Been going there for years now and Mega thrift shop next door. both are great places to shop! some have reviewed said prices are high, but I find them reasonable! always have had great service. they mostly volunteers there and they there cause they care about animals and helping people. so when you buy there be happy and think you helping animals out too! when I go there it like a 3 place destination. across the road donairs and this side 2 great thrift stores. both of which are local and doing something positive. GF loves to buy books here and then return them for donation. We love it here. great deals and never know what you’ll find!

Our first review of the SPCATHRIFTSTORE wasn’t so great, so today we tried it again and had a totally different experience. We got some great deals and finds for Christmas… like 2 ceramic houses for our Christmas Village… at 20% off their already low prices. There is always something that catches your eye, as they have lots of stuff both inside and outside the shop. Clean, organized but there are all sorts of nooks & crannies where some of the best bargains are hiding. Make sure you check out the entire store!

Always helpful and hard-working. I have donated to this store, and I’ve purchased items from them. The people are very diligent. I had a couch that I was donating to them. It was a large piece of furniture and it fit into the elevator in my building five years ago when I moved in, but then it didn’t, likely due to new tile on the elevator’s floor. But to make a long story short, the SPCA delivery guys tried multiple times to get the couch into the elevator, but it didn’t fit anymore. So they hauled it down three flights of stairs! That’s awesome! They had every right to refuse the donation, but they knew it was a good couch and didn’t want to give up. That donation gave me a gut-level sense of how dedicated they are.(In other words, don’t believe complainers like Rooey B. These people at SPCA New West are good, decent people, who try their hardest to make it work.)

The prices are through the roof! Expensive! And the smell is very off putting, I went there twice but will not go back. Sad cuz it’s such a worthy cause.

I donate here frequently. I don’t appreciate the way that they pick and choose which items to accept, it’s not like I EVER try to pawn off junk on them. They tried to not take a chair because it was slightly broken. It just needed a nail and it was totally sellable — I pointed this out and they took it(it was part of a set of 3 others that they were perfectly willing to take). Kinda makes you feel like your donations aren’t appreciated. I continue to donate here because I love animals, but if it were anywhere else I would have told them to get lost by now.

Who doesn’t like helping the animals of the SPCA and this is a way to do it and get any retail therapy needs out. I also like to donate items that are sellable here. I have found some cute outfits, books, bags and the like here. There’s also the resident kitty who is in it’s 20s. I haven’t been up in a couple of months so I am not sure if the kitty is still alive but it’s darn cute. Blind but cute. The staff here are always kind and ready to help.
