Came here for breakfast with the family. The food here is good and the prices are reasonable. But the service was poor. Our table didn’t have any cutlery and napkins. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins. Also it took them quite a while to bring us the menus. Plus my wife’s cup smelt like egg. The food was the only saving grace this place had to get this rating.

Stayed at the Best Western so we ate here for dinner. We shared a family platter, which include a rack of ribs and various different meats. We selected the pulled pork and 2 helpings of jerk chicken. We also got mac & cheese and fries as our sides. This was way too much food for 2 people but we knew that ahead of time. We had a fridge in our room though so we were glad to take the leftovers. The ribs were excellent. Better than ribs I’ve had at almost any restaurant I can think of. The pulled pork was also top notch. Not the best I’ve ever had, but very, very good. The jerk chicken was just good, not great, not bad, just good. All the food had a nice smokey flavour to it. The BBQ sauces were sweet with a touch of spice. The fries weren’t very good, but I was too full to eat them anyway. I didn’t have the mac & cheese, but my girlfriend said it was very good. I’d gladly eat here again if I was in the mood for BBQ type food. The prices were reasonable and the food was very good for the most part.

My husband and I had an excellent meal at Fitz’s recently. Truth be told I wasn’t expecting much from this place; we have driven by it so many times and it doesn’t look like much from the outside and we only went because we had a Groupon, but boy are we glad we did! What a little gem in Bells Corners! So Fitz’s is attached to the Best Western Hotel in Bells Corners, and inside it looks like a cross between a pub and a restaurant. The bar is prominent and there are flat-screen TVs around. The décor is very modern even though from the outside it looks like it would be dated. We came for an early dinner on a Sunday evening(5pm) and for the hour that we were there, we were the only ones in the restaurant(I guess it’s still a secret how good this place is). Our server was Jacob(or at least that’s what it says on our receipt) and he was amazingly attentive(yes, we were the only ones in the restaurant but I have been in similar situations in other restaurants and the service was still poor). He checked on us often(but not too often to be annoying), paid attention to when we needed more drinks and was overall polite and nice. We both had the soup of the day(chicken noodle with vegetables)(regular price $ 3.50) which was good. It had big chunks of chicken. It was a bit salty for my taste but most people would find it fine. Then we both had the chef’s salad(regular price $ 5) which had real mixed greens(not just iceberg or romaine), tomatoes, cucumber and onions. I asked for dressing on the side and the dressing came on the side(I am amazed at how many restaurants get this wrong), although my husband’s dressing also came on the side, so I suspect this is customary for this restaurant(which in my opinion is the way it should always be). We also both had the filet mignon and shrimp(regular price $ 28) and we both had sweet potato fries as our side. Our mains were huge. The plate had a nice 6 oz filet mignon, 4 good-sized shrimp(like maybe size 31⁄40) on a bed of rice pilaf, some steamed veggies(carrot, broccoli and cauliflower) and lots of sweet potato fries. The fries were shoestring(yay, my favourite cut) and were lightly battered. They were so crisp and delicious and came with a seasoned mayo dip. The shrimp were sauteed with garlic and very flavourful. The steak was pretty good. Now I don’t expect a steak from a restaurant attached to a Best Western to be of the same calibre as a steak from say the restaurant attached to the Hilton Lac Leamy(which as an aside is consistently excellent) but for what it is, it was fantastic. Then for our shared dessert we had the strawberry cheesecake(regular price $ 6). It was a nice slice of cheesecake topped with strawberry sauce(with big chunks of real strawberries in it) and whipped cream and a glazed fresh strawberry on the side. Probably not made in-house, but delicious nonetheless. I didn’t finish my sweet potato fries because I wanted to leave room for dessert, so I asked our server to pack up my fries. When I got home I opened the box to see that not only did he pack up my fries, but he gave me a new small container of the spiced mayo! Talk about awesome service! We had such a pleasant experience, we will definitely be back!

Bells Corners is limited on their options for breakfast places — this is one of them. The food is good — they used to have a much larger menu but with the ownership change a few years ago they trimmed it down which had its good and bad points. The service could use some work — it seems being curt and short is training here — as this is a family owned restaurant I would have expected more personality from the wait staff. The restaurant is directly attached to the Best Western Hotel which can make it busy at times. There used to be an outside patio but with recent hotel renovations it seems to have disappeared which is a shame as the interior of the restaurant is laking any kind of energy. It not too dated or old as far as décor goes — its just not inspiring in anyway. Basically its somewhere decent enough to eat in Bells Corners for breakfast…

ok, this place re-branded a few months ago… so the food was really good, eggs benny was tasty, eggs poached properly and sauce not to heavy — sadly our server was not on it at all, firstly thought her breasts were going to fall onto the table and her shirt was way too tight and too much showing off… lol — she was pretty harsh and not on the ball at all — very flustered… the son of the owner was serving the next table and from what we heard did a great job… wish we had him. great spot, amazing how someone can have such an impact on your business.
