Hard to find place, whip out your gps. It’s in the back roads once you get past the outlet shopping, way off the busy road. Great location for the locals. And for the hockey games, this is awesome too, own parking in the back plus another one across the street. Have come here a few times for drinks, great atmosphere like an Earl’s but without the high prices. Cool that they even have a shuttle to the casino nearby.

Great pub and awesome building, it’s neat seeing all the pictures of the old boats that decorate the walls. Love love love the gamberoni prawns. Omg. Definitely get it with the garlic toast, as it’s almost served in a sauce, you won’t be disappointed. Perfect amount of garlic but not overpowering. Highly suggest the crab cake salad, real crab meat!!! I have comfort knowing my food is fresh and not from a freezer bag from Costco. The mango salsa is a nice touch too. Frankie G’s is one of Queensboroughs gems.

I love having a great quality local restaurant to come when I need something to eat. They have incredibly friendly staff who are happy to work with you to get the meal you want — and they offer a range of options, including gluten free crab cakes which my roommate loves. And the crab cake Benedict in the brunch Menu is Devine!!!

I have good service for a long time and then I get service that is dismal. Inconsistent. As a local I try to go elsewhere like the little known but way better service of Rozzini’s to ease frustration. Stopping for a burger n beer is fine it seems. This time I Ordered the Red curry pizza and got a dry crust cheese and shrimp pizza-no cilantro and no red curry to speak of. I was told they forgot cilantro and they don’t put too much red curry on because people complain. Funny — don’t most want to at least taste these? So what they can do –give me 50% off. Great patio avail and their burger and meatballs are v. Good! As for the pizza, the bartender comp’d pizza which was the right solution-I appreciated it.

Oh Frankie G’s. I’m trying to like you. I’m trying reeeeal hard. Your food is good. I’ll give you that. Yet with few exceptions I never see the same server in there twice. What gives? Are you a bad place to work for? I do have to say, the service in there sucks more often than not. Last time I was in there, we sat down, got drinks, asked for menus and it took the airhead server TWENTYMINUTES to get us menus and it wasn’t even that busy in there. We were friggin’ starving so we just paid for our beer and left. We won’t be back because you decided to allow KIDS in there now and as far as I’m concerned, pubs are the one sacred place people can go to have a decent meal without seeing a toddler. I was pretty shocked and disgusted to see some guy bring a two year old to the bar, plop it down in front of the beer taps and take a picture. No, pubs like FG’s and kids are not a good combination. This place is unreal. Great food, and always a guranteed good time. It’s a great pub, with friendly owners. The food isn’t like your usual standard pub food, it has so much flavour. I know that one of the chefs back there went to culinary school in Italy and cooked there for many years. Tons of flavour. Drinks are always good, always something new which is nice for a change. All in all a great place. Love the patio and the fire pit. The recent new colors outside on the paint job looks wicked! Good stuff guys!

I am a little biased. I live in the hood and this is my local. In here almost every week. Food: I have been through most of the menu so I know my favs. There have a been a few misses, but mostly hits. Standard pub options like burgers, pizza, beef dip. They have a huge wing flavour menu, so if you like wings this is your place. I really like the mussels on the appy menu. The tomato broth is so flavourful. Make sure your order a side of garlic bread so you can sop it all up. Fridays they have an amazing prime rib special. We like to go for the special and to play trivia from little h entertainment. More on food: When they advertise a special dinner like their recent craft beer dinner. GO! The chef gets his chance to shine. My usual partner in crime K and I rolled out the pub after an epic 3 course meal paired with a pint of craft beer from parallel 49 for each course. Food again: good Sunday brunch. K loves the Frankie’s Benny that has crab cake in it. I am partial to their Caesar special. They recently brought back their build your own Caesar special. Staff: awesome! If Jay isn’t behind the bar, he is at the door greeting us. Calvin is the manager and he is always out mingling with the patrons. We have never had an issue with the service that has been noted on other reviews. Maybe we don’t notice, because we are too busy mingling with the neighbours come in for a quick dinner. Ambiance: there is a little bit for everyone. They have lots of tvs for sports. Not a fan of UFC but they show all the fights. I tend to avoid those nights. Friday night is Trivia. Prizes include g/c to the pub. Summertime they have a big patio. They are planning to expand it to make it bigger. For someone that lives in the area, this is truly a neighbourhood pub. Always run a neighbour or two. Very welcoming.

What can be said about Frankie G’s? Since it’s the new year, I will start on a positive note: great location especially for the people of Queensborough, nice building marketing a nautical-fisherman theme, food, for the most part, good, especially the appies. Despite these positives, I am reluctant to return due to a fundamental flaw that lies within what is most important, the service. Why go to an establishment that treats its customers, many who have spent significant amounts of hard earned money there, like second class citizens! Most of the waitresses seem to make effort to attend, but it is evident that these attempts are insincere and gratuity driven. Perhaps they should give a bigger cut to the full time bartender who stands stoically behind the bar, oblivious to what«friendly» customer service is. But what is most offensive is the over-sized«Mini-me» host of the Infamous Friday night trivia, who on several occasions has been observed to clear out the room by forcing his half-witted trivia questions on all patrons whether they wish to participate or not. The owners are obviously aware that Frankie G’s is the only establishment of its kind in the area, clearly taking for granted the needs of possible long term patrons, placing little value on repeat business.

I want this pub to be good as it is within walking distance to my place. However, in the 4 –5 times I’ve visted the service is hit and miss. There have been two times where my wife and I have felt that we are being ignored by the wait staff once we sit down. If a place is not busy I feel like good service means being greated by your waitress within 5 minutes of sitting down. Food is ok. I think the best I’ve had is the prime rib. Burgers are your typical pub fare. Visit in the summer months as their patio is quite nice.

Nothing to say beyond what’s been said. Their fries are amazing, their service? Well, lacking in all the ways defined by others. A shame too… a little work and this place could be a hidden gem.

Not a part of town I would look for a good pub(we had a coupon and were driving through the area) but it turns out it was one of the best true neighbourhood pubs I have ever been to. The food was very good(I had a seafood dish with fries) but the thing that made me love this place was the trivia game they did on the Friday night we were there(it was a bit after 8pm when we arrived). This really made it different than any pub I’ve ever been to and got everyone participating. Highly recommended to try out on a Friday night.

I was here with my fellow Unilocaler, T Spot(whose review has been flagged even though she was right on point), and her review pretty much sums up our«experience» at Frankie’s. The place was nice, pretty even, with the new patio… but just like Pineby F. argues, but that’s the only compliment I can give it honestly. I’m a mad foodie, and I don’t usually comment on the service in a restaurant, unless its egregious… and this place might have been the worst I have experienced in a while. Most servers I believe do their best, and while they may be ignorant at times, or too busy, they often mean well. I often let the little things slide. In this case, I felt like Wayne Brady on the Chapelle show… does this Unilocaler have to choke a b*&c$? Our server looked like a lady, but acted like a catty brat, and was so very nonchalant about our needs. Ordering took forever and she rolled her eyes at us constantly and looked put out from the get go. She gave us a lecture about the need for tartar sauce, and charged us a 1.50 to add it to the fish and chips(it comes with none). After my order was wrong and she came out with my fries 40 minutes after my main had arrived, I asked her to take it off the bill as we were done eating. She refused and told me it was my dessert… wow…and wait folks, there’s more… that she knew how delicious they were and suggested she had sampled mine…*&%^! Ive never had such an anger invoking experience. As my co-yelper Tspot already dished about the awfulness of the food, I won’t revisit the issues, but anytime you mix fruit jam and kraft mayo and call it an «aioli“meant as a seafood dip, your restaurant needs a serious shake up in the kitchen. Ill close with: Frankie G’s.I hate you. I hate you. I don’t even know you, and I hate your guts. I hope all the bad things in life happen to you and nobody else but you! 2⁄30 for 30 awesome days of Unilocal

I used to come to Frankie G’s for some delicious nachos, decently priced drinks, and good wait staff. I hadn’t been in a few years, and recently decided to head down there after talking it up to a friend. What a disappointment. I don’t even know where to begin. Our appetizer was disgusting, we ordered calamari, which arrived completely flavorless, and even our sad attempts to spice up the dish with some salt and pepper were completely in vain. This dish didn’t even come with a slice of lemon, and their«red currant aioli» was red current jelly, mixed with mayo, which made for an atrocious pink/grey goo that was less than appetizing on calamari. For the first time in a very, very, very long time, we opted to send the calamari back to the kitchen, and the waitress was ‘sweet’ enough to take the $ 10 appie off our bill. We had only a few bites, so really, it was the least she could do. Which is when she decided to treat the rest of our dining experience the same way — essentially doing the least she could possibly do. I ordered the special, which happened to be a Rickards Red battered halibut, and my friend got a burger and yam fries. My fish arrived, sans tartar sauce, and when I asked the server about it, I was informed it doesn’t come with the fish… seriously? Fried, battered fish, and no tartar sauce? She brought me out some, which did little to save the soggy lump of ‘fish’ in front of me. The batter was disgusting, and my fish literally exploded with grease when I broke into it with my fork. My friend’s meal was an even greater disaster — when her order arrived with regular fries instead of the yam fries she’d asked for, the waitress swept up her plate in a huff and we didn’t see her for another 25 minutes. It was only once I was done my meal, and her burger was consumed in it’s entirety, that my friend’s yam fries arrived, with a catty remark from our server that our ‘dessert had arrived.’ Not funny. When our billed arrived, I was surprised — not only had they charged me a dollar for my tartar sauce(which I don’t give a damn what you say, tartar sauce should ALWAYS be included with fish and chips), but they also had the nerve to charge my friend the full four dollar charge for swapping her regular fries for yam fries. Even though they arrived well after our meals were finished. When I pointed this out to our server, her response was, word-for-word«Well, the yam fries are usually four dollars, but I only charged you $ 3.98. So you actually saved two cents, and the yam fries were really good.» Next time I want shitty food and Costco yam fries, I’ll save myself the cash and make it at home. Maybe I’ll invite over my bitchy neighbour, just to make sure I can fully replicate the«Frankie G’s experience.» Needless to say, they will definitely never get my business again.

Great atmosphere, if only the food would match. My Caesar salad was sauce, powdered Parmesan, with a side of romaine. Friends commonly complained about meat being dry on their beef/chicken burgers and Philly cheesesteaks. Calamari was well fried, crispy exterior with tender meat, but over salted with am odd tasting mayo. This would be a one star if not for the very pleasant location and patio. But who knows, maybe I just came here on a bad day.

Comfortable, relaxing, and an interesting addition to Queensborough. The food is good and reasonably priced and the drinks are plentiful. Try the Tropical Hallucination martini. The ingredients are a secret, but its delicious!!!

I haven’t been here for a while but I think this is a great place to go for some food and may a couple drinks. It’s a comfortable place to settle in for a few or a meal, everything tastes great and the servers are fantastic. I recommend checking this place out!
