The little Red Rooster was very good eats. Home cooked, down to earth, wholesome food. The restaurant was not little at all, lots of room, the atmosphere is nice and country friendly. We ordered the hot turkey sandwich, with fries. The pastrami on rye, with a side poutine. Everything was wonderful. Generous portions and gravy was very good. I enjoyed our lunch at the Little Red Rooster.

I’m sorry to say that this place was completely over-rated for breakfast. Even my kids were underwhelmed. It was fairly inexpensive but nothing beyond«fine». Our service was fine and we were there on Saturday at 9.30am.

Beware although this place came well recommended they treat tourists as third class citizens. The locals got served and left before we even got our food order. Our food which consisted of an omelet came after waiting 45 minutes. The mug was cracked and the waitress didn’t check on our table for 45 minutes. The omelette was not the one we had ordered. When we waved at the waitress she ignored us for 10 minutes even going to clean other tables. When we were getting up to walk out instead of eating the food we didn’t order she came up yo us and said«forget about it you weren’t even here I’m going to charge you for the coffee. «. Do not eat at this place. Awful service that favours locals.

Holy smokes this place is a winner! The chocolate chip pancakes are scrumptious and cooked to perfection. The sausage is also extremely good. the environment is cozy and feels like your in a friends kitchen. The price is also very affordable and a perfect breakfast stop while at Niagara on the Lake.

Charming décor. Little roosters perched on shelves all around the dining area gaze down on breakfasters. This is a quick, no-nonsense place for a simple, inexpensive breakfast. They are cheerful and efficient. You can get a big breakfast with the works or keep things simple. Either way, it’s a good deal and the coffee is great. Plenty of booths to sit in. This was my second time here and I found the food a bit greasier this time than last.

Great food, great service. Our friend suggested that we do lunch. It was after the lunch rush so seating was no problem. The quality of the food was excellent, prices reasonable and large quanties. My only negative comment is that I did not show self restraint and was in no position to order a piece of home made pie – which I understand is even beeter than the main course.

We showed up at 6:30 on a Sunday. It was supposed to be a slow evening but we arrived about 15 minutes after two large groups that swamped the kitchen and the front of house team. Well I have to tell you that I have never been so well treated in such a situation — our waitress was brilliant, fast, on top of our orders, and funny. Our dinners(Ribs special, Fish & Chips, Chicken Club) were all exactly as advertised. Hearty and hot… and then there was dessert. The pie list has over a dozen pies and if they are as good as the coconut cream pie I had… Well if you just skipped the entrée and had double pie and coffee I wouldn’t blame you. Décor seems chain restaurant but the service and overall cheer are anything but. If you want a break from the chains and the tea rooms and the wineries — I heartily recommend the Little Red Rooster.

As a local family restaurant, well worth it. I was only in town for the day and having eaten at other locales in the past, saw little benefit to pay inflated prices for fancy named food at tourist-centered locations. I live in another tourist-centered community so I know the tricks and the«code words». Good food, good service and(for both of us) too generous portions! Fast, recommended, what more can you say. Who needs a sommelier(whatever) anyway! Accessible! Info on washrooms not available.

The best value in NIagra-on-the-Lake. A little diner-type spot. Quaint. Great service. Nothing fancy. Standard breakfast, fresh food, nice servers. Since much of the rest of the town is over-priced tourist food, this place is a gem.

Stopped in here for a breakfast at noon on a Sunday. We were disappointed to find that they stop serving breakfast after noon except for one option. I had the eggs over easy, toast and opted for a bowl of fruit instead of the usual meat choices. Even though they had stopped serving breakfast, the kitchen had some homefries left so they gave them to us which was nice, although they were lacking any seasoning or taste. The server had told me there would be an extra charge for the fruit but I didn’t realize it was going to be 4 dollars which seems a bit pricey in my mind. Service was very attentive. Overall, nothing special about this place except the large collections of rooster trinkets and get there early if you want breakfast.

The value was great. Everything we ordered was great hot and fresh. The Trout is pan fried and pretty amazing at that. We also tried the spring rolls and turkey sandwich that was served with great homemade brown gravy. This place is for sure a good stop if you are looking for diner type food at reasonable prices.

Kitschy but pleasant rooster themed family diner with two large seating sections. Sandwiches, wraps, fries, burgers, pastas. Homemade pies: you MUST try their pineapple coconut pie(piña colada flavour) & they know their peach pies too.

Ok so 4 stars might be too many, but it certainly doesn’t deserve 2 like the other 2 reviews. The 4 stars are based in the whole experience there, not only the food. It is diner food, and the place looks old but clean. The service was good and our food too. Like I said good food for a diner, and it beats having to pay $ 30+ per person at the restaurants in the area for lunch, specially with kids.

A cheap, away from the strip country kitchen. In serious need of a remodel for sure. Significant other ordered the chicken club which seemed to be to his liking, whereas I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was disappointing. The burger patty was disgusting and looked straight out of M&M box instead of fresh. Overflowing with fries that were warm, that we just didn’t finish. Waitress was not on the ball, despite 4 of them there with not many actual customers there besides some elders. Good for cheap food, might go again in the future, but order differently. Probably will just try somewhere else.

This restaurant was across the street from our hotel we were staying at for a wedding and we were invited by the bride and groom for a morning-after brunch. Things started off pretty alright. I ordered tea and a small pot came, so I could refill my cup, which was nice. Then we all started to order. The sign in the front boosts that you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner, but there is literally only one dish for breakfast, which is two eggs, choice of meat and toast and fries for $ 2 extra. Most of us ordered this. One of the people we were with asked if he could get just egg whites for his eggs, but was told that was not possible. We were all confused as to why this would be such a problem. I ordered the breakfast with whole wheat toast and when it came out, my eggs were overdone and the toast was white toast. I pointed this out to the server, who flipped open her notepad and said, «It says here you ordered whole wheat toast and that’s what I told them» and then looked at me pointedly, while I sat there trying to figure out what her point was. I GUESS she expected me to agree that this wasn’t her fault and therefore not worry about it myself? I was surprised that she didn’t seem willing to fix this order. I had to ask for it to be fixed and so she reluctantly went to get me new toast. The fries that come on the side were literally fries. I was sort of expecting hashbrown-like potatoes, since they were with their breakfast. Overall, nothing special. Even looking at other peoples’ food it wasn’t overly impressive, but the service is certainly lacking.
