I’ve been here a couple of times, and my experience has always been bland. The place is dead except for the random single customers sporadically sitting around the place. It’s really quite, almost awkwardly so. It feels like such a waste considering the fantastic location and patio, I wish a better restaurant would take over the location(I’m looking at you Donaleighs). Aside from the awkward silence, my biggest issue with Hooters is their food. I just flat out do not want to eat here, I’d rather spend my money eating something I actually want to eat. It isn’t bad per se, but I’m pretty sure I could make the same fries from a bag of frozen grocery store fries in my oven at home, they taste no different. So instead of eating I’ll opt to buy a drink, and for the life of me I don’t understand why they can’t leave a drink menu on their tables. I asked what beer they served and the waitress went on listing them for about 5 minutes(at least I can’t complain about their beer selection). Oh, and the hula hoops. Is that considered sexy? Maybe I should pick up one on my way home. Long story short, don’t waste your time here. There are far better places just down the street.

Came here on a Monday night for dinner, saw the big sign on top of the entrance saying«all you can eat wings Monday for $ 11.99». That’s what got us interested in going in for dinner. They have a decent size patio facing the parking lot of the lake, you can see a nice view of the lake depending on which tables you sit at. They also have a rooftop patio which allows you to see more of the lake view. You seat yourselves as you walk into the restaurant, we didn’t know so we stood there for 5 mins trying to get seated. It wasn’t busy at all, a few tables with single customers and maybe 2 – 3 tables at the patio. We sat inside by the big window so we could get some of the nice view of the lake, there weren’t much choices in choosing our table because you can clearly see the other tables which had a nice lake view were dirty with cup marks and sticky stains. Menus are all on the table, but they don’t have a drinks menu thou(alcohol). You have to ask the server to see what types of alcohol they in house or on tap. For the all you can eat wings, you get to choose from 13 different flavors and original wings or boneless. We placed our first round, it came quick and tasted alright, nothing you can really expect from a place like this. The wings were small thou, it’s good in our favors for once because then we can try other flavors, but if you were ordering them off the menu regularly, totally a ripe off! My friend and I aren’t big eaters but we manage to finish 3 rounds of wings, each round with 10 – 13 wings approximately. The flavors we tried were: Daytone Beach — just tasted like a spicy sauce with little sweetness Honey Garlic — any other typical honey garlic sauce you buy from the store 3 Mile Island — very spicy and a bit sour hot sauce Chiptole Honey — a sweet sauce with a bit of spiciness Towards the end of your meal, you would feel like the waitress is rushing you out because she came to us and ask if we’re still eating and we told her were slowly enjoying it. Then she comes back 5 mins later to see that our plates are still half full and asks the same question. When we told her we were finished, she quickly cleared everything off our table, the plates, drinks and came back with our bill without us asking. She stood there with the machine in hand waiting for us to pay. Since we don’t live in the area, we definitely won’t be coming back anymore.

This place used to be great. The atmosphere hasn’t changed but the service and food Have gone down hill. Maybe I just had an off day since it was a Tuesday dinner. Our server was slow to greet us and slow to bring our drinks. I took a look and saw her chatting with her coworkers with our drinks in front of her. Our food came quickly but we were only brought 2 sets of cutlery for 3 people. Once I asked for extra our server apologized and she became more attentive. Our food was pretty good but I had a side of baked beans that looked to be 2 days old and reheated after being scooped with an ice cream scoop. They offered to replace them when we were leaving and the server noticed I hadn’t eaten them. All in all it was a mediocre experience but it wasn’t horrible by any means. I’ll be back for the views and friendly service.

Terrible experience. Extensive wait times, messed up orders, and then when it came time to figuring out the bill out server begins to argue with people at our table and roll her eyes? Seriously? Manager continued to stare members of our party down as we were paying as if we were scamming them or complaining without cause. If you’re in Barrie do yourself a favour. Avoid this place, lots of other great dining options on Dunlop.

While I spent the day conducting one-on-ones, Gord spent the day exploring Barrie. I didn’t know exactly what time I’d be finished(I thought about 3:30pm but it turned out to be 4:15pm). Gord doesn’t have a cell phone so I couldn’t contact him. So we agreed to meet on the patio of Hooters and have supper before we headed for home. It was a beautiful day and their patio overlooks Lake Simcoe. It was a weird contrast … 16C and sunny yet there is still ice on the Lake! Gord ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger. He said it was delicious and wanted to replicate it at home. I ordered«naked»(ie not battered) wings with hot sauce. They were okay. We split an order of onion rings. The patio was packed … everyone else had the same idea we did. There were lots of servers but, alas, ours wasn’t that attentive. Since I was driving us home, I was drinking Diet Pepsi and she never checked to see if I wanted another one once mine was gone. When it was time to head out, we waited for our server to bring our bills … Gord finally had to go in and ask for them. When she brought them over, we were paying with credit cards and she said she had to go get the machine … and she never came back. We finally got tired of waiting and went inside to pay. Bad service! The best thing about this place is the patio which was a fabulous spot to catch some rays and have a bite to eat.
