I was very impressed with the great customer service and extremely reasonable prices. I don’t know why I thought Iniskillin was so expensive but it’s not. They have a lot of wines to taste, there is truly something for every persons wine pallet. They have a lot of great beginner wines if you are just getting into wine and things for the more advanced pallet as well. One of my favs was the Malbec and I was really surprised they had it considering it was the Okanagan!

The ‘Reserve Riesling’, ‘Pinot Grigio’, ‘Pinot Blanc’, and ‘Discovery Malbec’ wines purchased at Inniskillin during our June, 2013 Osoyoos stay were much-enjoyed. My personal favourites of the wines purchased: the ‘Pinot Grigio’ and ‘Discovery Malbec’. The Malbec was my choice as «winner» — a wonderful Malbec in all respects!

Meg has liked this wine for a long time so we had to make it in. Wines were great and reasonably priced but the tasting room is small and boring. I was expecting something bigger and nicer.

When I first called to reserve our spot for«Wine and Wander in the Dark Horse Vineyard» during the 2010 Fall Wine Festival, to be honest I was simply following my friends’ lead. I really didn’t know much about the Okanagan Valley beyond their stories from having resided there for several years before moving down to Portland. I knew even less about Ice Wine(see Roo M.‘s excellent summary). So when I took a call from Audrey a week before we left for the Okanagan to hear that the low sign up for the event led them to cancel but that our friends and we were invited for a complimentary Ice Wine tasting nevertheless, I was impressed by the action but had no idea the extent to which these lovely people would go to make us feel welcome, cherished guests of what was a well conceived and highly thought out event. (It’s been a while since I began this review, but the memory nevertheless is filled with warmth and good feelings.) I look forward to returning one day!

They may be a larger producer, but they’ve had some great wines! Can be a bit hit or miss, but we’ve always found some we’ve loved. Ice wines are world known and one of the few you can find in the states. I do wish the tasting room was a bit larger at times, but the staff is friendly and the price points are more of a mixed review… depends on the wine. One to always try when in BC.

I had high expectations for this winery that scored at #7 in the Top 20 Canadian Wine Awards of 2008, as judged by Wine Access magazine. We found that they have a very wide offering of table wines, and some are very simple. Especially the ones that are included in your free tasting. If you want to sample the more complex or award-winning wine, you have to anti-up $ 2 for each taste. We were rewarded by paying the extra for the 2006 Chenin Blanc — Discovery Series. It was a silver medalist at the Canadian Wine Awards and delivered with a big honeydew taste, but a comparatively mild nose of damp grass. We picked up a bottle for $ 16.99. Overall, the wineries tasting room was small, crowded, and the tastings were rushed. The staff were friendly and tried their best to get around to all the different groups of tasters, but it was a busy day. They are most recognized for their Ice Wines(especially the Riesling), so I would recommend checking them out if you are in the market for a dessert wine. Try to get in on a tour for more personal attention.

Inniskillin Winery has one location in the Okanagan and another in Niagara. The wine shop offers a long list of wines, but the counter can get pretty crowded with people clamoring for another glass. About half are free and the other half are $ 2 per taste. Ice wines are $ 3 per taste. We ended up choosing a bottle of 2006 Malbec.

A physical tour of the winery is pending, s a fifth star will be held in reserve until that time to allow room for improvement. This review is for their exceptional Ice Wines. To those unfamiliar with the process of icewine creation, here is a quick summary: Though Icewine’s roots can be traced to centuries old German winemakers, there is nothing more quintessentially Canadian than this luscious luxury borne of patience and sub zero bravura. Grapes are left on the vine well into the winter months to concentrate and intensify the flavours, as water content freezes, thaws and dehydrates in each precious Icewine grape. Made in the Niagara Peninsula Ideally suited to the Canadian winter season in both the Niagara Peninsula and the Okanagan Valley, the magical process of crafting Icewine is guided by nature — triggered by the snap of the wintry elements, the harvest can’t begin until temperatures drop below minus eight degrees Celsius for a sustained period of time. There are rigorous specifications regulating the making of Icewine set out by Canada ‘s quality control board, the VQA(Vintner’s Quality Alliance). Artificial freezing of the grapes is strictly prohibited. Extreme Winemaking Once the extreme temperatures arrive, Icewine pickers arrive, often in the dead of night, to harvest the frozen clusters. The precious grapes are immediately pressed in the extreme cold to extract the luscious nectar. In this process, the water content in each grape remains frozen in crystals, leaving only a few coveted drops of concentrated, intense liquid. Icewine yields are a mere 10−15% of an average table wine harvest. Slowly fermented over the coming months, this delicate nectar will eventually become Icewine. Intense Flavours, Pure Varietal Character and Great Balance The finished Icewine is intense, sweet and sumptuous, yet balanced with brilliant acidity, creating a unique sensation on the palate. Renowned for fruit flavours ranging from mango to peach to lychees, Icewine is truly a natural wonder and extreme winemaking at its best, yielding the impressions of tropical tastes wrought from the frigid extremes of the icy Canadian winterscape. Inniskillin is the World Leader in Icewine Inniskillin Icewine is well renowned as the world leader in Icewine. It is sold in over 59 countries and is the #1 distributed wine in Global Travel Retail. So far we have tried their 2004 Vidal — The original Icewine that our friend introduced us to and began our love affair with this incredible beverage of the Gods 2004 Cabernet Franc — Extremely rare and quite possibly the best icewine I have ever tasted 2004 Reisling — Another great choice 2006 Vidal — Also great, but a little too sweet to me. ALmost Cloying, but I will choose it over any of the other ice wines available from my local source. I cannot wait until we finally get a chance to enjoy our tour of this amazing winery Icewine Discovery Tour Available daily(approx 45 minutes) $ 10.00 person with a $ 5.00 voucher redeemable on wine purchase
