So bad… That’s all I can say. I don’t remember the name of my hairdresser but he said that he was new to Canada and all he did was complain about it. Aside from his attitude, he did a horrible job with my hair. I showed him a photo, and he barely glanced at it, but I assumed he knew what he was doing. turns out he totally had the wrong idea. My sister got her hair dyed there too, and it didn’t turn out nice at all(her roots were way lighter than the rest of her hair). We were there on a Saturday, and it was packed. There were a lot of people. It looks like the hairstylists there do a haphazard job, just trying to make money to get as many clients in as possible.

I love the online presence that Matthew Yu created for Izzy, the prompt and friendly communication he maintains. I felt welcome there even before getting there, so I decided to make my first investment into chemical relaxing(Magic Straight Perm) at this hair salon. A girl who rarely smiles comes up to me, looks into my eyes and without a hello or an introduction of her name, starts to get me prepared. Fine, I’ve seen way too many servers in restaurants with the same kind of distant attitude, it might be personality thing. Work is too demanding, perhaps. Still, I appreciate people who make me feel valued as a customer, spending my hard earned money for an experience, not just a product. People feel conflicted about their hair, especially women, and I might not be able to communicate everything exactly in my Korean. I could feel her exchanging looks with her colleague when I was trying to communicate that although I’m not entirely happy with my current state of hair, I would appreciate her getting me closer to what I wanted. She did a good job for what was being asked, and the $ 110 I spent wasn’t a waste entirely. I left feeling quite a bit sour, though, and would not return to her. I really want a stylist with whom I can connect long-term, who doesn’t talk down, someone who treats me like a client rather than work. Clients can be made to feel empowered or really insecure by professionals including personal trainers and stylists. I really would like to find one I can stay with long-term. Maybe I’ll try Matthew next time. He’s very popular and is still by far has the most personable presence on Facebook.

First time going here because of urgency haircut for my boyfriend. Found this place and the people here were very nice! I don’t know their names but the lady who did it was very quick, kind and seems to know what she’s doing. Overall, my boyfriend really liked his haircut(and so was I, hehe) and for a very great price! Definitely coming here again for myself and other services!

I went for a haircut not too long ago and I was so impressed with it. The price is very reasonable and my stylist was so knowledgeable about what to do with my hair(especially Asian hair). I used to get my haircut at a fancy salon for $ 80, but at Izzy’s I got a wash, trim, cut, and blow-dry for the price of $ 25. I am picky when it comes to cutting and styling Asian hair, so when it comes to finding a good place, I would highly recommend this one!

I went for my monthly haircut today and had my usual stylist, Evie. I was in a picky mood about my hair because I will attending some very important events. Evie did not complain and followed my instructions very well. And as it turn out my haircut this time around was better than last time. Seriously a great hidden place for haircuts($ 17 for men) Thumbs up on this quiet and humble joint.
