The Frog & Firkin

Wednesday wing night. Good, no great wings. They are half price and I personally love the dry Cajun. Service is friendly and prompt. I do come here all the time as I live near by but even first timers have to agree. I recommend the burger and the chicken curry. It’s probably my favourite curry in the city. Daily Beer and drink add to the value.

Great location, good drinks selection and very friendly service. The décor is cozy and food is fine (regular pub fare). The space is great for large groups and they have two pool tables.

I have been here a few times (with colleagues and friends). I am vegan and pub-​food is not always veg-​friendly. I called ahead a few nights ago when I went with my coworkers to ask what vegan options they had; the lady on the phone explained some side options, but mentioned they could make pasta for me with tomato sauce and veggies. Pasta isn’t even on their regular menu. I did not end up ordering the pasta that night, I wasn’t so hungry; but I gave them a 5 star for offering to make something for me. That shows me they care about my business. :)

This place sucks. Edible and sanitary, but that’s it. Not worth a full review. Don’t go here. I’m right about this.

Love the atmosphere! Came here during dinner time and there weren’t too many people but the server was great! She definitely knew the menu inside and out and was very helpful and friendly. She suggested several items which we ended up ordering but I’d say it was well worth it because the food was great and flavourful and everything overall was great! I’m not a huge burger fan but I was hungry and was tempted by the one of their burger option so I ordered it and boy was it juicy with lots of flavour! And then there were the deep fried onion rings on the side which also was amazing! My friend ordered the regular fries and I got the sweet potato fried and both were great! I would definitely come back!

It’s a pub where you can buy beer and that’s pretty much the only good thing about it. It’s pretty run down and the food isn’t up to the standards of other Firkin Pub locations, but if you’re looking for a more British/​Canadian pub atmosphere, then this is the only thing in the area that fills that deep, deep void.

Attended a special event at this pub last night. We had our own special section upstairs and it worked out really well. The wait staff was excellent and very helpful. To eat, we had the sliders and the fish tacos. Both were delicious. I was especially impressed with the portion size of the fish tacos. Wow, they were huge! The sliders were quite tasty too and I liked the sweet pickle skewered through the top :) They served Dad’s Root beer in the old school bottle so my wife was happy and I was thrilled cause I got to enjoy a Belgian Moon beer on draft. Overall, an enjoyable meal and drinks.

Great location! Nice British décor. I have visited here a few times & enjoyed each visit. I have always experienced great food & service here. This is my go-​to place if I am in the area

I have eaten here quite a few times in the past few months and I have nothing negative to say. My colleagues and I reserve a table and preorder our meals before we get there and the food is always hot and ready when we arrive.
I have had the Butter Chicken many times and it is soooo good! The restaurant makes the Butter Chicken with Tandoori mashed potatoes instead of rice which are so buttery and delicious with just the right amount of Tandoori spice. I have also had the Sheppard’s pie which is also to die for; it always tastes like homemade. The chicken fingers are good but not any better than any other pub.
As for the service, it is always attentive and friendly and the establishment is always clean.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! Keep up the great work!

A pop up from Unilocal keeps asking me: «What keeps you coming back?» Well Unilocal,it’s the Frog part. Let me explain: There is a place in Halifax called the Fickle Frog. It was my go-​to pub. Great memories there.
Now back to reality… This place is no Fickle Frog. It’s poorly maintained. Filthy carpet. Few dartboards but no darts to be found. Service is alright though. I appreciate the daily deals.
Meh overall and there are better places in the area to go for a drink. I suggest Nome Izakaya next door.

Met up with a friend at the Frog & Firkin after work because it was a mutually convenient location. After a few beers, I ordered the Steak & Kidney pie that was on special and was surprised by how delicious it was –the Firkin guys have really upped their game in the food department recently!

Service is good. Onion soup is delicious. Pub fare is a good 7 out 10. They’ll even give you a side of cheese curds with any meal for an extra $ 2.25. Sold.

This place is super cool looking with fun décor; only problem is service and bartending staff we had to put up with was garbage. As soon as we sat down at the bar for a quick drink the bartender sprayed my date with water from the beer glass cleaners, and not just a little bit. He was soaked. The woman had the nerve to patronized him after he said something too!
Our drinks were prepared with a total lack of care… And these were their high-​end house specialties.
Pretty pathetic experience, which is really unfortunate since this looks like a place where we could have really had a good time. Experience was ruined, maybe just one bad seed… Maybe not?
Won’t be returning EVER!

Was in the area, and actually had never heard of this of this establishment before, but decided to give it a visit. The pub is spacious and on two levels and its located right across the street from the Yonge/​Sheppard subway line.
They have a good selection of pub style beers, coolers and mixed drinks and you can get many popular brands of beer in bottles and on tap.
Our waitress suggested a ‘Chicken Curry’.
We each ordered a ‘small order’ which was only $ 8.00 and this was a meal in itself and came with a side order of fresh indian bread that had a kick to it.
The bowl had a generous portion of chicken in it, and the right amount of spices.
The pub itself has pool tables and a couple of video games and tv screens everywhere. I live at Spadina and Front but would definitely come back here.

Living at Yonge and Sheppard there really isn’t much night life, but this place seems to do the trick for nights we don’t feel like doing the trek downtown.
I haven’t tried the food, but I tried many of their drink specials and played pool and darts. Saturday is my favourite drink special– Rickard’s white pint for 5 $
It’s a fun time, if you haven’t been yet, you should check it out!

We come here once in awhile due to proximity and habit. The place is decent and has improved over the years. The staff is super friendly but the food is so so. Will I be back? Sure, why not?

Being located in North York around Yonge and Sheppard, makes it such a convenient location to visit. It’s one of the only bars around that stretch that sells pub style food and beers. Everything else around that area are korean/​japanese or random joints. The next closest pub style bar would be st louis north of Frog.
The whole Firkin franchise has recently revamped their look and now have this modern touch to their environment. They have new couches, seating, and décor. Their menus are redone and have great selection in food.
This particular location has an upstairs patio and pool table and a mini bar. Their bottom floor is more quieter and intimate.
The waitresses are mediocre as some can be rude and some can be nice. Depends on the day.
The food portions are massive and definitely worth the price you pay. if you feel like coming out full and feeling gross (but in a good way) then definitely come here.
I enjoy this place more so for the group atmosphere. I bring my teams here after a game and enjoy a few pints.
I wish they had more beer specials or team specials. They used to sponsor Toronto Sports and Social Club and provide us a platter if we bring our team and show our TSSC ID’s but they don’t anymore. Too bad.
Either way, for the location and convenience, it’s worth going here.

This place is pretty big on the inside. It has 2 floors, 2 pool tables, and 2 dart boards. It also has a pretty decent patio and tons of comfortable seating. I usually come here for my team building events after work and we always have a great time. I have come here three times all with groups of 15 or more and we have been lucky enough to have great servers.
The food is pretty good and a lot better than you would expect. We ordered platters full of wings, fries, chicken fingerd, dill pickle poppers, sausage rolls, and nacho platters. They all came out quick and tasted wonderful!
You have the option of sitting in the pool room with smaller tables but amazing for big groups or sitting in the couch area where it is more relaxed. The drinks come quick as long as you keep ordering what you need. Great place for casual drinks or group parties!

We came here because all the other bars were packed… decent and clean place altho it felt like a furnace inside… they had quite a lot of variety for beer on tap, ordered the nachos with spicy meat which was $ 20!!! We didn’t know the price cuz the waitress suggested it and honestly it’s okay, nothing special and not worth the 20 bucks
Wouldn’t come back here again unless other bars are full
