Free skate Monday! It’s been a few weeks since we went skating, but I loved it and looking forward to next season.

OMG I love this place! Headed here on a Friday night after reading about it online. Basically, it’s a small skating rink set up about 20 meters back of the lookout points to the falls. You can skate a round and actually see most of Niagara Falls in all it’s glory. It’s not super cheap, but let’s face it — it’s Niagara Falls and nothing is cheap here. We paid about $ 8 each for admission. Skate rentals were extra if you didn’t bring your own. Parking is free after 3pm for Ontario residents, otherwise I think it’s about $ 5-$ 10 depending on the time. They had a DJ playing loud music, a really fun mix of oldies and some newer stuff. If you’re lucky enough to go on a Friday night, there are fireworks over the Falls at 9pm and you get a great view from the rink. The ice was well maintained and the zamboni cleans everything up every 2 hours or so. My only minor complaint is the rink is fairly small and slightly overcrowded. Super romantic!

Did you know there’s an Ice Skating Rink that over looks the falls?!? It was quite nice and a nice diversion from the usual walk around the edge. A small rink, and you can rest on the ledge and take a look at the falls. My only complaint is the price and the rink itself if quite small. The only thing is that you’re kind of forced to park in the lot(if you have a caR) or walk with your skates from your hotel via Clifton Hill(is there another way to get down on the West side, aside from the broken Funicular?). You can also rent skates($ 4) — hockey skates only If you park, it’s $ 9(flat rate) in the lot, so make the most of it! The admission to the rink is $ 8 a person. Yes this is steep, but if you’re here, must be a special occasion anyway. I guess our rinks are free because they are tax subsidized from the city of Toronto. So, Niagara residents gets $ 5 for parking, and free skating — just show your ID. They have friendly staff, and they work hard to maintain the rink — I appreciate at that. I also learnt that sharpened skates make a HUGE difference. $ 5 on site.
