Irwin Lake Chalets

I’ve stayed here two summers in a row for a «family of friends vacation.» It’s a great solution. You can all contribute to the cost of the cabin rentals and be right next to one another (without being as close as a hotel). The cabins are fairly large so you can have lots of people in one place for big meals or games nights without it feeling crowded.
Several of the cabins have hot tubs and that’s definitely worth the extra investment. It’s a great way to end the night after a day of playing in the sun.
There are several places to play — there’s the lake (obviously) and also a hidden pond. Both are good for swimming as they are shallow and warm. The pond has the advantage of being a better beach — more sand. The lake’s biggest advantage is the proximity — you can easily walk there from all the cabins. Be forewarned: the last time we were there, we found leeches in the pond. It happens. They don’t hurt. Just bring along a salt shaker and you’re fine.
Speaking of things to bring… the cabins are fairly well stocked with supplies. We usually bring a few extra/​specialty cooking supplies but most things you’d need will be there.
One thing you might think you need but won’t find here is cell phone coverage. Most of our group would have almost no bars. It was a wonderful break. I put my phone down as soon as we got there and would only pick it up occasionally to check the time or take pictures.
I can also see this a s being a great romantic getaway.

Just back from another visit up to Irwin Lakes! This adventure led me up there flying solo for Sat & Sun. I am currently involved in a Yoga Program that requires me to observes 24hrs of silence at some point during the course. No radio, internet, TV, talking — notta.
What better spot came to mind then Irwin Lakes!
My husband and I have been here 2 other times and just loved it. The chalets are rustic but equip with everything you would need. They are nestled in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and wooded area. And the view — overlooking the lake.
Stunning.
They have 1 bedroom chalets and and even 2 bdrm. Some larger then others, some have hot tubs even.
Irwin Lakes is reasonably priced and such a great spot. I recommend to so many people! If you havent experienced you should!
