East Side Mario’s Niagara Falls

Wow I can’t believe the prices for an average bowl of pasta and soup.
Two of my friends wanted to split a pasta dish because they wanted dessert. They ordered the pasta and the «unlimited» salad, but were told that they weren’t allowed to share it and would be charged $ 6.99 if they did. They weren’t even getting multiple bowls of salad. They wanted to share one bowl! How can they be double charged for one bowl of pasta that comes with the meal??? I can understand if they asked for 2+ bowls of salad, but they were basically told they would have to pay twice for one plate of food if they wanted to share.

Also, It seemed that there were more staff than tables yet the service was still slow.

I would give this place 1.5 stars. The service was excellent, our server Stephanie was very attentive and efficient.
I ordered a pasta dish, it was slightly overcooked and the taste was ok, but nothing to write home about.
My partner ordered a burger, which ended up being two frozen patties like the ones you can find in the supermarket; he didn’t even finish it which is saying something.
I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for good italian food but if you’re in the area and need a quick lunch or dinner this place will be fine (not great, but fine.) Just stick to the pizzas or pastas…

The food tasted decent, but was pricey (as are most places around the Falls). My wife and I spent $ 35 for lunch and all we got were sandwiches and water to drink.
Service was poor. It took 5 minutes before someone saw us standing at the door before they seated us and at least 15 minutes after we were done eating before anyone came over to give us the bill.

Horrible experience. The food was subpar. Management doesn’t care and the only saving grace was the server who was trying to do her job and managements. I will never return!

About as good as Olive Garden. Like most other places in Niagara Falls, the menu is LOADED with heavy, greasy food. There were 2 salad options for a meal. Our waiter was nice but kept forgetting things. The best part of the meal was my 6 year old’s Gelato that came with his meal.

If you like East Side Mario’s, this is the best one I’ve been to. The location made me suspicious, but they came through.

Nice Italian place in the Niagara area — good food and good prices in a relatively tourist trap of a town. Food came in large portions and the wait staff is really friendly. It was a good place to stop and eat at, I recommend.

The food was OK. It’s almost all tourist that come here so the don’t expect to get a lot of local-​return customers. The wait staff were very friendly. The prices are higher than they should be.

Eine Pizzeria mit Namen. Eine große Kette. Größer als Pizza hut. Zuerst mal der Service: man wird schnell bedient! Also keine Sorge. Die Bedienung die wir hatten war sehr gut! Freundlich, Entgegenkommen, kompetent. Die Bedienung wird so gesehen zugeteilt, so dass jeder Gast einen Bediener hatte an die man sich wenden kann.
Essen: Ansich war alles ok. Aber zu der Pizza Hawaii hätte man meiner Meinung nach entweder weniger Bacon oder gar weglassen können. War doch etwas versalzen durch das Bacon. Die Pasta war auch ok. Etwas weniger Pfeffer wäre gut. Dann wäre es richtig fruchtig gewesen. Die Minestrone war wirklich gut. Findet man leider nicht überall!
Gewürze gab es natürlich auch. Es gab 2 Arten von Pfeffer am Tisch: eine die ganz normal gerieben ist, aber noch verfeinert wurde mit Oregano. Das andere Glas eine normale Pfeffer Mühle. Grobe Pfefferkörner.
Preis liegt so im Mittelfeld. Kann ich wirklich empfehlen! Wenn ihr mal an den Niagarafällen seid und Hunger habt: vergesst die normalen Sachen! Gönnt eurem Hunger was richtiges!

Better than Olive Garden! For $ 20 per person we both got a dinner plus unlimited salad and bread. We got Caesar salad and it was great! The bread is tasty as well. I ordered a personal pizza and loved it. My fiancé ordered sausage and peppers with penne and loved the flavor! Our waiter was attentive, friendly and kind. I’d definitely stop in again!

This place is like a cheap Olive Garden or an Italian Friday’s. The food was meh at best and the pizza is more Chicago style than New York. What kind of Italian place doesn’t have plain red wine or balsamic vinegar?
Service was fine, although they get fed up when you ask too many questions.
The prices are really high for the quality of food you get.

Casino food, fast, easy, inexpensive. Great for your budget. One step up from Pizza Hut.

Food is comparable to a lower class Olive Garden but it’s good. Ceasar salad was delish. Our waiter was awesome, great attitude and personality name was chuck I believe. Also we got our food very quickly, will return.

Although not authentic, the lasagna appetizer is good. Pizza is tasty with a good sauce, decent cheese. Dough is very flavorful, but could have stayed in the oven just a bit longer. Anthony, our server was great. Poor beer and wine list. Not New York pizza, but it’ll do in a pinch.

Absolutely terrible food and service. Avoid at all costs. Doesnt even deserve a full review. Again, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Ended up here by default. It was close to closing for all the restaurants in the area, and we didn’t feel like straying far from the hotel. Based on the review I was not expecting a great experience just needed to eat something. I was surprised however by the food, definitely a lot better than I prepared my self for. The garlic bread they served was delish, their blue cheese dressing was delish, and so was the cappelletti. Standard chain Italian restaurant food, not your authentic style local restaurant kind of place. Reminds me a lot of Bucca di Beppo. Food was good enough, but definitely not the best meal of your life.

I went in with my girlfriend on a Wednesday night around 9:30 pm. The waiter (little skinny hyper guy in his 30’s) told us we could only order bar food and no dine-​in since kitchen was closed. It was very dissappointing and sad. He said that right in front of his manager. No wonder the reviews are soo bad. The weak management is making such a great restaurant suffer financially. Would not recommend visiting this place.

We ordered take-​out. Baked penne with garden salad, a pizza, and bruschetta. We asked approximately how long it would be and the waiter just shrugged, extremely rude, and was like «I don’t know». Rude, impolite… okay. The waiter behind her clearly felt embarrassed that the first waiter was so impolite and he told us 20 – 25 minutes. Thank you!
We took the food back to our hotel room.
1. Baked penne — disgusting. We threw it out. I don’t know what they did wrong but it seemed like it was slightly under cooked or something, I don’t even know.
2. Garden salad — they just forgot to give it to us. Thanks.
3. Pizza — actually very delicious
4. Bruschetta — disgusting again. Whatever sauce they used was disgusting. Had to throw it out too.
Basically, we had one good item, two were terrible, and they just didn’t give us one of them.
Also extremely overpriced for the quality of food.
Anyway, even though this was a last resort because there weren’t many places with veg options, I would never go back!

Great service and good food. Our waiter was awesome and more than willing to give us advice on things to do in the area and offer more bread! Food was hot and fresh.

Chad was our server and he took fantastic care of us! The good was very good, service was great, and location was casual and comfortable.

Was a little hesitant after reading some negative reviews. Great service. Great food. For the falls, good value.
We had the Calamari as an appetizer and Alec had Caesar Salad and chicken fingers kids meal. Helen and I had garden salads (love their dressing), Helen had 16 layer Lasagna and I tried the Scallop Carbonara.
It’s been a while since we’ve eaten at East Side Mario’s. Very impressed with everything
Servings were so large there was no room to try their desserts.
