After reading rave reviews by previous customers, we decided to try this restaurant. First of all, there was no available parking spots as the restaurant provided limited spaces. It was also very difficult to get out as it was a very tightly spaced lot. On a positive note, we didn’t make any reservations but was seated immediately at the back of the restaurant. It had a very homely feel to the restaurant setting,(especially because of the electronic fireplace in the room). The menu was very short. We opted for a smaller meal as we weren’t very famished at the time. My partner and I decided to order their syndicate Caesar salad. It was very savory –some may argue too savory — as they mixed a thick Caesar dressing into the salad. The salad I would rate a 7.5÷10(for presentation & taste). For our main dish, I ordered the duck poutine(as it was mentioned several times by reviewers to be good). However I was very disappointed by how salty it was. The fries were slathered in gravy and cheese curds, making the meal too salty to eat. I had to switch with my partner to get a break from the saltiness. The duck poutine I would rate a disppointing 3⁄10. My partner ordered the syndicate burger with a side of fries. He had asked the server for no mayo in his burger, but he was brought one with it. Fortunately he liked the home-cooked fries and was able to fill up his stomach with that. I took a few bites out of his burger but wasn’t able to finish it. The burger was very imbalanced, the bun was too hard, the beef patty was too large and not very savory. It had some lettuce and caramelized onions but it did not save the taste of the burger. Overall rating for this burger is 5.5÷10. My partner and I left agreeing to never come back again. This was a very poor first experience at this restaurant. Hopefully they will step up in the future!(Less salt please!!)

Excellent service. The restaurant is co-located with a mini-brewery, so the smell of hops and yeast permeates the air. It’s pleasant. We ordered the three-course prix fix dinner. my wife had the rack of lamb and I had a strip steak over risotto. both were excellent. Both of our desserts were exceptional and could easily have been the high point of the meal. The crème brûlée was authentic– creamy custard topped with a perfectly flambayed crust(we’ve eaten it in Tahiti, where they grow vanilla beans, and in France … where I think they INVENTED it). Overall a great value for an excellent meal. I don’t recommend the Ceasar’s salad, it stood out as not up to the standards of the other dishes. Served with bacon or pancetta in lieu of anchovy, the croutons were huge and brittle and the dressing lacked flavor

I had a curry chickpea dish that was amazing. For $ 22 it came with a delicious baked goat cheese and beet salad and a dessert! Excellent prices, great food and the service was perfect!

Absolutely blown away by this restaurant! A must if you are in Niagara Falls and you’re not into the big chain places. We arrived with no reservations and were sat right away in the front. Our server was also tending bar but that in no way hindered her attentiveness. She was awesome the whole time and a pleasure to be served by. We had the tasting menu and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and portion size for the low price. I had the pear and blue cheese salad, risotto and flourless cake. My boyfriend had Caesar salad, pork trio and crème brûlée. Salads were great, mains were completely out of this world and desserts were a good end to an incredible meal. The pork trio was unbelievably HUGE! I couldn’t even believe how big the portion was. My boyfriend is a big eater and couldn’t finish so we bagged it for later. Same for me with the risotto. We had a few craft brews, I loved the wheat beer and he loved his lager. Great start to a night out on the town. When the cheque came I literally exclaimed(in my slight drunkenness) at how cheap it was. Under $ 70 for three full pints and two tasting menus. You honestly cannot beat that. And it was just so good! They even discounted the beers and charged us for a growler because we had 3 pints. Saved us a few bucks which was awesome. All in all I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to any foodies out there who are visiting Niagara. Also – hot tip – it’s right at the Dorchester stop on the red line of the wego system. Enjoy!

Love it! The food was so good and great quality. Blue cheese salad, surf and turf ravioli which was home made and crème brule for dessert. Everything i ordered was fantastic! Service was really good as well. Also they kept the boston and montreal game on for the whole time for us, so worth it!!! Lovely place good experience.

What an awesome place! Came here for a girlfriend’s birthday dinner and it was fantastic. We were staying in Niagara for the weekend to do some wine tours. When we mentioned that we were having dinner at the Syndicate to the various wine tour associates we were told it was a very solid choice. You know a place is good when the locals are hyping up a restaurant. We all got the prix fixe menu with the duck poutine to start. The poutine was a tad too salty and the fries were a bit soggy but it was still good. I got the caesar salad to start. It was a good basic salad with croutons and some crumbled bacon. The portion was huge though. As we were all starving and service was a little slow it was very welcome. I got the steak frites as my main. I requested medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the pappardelle, which was a little bland unfortunately. But it was nothing a little salt couldn’t fix. Lastly we all got the vanilla bean crème brûlée to finish — deeeelish! The portions are great! Definitely lots of bang for your buck. We were all stuffed! The atmosphere is casual so you don’t have to dress up but it’s still nice enough to celebrate a special occasion. The table next to us was celebrating a bachelorette party. I also have to mention our waitress who was super nice. Even though service was slow we didn’t mind because she was such a pleasure to chat with. I can’t remember her name off the top of my head but she had short hair and was very fit… I remember because she told she had 5 kids and we were all shocked and impressed haha. I’ll be back next time I’m in Niagara!

This place is excellent! Would be 5 stars but service was kinda slow. The 3 course dinner is the way to go with your pint of their own brewed beer(IMO get their brew not something you’ve already had) I had the pear and walnut salad, pork trio, and chocolate cake. Everything was so tasty but the pork was out of this world. Big pork chop, stuffed with bacon and a huge slice of pork belly on top. So so good, and such a great price considering everything else in the area.

Came here on vacation and ordered the Prix Fixe menu and tonight’s special was mushroom soup and prime rib. Nothing was short of amazing. Location is a bit farther from the falls but you can easily get there using the Wego system. The food, service, and local craft beers were all great and far cheaper than what you can find near the Falls. Definitely worth the trip!

Again, we were«stranded» without data and we asked the locals where to go and they suggested Syndicate. The stipulations were: not a chain, somewhere you would want to go, somewhere I would have to drive to(we had a rental car) I was told this was a farm to table restaurant and was not disappointed. All three of us ordered a 3 course meal starting at $ 22 and boy it was worth every penny and was so inexpensive! I got the beef, mom got the pasta, and the sister got some fish. Mom and I opted to split our meat and pasta dish so we were able to try both — while we allowed the sis to have her fish to herself(we do not like fish). The meal started off with each of us getting a salad. Then the beer flight came(we tried all that were available for the flight). Our main meal came out as soon as our salads were finished, and then we were able to wash everything down with delicious desserts– which we split three ways. The whole meal(with tip) came down to about $ 100(American) which is a BARGAIN for what we paid for all the food we got. I would highly suggest you coming here if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Niagara Falls.

I visited here with my grandma and our family friend during a vacation to Niagara Falls, on the recommendation of a tour guide. I can honestly say this was, by far, the best meal we ate during our entire vacation, including during our stays in Toronto and Montréal. I live in Chicago and have been to some of the best restaurants we have to offer here, and I can say without hesitation that the food at Syndicate stands right with all of them. The décor is fancy but comfortable. We weren’t dressed up super nicely but yet we didn’t feel out of place. The server, I believe his name was Nick, was very nice and attentive. The manager, Leland, also came up to ask how our meal was and to chat for a few minutes. I saw him making constant rounds in the restaurant, checking on people. The food was AMAZING. Three course dinner with salad, main course and dessert. We all three ordered different things and we all loved what we got. It was the kind of food that makes you sad when you take your last bite. I can’t imagine where the negative reviews I see here came from. I saw absolutely nothing to complain about from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. It really couldn’t have been better. We spent the rest of our vacation chasing this meal, and never did find anything to compare. I give a whole-hearted recommendation to the folks at Syndicate.

I was in NF for a 4 day work conference… I visited this place twice!!! Let me start with the beer, I tried the blonde ale, lager, and red cream ale. All were very tasty, but the Lager was my fave. I really liked the pay-one-price for 3 courses(it’s rare these days). The starters were soup one meal and pear salad the next… very fresh and good. Both meals were delicious; pan seared pickerel, and the seafood ravioli. I had crème brule for dessert both nights… best I ever tasted. In a city full of restaurants, this place is by far the best place to eat in NF.

We visited from VA and wanted something different than Applebee’s or TGI Fridays. Syndicate delivered. I ordered the ceaser salad, pork trio, and flourless chocolate cake. The ceaser salad was the best salad I’ve ever eaten. The dressing was creamy, and if you spray the provided lemon wedge, it cuts through to give a pleasant citrus note. The pork trio, which was a pork chop stuffed with breading and bacon and some sort of canadian bacon on top, was amazing. The meat was tender, juicy, and generous in both size and taste. The chocolate cake was my least favorite thing, but was still not bad. My wife ordered a caprese salad, seafood pasta, and crème bruele. The caprese salad was exactly what you expect when ordering one. The seafood pasta was very tasty. It contained shrimp, muscles, and scallops along with a generous portion of flat pasta noodles. Lastly, her crème bruele was rich and creamy with blueberries adoring the top. I ordered the flight of beers to sample a variety of locally brewed beers. My wife had the red cream ale, which was amazing! Unfortunately, they don’t bottle and sell it. But, you can get a growler for $ 15.

My boyfriend came here and we got the 3-course meal, and the duck poutine on the side because everyone was saying how good it is. It’s really good, definitely try it sometime. But getting 3 courses AND the poutine is a LOT of food. Anyways, our waitress was super friendly and service was great. We both had drinks which were also really good. The food really exceeded my expectations, particularly our desserts. Definitely worth your money!

I took my dad here for his birthday. It was cold outside, and the heaters were on inside. Unfortunately we were seated by the doors and so anytime anybody would come in we’d get the draft. My dad was freezing. We asked to be moved but it was a full house. This really ruined the experience, imo. We both ordered from the $ 22 three course meal. They have a pretty interesting and unique menu not typically seen in the Niagara region. The food is very well presented but lacked in the flavours department. My dad also said the same thing. The best part of the food was definitely the dessert. The staff is friendly, although they were a little slow on this busy evening. I’d come here again, but probably won’t order from the three course meal menu and definitely not when it’s cold outside.

First time in Canada and I wanted to eat somewhere somewhat local, not just TGIFridays. This place was really good. I went with their three course meal and I was really pleased. The fresh pasta was one of the best I’ve ever had and I shared the candied pecan chocolate mousse with my husband and we both loved it. Simply put-everything was just really good. The reason I give them four stars instead of five is because of the service. Our waiter was REALLY nice and friendly but the service was just a little slow and we had to ask a couple of times for things. And at the end we had to swap our check with a nearby table because we were both given the wrong one– which was not itemized so I was about to pay for their meal even though it was more expensive. Bottom line is eat here if you’re not in a hurry and you want to have some good food at a place not crawling with tourists. We loved it!

After seeing reviews for this place, my boyfriend and I decided to eat here New Year’s Eve while in Niagara Falls. We were not disappointed. They have a pick and choose 3 course meal for $ 22. I had the mushroom soup, braised beef with mashed potatoes and vegetables, then for dessert I had the strawberry raspberry pudding. Everything tasted great. The beef was tender and flavourful. Definitely good value for your money. Our waiter was very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing! Couldn’t wait to share a well deserved five star eat! Went to so many terrible restaurants in Niagara Falls– I mean TERRIBLE. We visited this one on our last night in town and wow, did we score! About the Venue: Industrial feel High ceilings Love the Brewery in the back But Boxes– major eyesore About the Service: Sarah was our waitress and awesome Knowledgeable, friendly Took our challenge and knocked it out of the park Offered us wine samplers(cab sau and Pinot noir and merlot) And when one of us didn’t love the samples, Sarah asked the bartender to best her own robe recommendation. Need I say more? About the Food: I had the Strudel salad appetizer 13oz prime with Mashed potatoes and veggies Vanilla bean Crème brûlée with gooseberry for dessert My company had a Mixed green salad A Rainbow trout entrée And the same dessert The Strudel… Oh my. That warm, flaky strudel, filled with goat cheese and mushrooms, served on a bed of spinach … Perfectly contrast with sweet vinaigrette reduction. AMAZING The Mixed green salad with blue cheese… had flavour and Intentionality too. A wonderful choice. As for the entrees– we were floored. My meat wAs cooked perfectly Vegetables were definitely in season And the mashed potatoes almost rivalled mine! I say, almost lol. The rainbow trout was light and lemony and a total delight. Served with risotto. My friend found the risotto sticky, i found it delectable but I do not like runny risotto. I usually don’t like risotto at all, but I finished hers off! Dessert was the only underwhelming portion. Crème brûlée was good but not new and the gooseberries tasted thawed out. I recommend– the strudel entrée and the rainbow trout. But the menu rotates so just go in! Extra tip– ask for Sarah!

This place was recommended to me by a friend so I decided to come here for dinner with the boyfriend after we crossed the border and visited Niagara Falls. The ambiance is very nice in here. It’s casual but also classy. I thought the beer here was a really good price! It was my first time in Canada and I really wanted to try the duck poutine because I never had it before. But then we found out the prix fixe was the same price as ordering an entrée. So then we decided ordering the appetizer would be too much with a 3 course meal. Prices were really good starting at $ 22 for a 3 course meal! Let’s just say. that is really awesome! I never go anywhere to get a 3 course meal for that cheap! Portions size are generous. Good thing we didn’t order the appetizer because we were stuffed! We both got the Chef’s soup of the day which was Cream of Broccoli. That was okay, I would have liked more cheese in it. We ordered the Farm to Table Slow Cooked Braised Beef and the Pork Duo. Both were very delicious and had a lot of flavor. Both entrees were very fresh and the meats were very tender. For dessert we got the Strawberry & Raspberry Sponge Pudding and the Chocolate Praline Stuffed Crêpe which were both very tasty. Couldn’t have picked a better place to wind down and relax after an exhausting day at Niagara Falls waiting on crazy lines on 4th of July weekend. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. Highly recommended. Definitely will come back if I ever decide to go to Niagara Falls/Toronto again :)
