SN Hobbies

Our first transaction at this hobby shop — and our last.
My 10 year old nephews bought a pair of Horizon RC cars here with $ 50 each of their birthday money: The Beatbox Monster Truck and the KickFlip Buggy.
Both cars stopped working less than a week after purchase, due to faults in the gears and suspension, respectively. We phoned SN Hobbies and were told to «bring them in» for a return. We gathered all of the pieces and boxed them up, ready to go. When we did get a free day and took them in yesterday, admittedly a few weeks later, we were told that the cars could not be returned, as they were «used merchandise».
When asked how they could both simply stop working within the week, the salesclerk laughed at the boys and said «What do you expect for that price?».
We had considered treating this as a life-​lesson in avoiding cut rate products and bad customer service, but the boys had researched the cars they wanted and feel ripped off. They still hope to eventually return the cars, but failing that, they want other kids to know about this place to avoid similar situations in future.

Really cool hobby shop in the New West Area. The last time I was in the area they were closed as with most shops in the hood, however, came back a few days later. It’s been a while since I’ve done anything DIY hobby style but this place kinda influenced me to seriously consider going back into the hobby. Great customer service and awesome people to deal with.
