It is the best Vietnam cuisine I have ever tried! The service is amazing! I would recommend the crab and the shrimp roll. But the mango sticky rice isn’t as good as what I thought. It is a little hard to chew

Authentic Vietnamese food, perfect for a cold day. Calamari is to die for. Very unique. Highly recommended. Our waitress, V, walked us through the menu and the Niagara region. Extremely helpful recommendations for food and sightseeing. Check in with her for wine tours, she is well connected and can set you up!

This is a very authentic viet phở restaurant. From the looks of it, this is definitely family run operation. The restaurant is a very good size big enough to cater a family of 10 or more and all they need to do is put the table together! The interior is very clean and looks welcoming. Our dishes were super yummy! My beef phở didn’t lack any flavor at all and the grilled pork with xyclo sausages and they also come with delicious spring rolls! And the best of all Durian shake. It did not lack any flavor and smell from durian. It was well made and they were not shy on the ingredients. How it should be for a durian shake! I recommend coming here for lunch or dinner that serves real food and skip the tourist eateries.

I decided on this place when visiting the Falls over Christmas break because of the location. It was closer to downtown than other phở places. Ordered the Bun Bo Hue(duh), Phở(L) & taro bubble tea. Taro tasted like powder added purple-ish color, & the tapioca was so uncooked it started to harden quickly in the cup. I was practically chewing on ice, bubble tea powder & tapioca powder. Colourful menu & clean place — promising. Friendly & efficient staff — bonus star. But when the food came out it all went downhill. Our 2 bowls of soup tasted nothing like what it should be(complex, flavourful, beefy, etc). It tasted like msg & disappointment.

Phở is one of my favourite foods, and I’ve eaten a lot of phở at a lot of places. This place makes mediocre phở at best. For their namesake dish, they need to make some improvements. Not only did they get my order wrong(I ordered the house phở. Unsure how their main specialty is mistaken.), they seem to have the strategy of adding enough salt into their soup to mask all other flavours. Things going for them: Really large portions — their large would have fed a small family of 3 Good prices Fast service

Great find in Niagara. Surprising to find some quality Vietnamese food here amongst a bunch of overpriced franchise restaurants. Had a party of 7 who are no strangers to Vietnamese food. Everyone was satisfied. Service was quick and food was delicious. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Niagara.

Best phở I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. Those are my boyfriends words, he has tried a lot of phở and said this was the best he ever had, that is saying something. Nice friendly staff, clean place, they know the locals my name and greet them with a smile. My calamari and wings were great as was the coffee, reasonably priced, what else could you ask for.

Excellent Vietnamese food with a Chinese influence We had the veggie phở, well done steak phở, satay fried rice and spring rolls My family enjoyed their meal Located about a 4 – 5 min drive from Fallsview. Very clean, nice interior. Service is excellent with everyone checking on you. Good place to take kids.

Fantastic. Best phở I’ve ever had, and I’m from California(tons of Vietnamese restaurants). First night I got the Seafood Phở and it was delicious. Great broth and tons of crab, calamari, fish balls and shrimp. The medium was plenty. I came back a second time for the Special phở with rare beef, well done flank and beef balls. The broth was also very good and I loved that they give a solid serving of noodles. I also got the black sticky rice with mango and it was perfect. Warm and sweet with yummy fresh mango. I HIGHLY recommend you get the chili oil for your soup. They make it here and it’s garlicky and smokey and not too hot. I even bought some to take home(big jar for $ 5!) Perfect for the phở. All in all, my favorite phở. Too bad it’s 2,500 miles away!

Good lord! Not sure if it’s the refuge from the Canadian cold, but the Phở Ga here is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Good beefy taste to the broth that isn’t overwhelming, fresh thin cut slices and beef balls swimming in the soup. MMMMMMM. Along with my phở régime, I ordered a cup of iced Vietnamese coffee. Great aroma, nice strong and smooth coffee. The girlfriend had the veggie bowl, which she really enjoyed, though she could not finish… for shame. Can’t wait to eat here again the next time I’m by the Falls.

Excellent Phở Ga — steaming hot and fresh. U.S. travelers either use your credit cards or pay via Canadian dollars — they were only accepting U.S. currency in a 1:1 ratio, when I protested they offered me a 1:1.1 ratio but the actual conversion rate is 1:1.33(I ended up regretting paying cash). Solid food, Good value for money — just keep the exchange rate snafu in mind and you should be A-ok.

While vacationing on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, we did a LOT of nature exploring and managed to do a little food exploring too. We decided to drive just a few short blocks from our hotel to try a Mediterranean restaurant recommendation given to us by our hotel valet guy. As we were waiting to be seated, my youngest son spotted Phở Xyclo across the street. Immediately our plans changed and we all decided to eat less of a meal at the current restaurant so we could save room for a little phở afterwards. PhoXyclo is located in a strip mall, but the interior is pleasant and bright. Service was quick and welcoming. We ordered two bowls of phở to share and crispy calamari at the urging of a nearby table who had the same zeal for food. They even had the server split their mango stick rice because they wanted us to try it. OMG, it was delicious! So we ordered one for the table and one to go! THEFOOD The Phở here is DIVINE. It was actually better than my favorite places back in Atlanta. The broth had a slight sweetness to it and later I learned they use cinnamon in the broth. Maybe cinnamon is a main ingredient in all phở, but it was more apparent here than any other time I’ve had it and it was wonderful. I just may start bringing cinnamon with me when I eat at Vietnamese restaurants. So good!(5++ stars) The Crispy Calamari was not crispy at all. I would rank it about average on the flavor meter but would have prefered it to actually be crispy.(3 stars) The Shrimp Fried Rice was awesome! The shrimp were huge and rice perfectly cooked.(3.75 stars) Mango sticky rice is orgasmic. No star rating would do it justice! FINALTHOUGHTS While waiting in line for an elevator @ White Water Walk the following day we were engaged in conversation with a sweet family with two adopted little girls. We told the family about our great phở experience with such vigor that two other families waiting to take the elevator back up to street level asked for details to the location of the restaurant. We spent another couple of hours exploring things to do along the Niagara River Parkway and decided to come back for a second visit just to have another go at the warm mango sticky rice. It really is that amazing and bonus, one of the tourist families we told about Phở Xyclo was there eating. They couldn’t stop thanking us for the recommendation and I believe you will feel the same. So let me just say in advance… you’re welcome!

This was our first time at Phở Xyclo and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the service was friendly and prompt. We weren’t quite sure what to expect as Niagara Falls isn’t really known for its Vietnamese food, but the quality was definitely good. However, there were a few items that are common on Vietnamese menus that were missing. Rice dishes on Viet. menus generally include at least a few choices with steamed egg and this wasn’t an option. There were also no phở dishes that included either tendon or tripe. We’re not sure if this is because these items are more difficult to obtain in this area or if they just wouldn’t go over well with the clientele. I ordered a vermicelli dish which was very good and plentiful although I was extremely surprised that there were no fresh bean sprouts included. There were, however lots of other vegetables and everything was fresh and crisp. My husband ordered rice with grilled chicken and a fried egg(cost extra). The chicken was cooked perfectly and the egg was exactly as he likes it(sunny side up and runny). The prices were a bit on the high side compared to what we pay in Mississauga for Vietnamese food, but that’s what we’ve come to expect in a tourist area. I think our dishes were $ 11 each plus taxes. The interior of the restaurant was clean, bright and spacious. The washrooms were also clean.

To get down to it: Cons: Phở is very average. The portions are smaller than basically every other phở restaurants and the soup was very bland Pros: Owners are friendly Restaurant seems clean Only phở restaurant in Niagara that I know of, so I guess they’re basically a monopoly. But overall … meh.

After eating at one of our hotel’s restaurant, we decided to take a drive somewhere different that doesn’t cater to tourists. Looked on Unilocal and found this place and the food pix looked awesome enough to try them out. It’s located only 4 minutes from our hotel which was great. We got there about an hour before closing and they were empty, except for on table that was almost through with their meal. We sat and a few moments later, we’re greeted by a very nice woman who brought us some hot tea. A little whole later, an equally pleasant gentleman came to our table and took out order. We started with their Fresh Shrimp Rolls. These are not fried and are wrapped in the soft rice wrappers. They were exceptionally fresh and obviously made with great care. I had the Singapore Noodles with shrimp, only, and my hubby had the Beef Fried Rice. The food was excellent. I always love to get a good order of Singapore Noodles but hubby’s Fried Rice was better than good. It definitely had that Vietnamese flavor of citrus and complimentary spices. Quite possibly, the best fried rice I’ve tasted in a long time, if ever. The staff is super friendly and we left with treats given to us, along with our bill. I may have to stop by on the drive back to the states with some take out… believe me, I’m serious. Our experience here if proof that you find better when you explore and get away from the tourist attractions, where you’re not gouged by the insane prices of everything.
