Should be renamed to the basement or something. This place has been around for years and probably hasn’t been renovated once. Feels and smells like a basement. Has a pool table, cheap food, decent drinks. That’s about it really. Saw people walking in and out which is what me and my friend essentially did. Seemed like more of a local crowd. Not sure if I’d try it again. Maybe as a last resort one day in new west.

We had a sub par experience when we went a few weeks ago. The staff was friendly, but the food and beer was disappointing to say the least. The beer they served us was the worst draught beer I’ve ever had. We couldn’t even finish it. It was totally flat and tasted funky, like it was poured from an extremely dirty tap and line. My sandwich was okay, but definitely did not make up for the gross beer. My boyfriend’s steak sandwich was rubbery and grisly and barely edible. Stick to bottled beer at this place, and order carefully. We will not be back.

Cheap drinks. Cheap burgers. Divey décor. Can’t really go wrong with this place if cheap and divey is your cuppa tea. THEYHAVEOLDMILWAUKEEONDRAFT! I know people have said the food here is iffy but honestly I’ve never had bad food here. Have I mentioned the food is cheap and so is the beer? Cheap drinks! Cheap food! Great for a cheapo!

Cheap drinks. Really cheap drinks. I wouldn’t order food here because I’ve had bad experiences with my food here(cold, over cooked, takes too long, etc). They have a pool table and a few tv’s, a lot of people go there for their wings special. There’s also a bowling alert attached to this restaurant that offers 5 and 10 pin lanes.

Came here on a random Thursday because of a friends invite out for wings. O boy was I surprised. Wings night here is amazingly cheap. Managed to grab a beer and 30 wings for just around $ 20. I have never had that many wings by myself and felt like I really wanted more because of how good the food was compared to the price. Parking here is great since they have a large lot, staff is friendly, and they pretty much have everything you want in a neighborhood pub. Pool tables, several tvs, and even a fricking bowling alley downstairs. what more is there to ask for?!

Cheap booze and yummy appies keep me coming back here, I love the mushroom caps. Every time I’ve been here I’ve had the same sweet server, she’s kind and friendly and strikes me as someone who would be ready to break a few bones if one of the older regulars decided to get handsy with me or my girlfriends. Half price appies on Monday and great drink specials most other days. It’s a block away from my bestie’s house so it’s one of our go-to spots. I’ve heard people call it «sketchy» but I’ve never gone there and felt unsafe, even by myself. The Thirsty Duck is my choice for drinking in New West.

It’s a decent neighborhood pub. The beer is decent, and there is a lot of parking. I had the burger special and it was ok. I came up here after bowling, so the good thing is, it’s always upstairs and a convenient spot to chill after a game with the friends.

One of the go-to places for having a drink in New West, if you don’t mind going up the hill. Parking is available on the side streets. The interior is a bit narrow, but they have pool table, and a couple of TVs for watching the game. This establishment is a neighbourhood pub indeed. I didn’t have the $ 6 burger and beer combo, but my friends did. Just by looking at it(and discussing with my friends), the burger is definitely on the small side. I would say it is smaller than a McDonald’s hamburger. The patty is smaller than the bun. My friends said it tasted fine though, if you can overlook the small patty. I tried the fries and they were decent and crisp.

My classmates and I came here all summer. It was cheap for us students, good quality eats and decent service. There’s one waitress who’s super nice everytime we go and another who absolutely hates serving us. Not really sure why since without us she wouldn’t be getting any customers at certain times. Wings are cheap and have a great selection of flavours. I think about $ 4.50 for lb. I love the lemon pepper or honey garlic wings. Usually they are a pretty decent size. Very large plate of fries, delicious crab poppers, good burgers and there’s always daily food/drink specials on top of the happy hour discount. The place is very clean and has a pool table, lottery tickets and a juke box to keep you entertained. They were also very accomadating when we had a large rowdy birthday party there or when we stayed till they needed to kick us out. also who doesn’t like free parking in the back! We’re addicted to this place now. It’s our regular meet up place in NW.

Not bad, not bad at all. I prefer«dive bars» to a night club any day, but to be honest The Thirsty Duck isn’t really a dive bar in my eyes. Perhaps because the floor was kind of clean, bathroom stalls had doors on them and the creepy old dudes just stared from afar rather than trying to drunkenly talk to me. The place was really dead for a Saturday night, which was kind of nice. Service was quick and friendly and I think I only spent about $ 40 getting way more drunk than I should have. I’d come back here.

Just an average pub. Nothing special about the food and the service is pretty slow. Went there on Wednesday wings. Wings were quite disappointing– really small and not that flavourful… I wouldn’t be going back :/

We used to frequent this place quite a bit, but it has gone downhill. Do not order the drink specials! The guys ordered the bear on tap special and all agreed it was horrible, and the rest of the group decided high balls would be safe. Over priced pop with a server with the worst attitude I have ever seen in my life at any establishment. Ordered the poutine, and I have had better food on ferries and in airports.

Newly renovated, the bones are the same but its been spruced up a bit. Wings are good, drinks are reasonably priced. The duck is a great place if you’re in the neighborhood looking for a low key place to have a drink.

Best service I’ve had from a pub. The food was fantastic, the drinks fairly priced, and they had pool! The waitress was the best I’ve had in my life, with no exaggeration. She had a great sense of humor, was punctual, pointed out the best deals, and was very personable. I wish I could remember her name. She made my vacation to Vancouver much more memorable, and I will definitely be returning the next time I am up north.

Definitely a dive bar. The place isn’t the cleanest. The beer is cold and the best way you can describe the food specials is «ya get what you pay for» The $ 5.95 Sunday steak special is a joke! I don’t know why they ask you how you want your steak done because it is impossible to cook med rare when you steak is less than a quarter inch thick. The ceasar salad was hotter than the steak and if you want«the works» on your overcooked, three day old baked potatoe it costs you $ 1.95 for a very small amount of sour cream, a couple of bacon bits and a little bit of chives. Will not be going back.

This is your quintessential dive bar. The beer is cheap, and cold, the food isn’t bad but the portions are good. The wait staff seems to suffer from ADD, but it adds to the charm of the place. Like all dive bar there are a few regulars that go there. Next time see if you can spot Indian Jay Leno.

It’s great to know that you can still live on a small budget. That’s what the Thirsty Duck was made for. There are amazing drink specials and one hearty meal special everyday. $ 3.45 for a Ceaser on Sundays. Sold! On the weekend you will find lots of young people and during the week more regulars or sketch cases. Either way it’s great for people watching. This is not a fancy pub but it does have a certain something. And, once again, so cheap!!!

This place can be a good bit of fun, and I think that the juke box adds significantly to the fun. Its in a central location in New Westminster, with a parking lot out back. I think this is great place for a night out with friends when you don’t want to be yelling to hear eachother; I think its an ideal place for an after work drink or a to have a laid back night. The lay out is interesting and the service is great, it feels like a friendly local.
