just throw your stuff in a booth and hope for the best.

Went there on a friday night in August. 5 $ cover charge was a bit annoying but once you pay you can go in and out. The music was cool, and it was pretty busy. Would recommend if you want a cool place to go to on St-Laurent!

I came here on a Friday night to celebrate a friend’s bachelorette in a group of 15 women. It’s a small venue and I think we quickly attracted the wrong kind of attention – from pickpockets. As I was standing on the crowded dance floor, I felt someone open my purse and whipped around just in time for him to drop my wallet. It was too late for my phone and he had handed it off the another guy(who handed it off to another). We told the bouncer and he offered absolutely no help – from his dismissive response, I assume he was well aware of who did it and probably involved himself. The guys who took it were very well coordinated which makes me think that this happens often here. Beware!

I usually don’t write reviews for night time spots, but this is a true gem. We’re not from Montréal so anytime we can experience an authentic place where locals frequent is a bonus. The weekend parties do have a small cover charge($ 5) but it’s totally worth it. They play a variety of hip hop and the place is always packed from end to end with people. Suggestion: order a drink and make yourself at home. There are booths that everyone shares — to sit on or to throw down your coat. But the best part is that you always leave making a friend. Everyone is there to have a good time — so enjoy this unique experience!

After looking for local bars in Montréal on Google sought out this spot. I heard it had good music(which I’m all about) so I strolled in. Problem was, there wasn’t a soul in there at 10:30PM but the bartender and DJ with a couple other bartenders coming in shortly thereafter. I thought about leaving but I hung around. Good decision. I got to shoot the shit with the locals and made some friends in the process while tripping out to some deep house on a Tuesday night. Who wouldn’t like that? Good drinks, good music super chill peeps. Go!

Probably the best bar on The Main. Styles change nightly but bring a great vibe regardless. Get Nice Fridays are one of the best in Montréal — only good hip hop night in the city. Oh, and they make mason jar size Mojitos so there’s that also. So if you’re out an about, why aren’t you here yet?!

This is my go-to spot on St. Laurent. I tend to go on a friday night and I go mostly for the music(old school hip hop and the like) and the crowd. I generally find the crowd to be chill and everyone is there to dance and be silly. Most times it is a bit older than the other bars in the area which is also excellent. Best place to dance on that part of st. laurent fer surrree!

I recently celebrated my 25th birthday in Montréal and chose this place for the festivities. Why you may ask? First off, the décor and vibe of this place is somewhere between divey and classy, which I love! Secondly, Saturday night is” MOD club”! If you love 60s soul music and British pop this is the spot for you! The music was great, the beer is modestly priced and we had one of the many big booths to ourselves. It was a good night!

Went by on a Thursday night and it was a fantastic fun crowd with a packed dance floor. This place is alive and served up some seriously, full on house music. I love the vibe and atmosphere. Be warned though, CASHONLY!

Dropped by on a Tuesday night and they were slamming old school hip-hop(no cover). It’s right next door to Blue Dog — so you can co-mingle with the dubsteppers there on a Tuesday night or just pop in if you want to spaz out. Anyways — spent the majority of my time here. Dope little bar with a crazy fast bartender. The place was packed and he was the only server working. Cozy booths and plenty of seating around the bar with a little dancefloor in the back. Unpretentious, fun and cheap. You can dance or just drink while listening to some Golden era hip hop. I wish there were more places like this where I’m from.

Blizzarts has been around for over 15 years, it’s a small lounge with generally awesome music, nice looking space but unpretentious, their motto is «be nice or leave» and THAT I can relate to. There is an open seating space near the window on St Laurent, a couple of big cozy booths, and a sexy little dance floor in the back in front of the turntables. Each night has a different theme, promoter, and Facebook group, making for a friendly community vibe.
