Tw: Racism . . . . . . . Came here on a Friday with two girlfriends but I forgot my ID(I am originally from Bangladesh so they only take my passport and apparently my National ID is not acceptable). So when we tried to enter Tokyo, the bouncer asked if I have my passport and I said no but then the bouncer went on to say«So how did you get here? On a boat?» I found this to be extremely racist considering the recent refugee scenario and me being brown so I told the guy that it was racist. He further gets furled up and defensive and says«You’re calling me racist? How could you say that?» Then I said«sir, first you assumed I was an immigrant by the colour of my face and then you joked about how I got here. Joking about this is not cool» The guy got heated up and shoved me and my friends out from the club and embarrassed us in front of everyone. I felt very insulted and would discourage people from going to this club who cannot treat people with respect.

Very nice but very exclusive, look good to get in! You won’t regret this chic night in Montréal

Very classy establishment, only let people in wearing designer brands, only the best looking people in Montréal. Don’t try to get in without a table reservation — it won’t work.

I went on a Sunday night expecting the emptiness that it was. I was fine with it. I asked to see the inside of the bar before going inside but an employee refused saying i had to pay for the cover first. It was not worth the 8 dollar cover. The place was dirty, the doorless female/male bathrooms were dirty and unsanitary. I wouldn’t go again nor recommend this place to anyone.

An amazing time! I got right in(the girls ahead of me didn’t) and after I was in I was greeted by a small dance floor and that would feel smaller as they packed this place to the rafters. But everyone is friendly and there’s no «why are you still here?» going on. Drinks are a great price too!

Tokyo bar was such an amazing experience. Everyone provided remarkable service. Tylar, our bartender not only provided excellent entertainment but also excellent drinks(that he chose for us.) But also great conversation, overall his friendly demeanour made our experience here so excellent. It can’t go without mentioning that he’s a total fox. I will definitely recommend.

Got to the club around 12:30 on a Friday night and there was a good number of people on the dance floor. There is a $ 5 cover and the music was really good when we got there. It’s mostly top 40, tunes you can dance to. The space however is very small and everyone is squished like sardines on the dance floor. Yes, obviously you want to go to a club with a lively crowd, but there were points where dancing or even swaying side to side was impossible. Also, their dance floor is filthy. I was stepping on small rocks and straws all night which was irking and uncomfortable. There is a rooftop patio accessible with pretty fairy lights for when you need to take a breather. As for the crowd, it’s mostly people in their early/mid twenties. With a name like Tokyo Bar, you would think that it would be a sea of asians, but the crowd is more multicultural than expected! If you’re from Toronto, it is nothing like a Friday night at Easy on the Fifth. Also, it should be noted that their tequila shots were the absolutely awful. Don’t ever get the tequila. Ever.

Don’t do it. It’s tempting for the«crazy» and the popular music but there are an infinite number of places to go instead that are clean, crazy, and play the right music for a fun night of dancing.

Made a stop here on a weekend trip to Montréal this May. The rooftop is decent and has a bar that is not overly crowded in comparison to the ones by the dance floor. The DJ played some hip hop and house music which was great but the dance floor is way too small! I wish they had a larger dance floor, not sure if I’d go back to this particular place, It seems more appealing to a early 20s crowd.

The rooftop terrace and bar are awesome for late summer nights and it is the only reason why I would consider coming back. I went there for their Rooftop BBQ event(entrance was 7 $ with a free beer which is more than reasonable) and it was alright, the DJ was good, the staff was friendly and the setting was perfect but the atmosphere in itself could have been better. The way you are welcomed at the door is already an indication of the kind of place you’re getting in, they were«filtering» people on questionable criteria. Now I understand the need for some degree of selectivity when you’re trying to convey a certain image as an establishment, but this was far beyond a simple«dress code» issue. This can seem very subjective and, yes, indeed, it is, but I felt like this was the kind of place where people go to see and be seen, and that was it. If you want to get up there, grab a cheap beer and take an insta pic with a view before leaving early, go ahead, but that’s about it. I’d recommend going there with a group of friends as the place is great, but you definitely have to bring the party with you, ’cause there’s not much«party» there in the first place, just a whole lot of noise and confused people taking selfies. I will definitely go back to try it out on a random night as I saw a lot of good reviews, I may have been at the wrong place at the wrong time and the event itself was not really well organized, who knows. Although I definitely feel like I could have a better time somewhere else.

My favourite bar on the strip, especially in the summer. The back patio up top is huge, great music and reasonably priced drinks. You can get 4 beers and four shots for 30 $ which is awesome and on Thursday/Fridays they have bottle specials that are under 130 $! As far as the staff goes they are friendly, approachable and quick at what they do. Its a great place to dance and have a great time with friends. Be ready to dance and be open to have a good time !

Cool rooftop bar. Dance floor was packed so much you could hardly move. Trough for a urinal. Good music and vibe though some of the guys I had to walk past smelled awful. I don’t understand how people can go out being so stereotypically smelly. Anyway, we were on the top floor and it was quiet and relaxing and good to catch up with my friends. Would I come back? I guess. But there’s also better bars and clubs in the city.

Traveled to Montréal from New York for a bachelor party and we found our way on the back deck of Tokyo. We had an absolute BLAST. The entire staff(Bartenders, Doormen, and Bouncers) were extremely friendly — actually they were probably the only friendly and hospitable employees that we encountered our entire trip! This place has a lot to offer. If you are coming from out of town, give it a try!

Must visit if your in downtown Montréal! Atmosphere is welcoming. Music is good and upstairs has outdoor lounging. The only problem is the bar gets very crowded as well as the dance floor which makes it difficult to maneuver because the people don’t move for shit

«Chain hang to my ding-a-lang. Chain hang, chain hang to my ding-a-lang.» B.O.B. ft. 2 Chainz — Headband Tokyo Bar + Sunday Night + Hip Hop Tunes = My ass gettin’ busy on the dance floor and local hot Asian chicks rockin’ Jordans. This club consists of one fairly large room, a bar on either end and also two terraces; one dance floor level out back, and the other upstairs on the rooftop(that of which in particular is closed during winter). Be sure to get there early — I’d say 11:30 the latest — and though there is no code on Sunday, it won’t hurt to dress the part just in case. Unfortunately this World generally embraces beauty over brains, so looking top shelf may be the deciding factor between you getting denied at the door and instead go to Muzique, or potentially being able to make out with said hot Asian chicks rockin’ Jordans. The choice is yours. *Beantowns Finest*

I was here again recently for a private daytime Movember event on the terrasse and thought ohhh lovely. If you can be here when the weather is good the roof and back terrasse are totally great for late summer night drinking to a beat. Inside though, I dunno, not much my scene these days. They do get some awesome guest djs now and again, and that alone is worth keeping an eye out for.
