I used to go here all the time for shoe repairs. I brought in a pair of boots with a broken zipper and was quoted a price for the fix. When I went to pick them up, I found that they’d replaced the broken zipper with a mismatched one in a different colour and style. When I asked if they expected me to wear mismatched boots, they replied that they could change the other zipper to match, but that it would cost extra. When I refused to pay extra, they tried to hold my boots for ransom until I paid them more money. Rude, abusive service by the management. I will never, ever go back there.

I love this place, it’s not only a Cordonnerie(I don’t know the name in English). They also sell shoes and boots, sandals, name it, they have everything! They also have Boulet which are boot Made in Quebec, difficult to find a place to get some but mainly they are known for their Cowboy boots but John Lennon use to have a pair of classy-zipper Mods style low boots. Love iti! They also have lot of shoes for the kids and prices are within normal range without being that much of a bargain. As for the Cordonnerie, they are old school, they can fix lot of different shoes and staff have lot of experience.

I have several pairs of shoes from this place. The best is the sidewalk sale, which I think is twice a year, during the avenue street fair. Any pair of shoes/boots for $ 40. Get there early. They are also very good about repairing shoes for a reasonable price.
